Chapter 390: 390: Luo Changfang heats up the lunch box, Jiang Xiaolin creatively pursues his wife (second update)
Zhou Group.
The secretary knocked and entered, “Mr. Tang, here are the financial docunts you requested.”
Tang Xiang took them and flipped to the end of the file, “Why is there no audit signature? Who prepared this report?”
“It was Vice President Bai,” the secretary explained. “This copy is a duplicate; the original with the signatures is still with President Wu.”
Tang Xiang briefly flipped through a few pages, then made a phone call.
“Mr. Xiao, hello.”
This Mr. Xiao was the person in charge of the institution collaborating with the Qiming Fund project.
Tang Xiang briefly explained, “We have a few accounts here that don’t match up. Could you provide with a detailed receipt from Qiming?”
Mr. Xiao said, of course, he could.
Tang Xiang expressed her gratitude, “Thank you for your trouble.”
After hanging up, she asked the secretary, “Where is Wu Ting now?”
Wu Ting was the manager of the company’s finance departnt, personally responsible for the accounts of this project.
“There’s a quarterly eting in the finance departnt this afternoon; President Wu should still be in the eting room.”
Tang Xiang stood up and walked towards the eting room. Along the way, her phone rang, and she answered it.
The caller imdiately said, “Pick up after work.”
Thinking it was a mistake, she specifically checked the number again. It wasn’t a mistake; it was that scoundrel, “You’ve got the wrong number; I’m not your driver.”
Jiang Xiaolin, sounding in good spirits, mixed with a hint of laughter, “I can recite your number backward; I didn’t dial it wrong.”
Not in the mood for banter, Tang Xiang asked, “Why should I pick you up?”
With an air of entitlent, he responded, “Because you need to make installnt paynts.” He was in a good mood and made a suggestion, “Or you can pay it all at once.”
As she approached the eting room, Tang Xiang asked, “How can I pay in full?”
He leisurely replied, “By marrying .”
Scoundrel!
Reaching the eting room, Tang Xiang had no ti for further conversation, “I’m busy; I’ll call you back later.”
After that, she hung up.
Jiang Xiaolin, wanting to hear more, only heard the beeping tone, “…”
The eting room door wasn’t fully closed. Tang Xiang knocked three tis and pushed the door open, “Excuse for interrupting.”
Inside, all the finance departnt colleagues turned to look at her.
She directly addressed, “Wu Ting, step outside.”
Wu Ting, a woman in her forties, slightly overweight, always greeted people with a smile, very slick; she jokingly replied, “Mr. Tang, we are in a eting.”
Despite holding similar positions, Tang Xiang was directly appointed by the board of directors and reported to them, whereas other managers, including Wu Ting, reported to Tang Xiang.
In essence, Tang Xiang was Wu Ting’s superior.
Tang Xiang walked into the eting room, stood in front, as the projector cast a rectangle of light dotted with spreadsheets onto her face: “Colleagues, do you mind if I add one more item to our eting agenda?”
Around the long rectangular table, dozens sat on either side. Aside from shaking their heads, no one dared to speak up. Who would dare to object? Other than the company directors, every departnt head had to address this project director as Mr. Tang.
She wrote a string of codes for the colleague handling the projector, “Xiao Jia, log into my computer account.”
Wu Ting’s face beca increasingly tense.
The eting that started at five in the afternoon dragged on till seven at night. The finance departnt’s accounts did not tally, everyone’s faces pale, nervous, especially Wu Ting, who was sweating profusely in the latter half.
As the eting was about to wrap up, Tang Xiang left a remark, ant for the finance departnt colleagues but especially for Wu Ting, “These thirteen transactions, I need the details by tomorrow. If not, be prepared for prison.” After saying this, she stood up from the boss chair, “eting adjourned.”
The entire finance departnt remained silent, Wu Ting still seated, no one daring to stand.
“President Wu,” the vice president asked timidly, “Shall we, continue?” The eting’s rhythm was disturbed, and they hadn’t discussed a single item from their original agenda.
“Let’s adjourn.”
Wu Ting rose and left first.
She went to the stairwell, looked around, then made a phone call. As soon as it connected, she spoke anxiously, “Chairman Luo, Mr. Tang is not letting go. If the accounts still don’t match up by tomorrow, she definitely won’t spare .”
Currently, the only director with the surna Luo in Zhou Group was Luo Changfang.
“Who was it that promised confidently that the accounts would absolutely not be exposed?”
Desperate, Wu Ting explained, “I didn’t expect Mr. Tang—”
Luo Changfang didn’t let her finish, “If this matter drags in, it won’t just be Tang Xiang; I won’t spare you either,” she paused briefly, then emphasized, “and your family.”
She was sealing her lips.
“Do you understand?”
Wu Ting, with a back full of cold sweat, replied, “Understood, understood.”
Sitting on the sofa at ho, Luo Changfang hung up the phone with Wu Ting, dialed another number, “Last night’s lesson wasn’t enough, make her suffer a bit more.”
The person on the other end was male, his voice deep, “I haven’t had a chance to act; she has another person with her besides that secretary.”
“Who is it?”
“The eldest son of the Jiang family.”
What does this have to do with Jiang Xiaolin?
Luo Changfang was clueless.
“Mistress,” a servant ca in from outside, “You’ve received a package.”
It was an envelope.
The sender had not filled in any information.
With one hand holding the phone, Luo Changfang used the other to open the envelope, “Never mind Jiang Xiaolin, you find a chance—”
The envelope slipped from her hand, dropping to the floor, and the contents slid out – a stack of photos. Luo Changfang only glanced at one before freezing.
It was past seven, and street lamps were just being lit.
In front of the Zhou Group’s main gate, a gray Bentley was parked, its license plate ending with two sixes and two nines. The owner of the car, a handso man in a classic suit and white shirt, leaned against the car door.
Tang Xiang walked out of the company gate, “Why are you here?”
Jiang Xiaolin opened the backseat door, one hand rested on it, inviting, “Since you didn’t co to pick up, I had to co for you.”
