Chapter 388: 388: Acting like a hooligan is because of love, love, love, love, love~
ntioning the Jiang Family from Imperial City brings Lin to mind, and no amount of praise over three days and nights would suffice. Young, accomplished, mature, disciplined, and graceful… anyone who talks about him nods and nods again.
Few people know that Lin’s impressive resu contains a dark page.
It happened during his sophomore year, after an evening self-study session, at ten o’clock.
“Old Jiang, wanna go for late-night snacks?”
The one who proposed this was his roommate, Zhang Bufan.
Jiang Xiaolin showed little interest, “No, I haven’t finished my assignnt yet.”
Zhang Bufan, always talking, slung his arm around him and urged, “Co on, let’s have fun with everybody.”
He had barely got his arm around him when the other coldly pulled it away and responded with two icy words—
“Get lost.”
That level of disdain.
Zhang Bufan, quite the drama king, made a face like a forsaken wife, “You heartbreaker, just stick with your studies!”
Jiang Xiaolin looked at him as though he was looking at an idiot.
Another guy in the room, Guan Pei, who was always unserious, teased, “Look here, Old Jiang, let’s not turn the tables. We are grown n, what’s wrong with letting Tang Xiang press you down a bit? Being underneath has its comforts too.”
No matter what the discussion was, it always ended up about Tang Xiang, Jiang Xiaolin’s bane; she had kept him firmly in second place for two whole years.
Jiang Xiaolin snapped, “Scram.”
Zhang Bufan chuckled mischievously, “Look at him, he’s even blushing.”
Guan Pei burst into laughter, “Probably got feelings squeezed out of him.”
Jiang Xiaolin sighed, “Idiots.”
He couldn’t be bothered, walked aside, and made a phone call.
“I heard from our dorm supervisor,” the roommate He Xixi brought up sothing, “there’s a pervert in our building who steals underwear from the girl’s bathhouse at night.”
Zhang Bufan cursed while driving his mini car, “Freak! If he’s lonely, why doesn’t he just jerk off?”
The three roommates chatted at random.
Jiang Xiaolin walked alone behind. The cold white light from his phone lit up his face.
“What’s up?”
He looked at the ground, his shadow stretched out behind him by the streetlight, “You haven’t given your project report.” He explained casually, “I’ll be passing by building seventeen later.”
Tang Xiang’s dorm was in building seventeen; he was “on the way” as the n’s dorm was ahead.
“I’m at the bathhouse.”
She hung up right after speaking.
Almost simultaneously, Jiang Xiaolin halted; bathhouse… pervert…
Guan Pei looked back, “What’s up?”
He turned and ran toward the back of the female dorm toward the bathhouse.
Guan Pei shouted from behind, “Where are you going?”
What was he doing?
He didn’t know; his feet moved faster than his brain, reaching the girls’ bathhouse before he could realize what impulse drove him there. He couldn’t stop in ti and bumped into soone.
The boy he bumped into looked panicked, apologized quickly, and ran off.
“Jiang Xiaolin?”
Jiang Xiaolin turned and saw Tang Xiang wrapped in a towel, erging from the bathhouse.
Her white towel reached her thighs, showcasing her elegant swan neck and collarbones, her wet hair dripping with water that rolled down her slender neck.
He swallowed hard, stuttering, “You, you should get dressed!”
She held one hand on the towel over her chest, her skin flushed from the steam under the moonlight, “What are you doing here?”
He looked away, “Just passing by.”
Delirious from the heat, his mind wasn’t clear and he blurted out nonsense.
Tang Xiang was skeptical, “This is the girls’ bathhouse. Where exactly are you passing by to?”
The girls’ bathhouse was at the very end of the female dormitory block; there was no way through.
“It’s none of your business.” Normally poised and elegant, he flared up uncharacteristically, “Go get dressed first. To co running out like this, have you no sha?”
Tang Xiang stood still, gripping her towel, staring unblinkingly at him.
The bathhouse was almost empty at that ti. She was showering when she suddenly heard a strange noise, peeked out and found her underwear was missing. She hadn’t seen anyone, just heard footsteps, and in her urgency had chased out.
Outside the bathhouse, there was only Jiang Xiaolin.
He set his backpack down, slipped off his jacket, and threw it at her, his deanor rather harsh, “Put it on.”
His backpack swayed with the motion, and a light blue striped bra fell out.
Jiang Xiaolin: “…”
The air grew still.
A second later, matching panties also fell out.
Both garnts belonged to Tang Xiang.
He stared for a long ti and shook his head, “It wasn’t .” It must have been that other guy.
Tang Xiang extended his hand, “Pass your phone.”
He thought she wanted to check the photos and videos, so he handed it to her without hesitation.
She took the phone, then grabbed his hand with the other, and dialed a number, “Hello, Academic Affairs Office? I caught a pervert outside the bathhouse.”
Pervert: “…”
That evening, Jiang Xiaolin was taken to the Academic Affairs Office for a trial eting.
There were no caras outside the bathhouse, the incident had no witnesses, and he couldn’t provide a valid reason for being there at that ti, so naturally, he beca the pri suspect in the peeping incident. It was only because the instructor vouched for him that he avoided expulsion, but he was still punished, docked five moral conduct points. And because of those five points, the first place he had finally achieved beca second.
After that, he intensified his ‘tornting’ of her, and following the nickna “gay,” he earned another, “pervert.”
This girl, she was truly his scourge.
“I demand compensation.”
Just like that laptop with the broken screen back then.
He was unreasonable, “You can pay in installnts.”
“How would you compensate?”
He bent down, their eyes t, “How about you co to stay at my house for a month?”
Tang Xiang doubted she heard right and clarified, “Not the compensating ‘compensate,’ but the accompanying ‘accompany’?”
This “accompany” pleased Jiang Xiaolin even more, “You could see it that way.”
Tang Xiang was speechless, and simply said, “Scoundrel.”
He didn’t deny it, his tone suddenly serious, “Tang Xiang, you’ve known for ten years. Have you seen act like a scoundrel towards anyone else?”
Outsiders always thought the Lin from the Jiang Family of Imperial City was refined, graceful, and elegant.
He only played the scoundrel with the girl he liked.
Tang Xiang, with her back against the wall and nowhere to retreat, lifted her eyes to et his, so close, “Do you like ?”
Did he need to admit it again?
“Yes.”
She couldn’t understand, “Then why have you always been against ?”
There was a hint of embarrassnt on his handso face, “I wanted to get your attention.”
…
Nowadays, even elentary school boys didn’t use such thods to attract their crushes. It was incredibly childish.
In fact, Tang Xiang had sotis suspected Jiang Xiaolin harbored so feelings for her, but every ti he provoked her to the point of raging, she denied such thoughts herself.
Her mind was a ss now, and after trying to sort it out without success, her mouth moved faster than her thoughts, “I’m not into you.”
After speaking, she looked down at her toes.
She only had this small movent when she felt guilty, but why was she feeling guilty? This question, along with “Why does Jiang Xiaolin like her?”, raced through her mind.
Jiang Xiaolin, discontent, displeased, indignant, “I know, you like the likes of Jiang Zhi, the little demon, and Chen Pei, the old man.”
Tang Xiang: “…”
She liked no such thing!
She had only complinted Jiang Zhi’s looks a few tis and helped her roommate Xiao Gui deliver a love letter once.
He was unreasonable, having lost all semblance of a gentleman, his eyes gleaming with malice, “But I hurt my hand, so you’re responsible.”
The “accompany,” right.
“You an stay at your house?”
He nodded, his tone leaving no room for discussion, “To be my caretaker.”
Not just a scoundrel, but also a shaless one.
Tang Xiang turned and walked away.
“Tang Xiang!”
The man she left behind grew angry, “My hand hurts!”
The implication was: It hurts because of you! It’s all your fault!
It was the first ti Tang Xiang realized how difficult he was, and she thought about cursing him, but then again, she was arguing with a patient, who, after all, had been injured while saving her.
She was a conscientious person, “Sit there, I’ll get the dicine.”
Jiang Xiaolin was smug.
Suddenly, from behind, a voice remarked, “I didn’t expect you’d be so childish.”
Jiang Xiaolin turned around.
It was none other than Jiang Zhi, the little demon, pushing a drip stand slowly towards him.
Jiang Xiaolin’s look was dramatically different from before, his eyes full of aggressive inquiry, “Did you send that recording?”
Jiang Zhi calmly replied, “Yes.”
“And your purpose?”
The dicine bag on the drip stand swung leisurely, his deanor relaxed, “To help you and Tang Xiang connect.”
Jiang Xiaolin folded his arms, scoffing, “Looks to like you were using the situation to stab soone in the back.”
He made no denial.
