Chapter 533: 533: Finally… he has achieved perfection (second update)

The usually timid girl suddenly wasn’t afraid anymore, “Lu Xinglan, do you like ?”

There, she finally got it.

Lu Xinglan picked her up, brushed the snow off with his sleeve, and placed her on the community’s exercise equipnt, his hands propping on either side of her, “My back hurts, your turn.”

Her turn to bend, to kiss him.

“Okay.”

She hugged him, bent over, fulfilling his wish,

Liking her obedience,

And liking her disobedience too.

Liking her when she’s good,

And liking her when she’s not.

Liking most of all when she opened her eyes, her gaze filled with him.

He looked up, ate the snow on her lips, and mumbled unclearly, “Yeah.”

Lu Xinglan, do you like ?

Yeah.

Liking her awkwardness and constraint,

And liking her occasional cleverness too.

Liking her smile, bright and beautiful,

And liking her ferociousness too.

Liking most of all when she obediently hugged him, lying on his shoulder and cheerfully calling him “Mr. Lu Xinglan.”

He lted into a puddle of softness, surrendering to her.

In the dead of night with no one around, amidst a fierce snowstorm, the sky too dark to see the Milky Way, but looking down, he could see the footsteps of his heart’s desire under the streetlamp. Just right, all just right.

Along the way, Su Lihua didn’t talk, Lin Dongshan also didn’t talk, following behind him; she was afraid he would turn back, see the love she couldn’t hide in her eyes, but also afraid that he wouldn’t turn back.

He didn’t turn back, not even once.

Lin Dongshan smiled wryly and got in the car after him.

“Did you co to see Guyu?” she asked first.

Su Lihua had already put out his cigarette, the lighter still in his hand, he said, “I ca to see you.” His eyelids half-closed, his gaze too profound, concealing untold emotions.

The playful lighter in his hand bore an eye-catching splash of fresh red, transferred from his sleeve.

She panicked for a mont, grabbing his hand, “What happened? Why is your hand bleeding?”

Thud.

The lighter fell.

Su Lihua ignored the blood on his hand and focused on that hand, “It’s soone else’s blood.”

Of course, he hadn’t fired his gun.

Such scum didn’t deserve his excellently modified gun.

The blood on the sleeve was Xia Fangming’s; he wasn’t bleeding, but his hand was hurt. The blue and purplish joints betrayed the force he had used.

Lin Dongshan released his hand, “Did you get into a fight?”

“To be exact…” he admitted, “I hit soone.”

Lin Dongshan had heard about Su Lihua’s reputation back in his Pullman days, so said he was ruthless, others mysterious, but most said he was like a monk, emotionless and unflustered, as if high on a pedestal, cold and lifeless.

Lin Dongshan looked at him, trying to glimpse into his heart through his eyes.

“Lin Dongshan.”

She saw it, anger in his eyes.

He said, “Don’t go on blind dates anymore.”

She had a hunch and tentatively asked, “Did you hit Doctor Xia?”

He smiled, eyes and brows lifted, even his smile carrying a chill, “Why, are you questioning ?”

Now she was sure, he was the one doing the questioning.

“Lin Dongshan, in choosing a stepfather for Guyu, don’t you think you should consult , her biological father?” His usual smoky deanor dissipated, and the raw ruthlessness in his bones ca to the fore with his anger, “Xia Fangming isn’t suitable. Don’t et with him in private anymore.”

Lin Dongshan thought of that young man, the one who had brought her to Su Lihua’s room. That young man who struck terror into the hearts of others, erratic in mood, taking pleasure in tornt, climbing out from a pile of bones, ignorant of love, only understanding killing, seeing nothing but blood and carnage and never the beauty of things like wind, flowers, snow, and the moon.

The birthday boy who had traded her away had said before, this Young Master Zhi, he was more like his uncle.

Lin Dongshan could probably understand now what kind of trials Su Lihua had weathered to beco so detached. She suddenly wanted to embrace him.

She lowered her head, pressing down the emotions that were about to burst forth, “I should go back.”

Her hand had barely touched the car door when he held it down.

“Lin Dongshan,” his voice was too low, low and sowhat hoarse, emotion pressing to spill from his eyes, “Will you listen to just once?”

Her spirit, her god, asked her, can you?

Lin Dongshan nodded without hesitation, “Fine, I won’t go on blind dates anymore.”

He closed the car window, the howling wind and snow all discarded outside.

“That’s not what I ant.”

When he drove to the secluded backdoor of the neighborhood, when his body leaned over to kiss her, when his hand touched the clasp of her bra behind her back, she then realized what kind of obedience he ant.

Her whole body trembled, unable to hear anything, only his voice remaining in her ears, “I’m giving you one last chance,” he said, “push away.”

This was her spirit, her god, whom she longed to follow even if it ant abandoning the mortal world.

She lifted her hand, tremblingly placed it on his shoulder.

“Su Lihua, I’m cold.”

He picked her up and undid her clothing, “Hold tight.”

The snow kept falling, layer upon layer.

Creak.

Tree branches bent under the weight, six-petal silver flowers scattered down.

That night, Chen Xiangtai didn’t sleep at all; Lin Dongshan… well, didn’t return ho all night.

Guyu crawled under Chen Xiangtai’s blanket, drowsy, and asked, “Aunt Xiangtai, why isn’t my mom coming back?”

Chen Xiangtai rolled very lightly, “Because of your dad.”

She hid under the blanket, sneaking a laugh.

“Aunt Xiangtai, why are you always laughing?”

She stared at the ceiling, her eyes twinkling like stars, “Do I?”

“Yes, the bed is shaking.”

“Oh, then I’ll stop.”

But the bed still shook.
