Chapter 317: 317: Who bumped into Qing Rang’s leg (one more update

She spoke calmly but firmly, “Eight years ago, my boyfriend had a car accident right at your Luo Family’s doorstep. You haven’t forgotten about that, have you?”

Luo Huaiyu’s eyes flickered montarily before returning to calm, “Business is business, and personal matters are personal, Shengsheng, we shouldn’t conflate the two.”

However, Lu Sheng retorted, “Our Lu Family doesn’t distinguish between public and private affairs; we only look at right and wrong.”

Therefore, she was determined about this matter.

Luo Huaiyu seed to understand that soone didn’t want the Lu Family to lend a helping hand, “Who told you this? Was it Zhou Qingrang or Zhou Xufang? And what exactly did they say? Did they say my Luo Family hit soone?”

Lu Sheng was straightforward, “It was your son in prison who said it, and it wasn’t him who hit the person.” Her gaze was fixed on the old man in front of her, not missing a single change in his expression.

He panicked.

“There’s no evidence; you can’t just make accusations. The driver who hit Zhou Qingrang is long gone from this world. If you want to accuse , you at least need to provide evidence.”

He was greatly flustered and finally slipped up.

Lu Sheng leaned back, her eyebrows slightly raising, “Grandpa Luo, I only said it wasn’t your son who hit him. Did I ever say it was you?”

Luo Huaiyu was speechless and wide-eyed.

“It shouldn’t be for the sake of Luo Changde, right?” The Luo Family isn’t that noble; rather, they are quite hypocritical, Lu Sheng guessed, “Is it for the reputation of your Luo Family?”

This damned reputation, she needed to destroy it to feel at ease.

Luo Huaiyu naturally denied it, “That’s only your conjecture.”

“Indeed, if I had evidence, you would be in prison with your son right now. However,” Lu Sheng dragged out her tone leisurely, “since the law can’t touch you, it seems we’ll have to settle this privately.”

Settling it privately was better; she could use any ans necessary.

She said, articulating every word, “Your Luo Family is dood.”

With the Lu Family speaking out, who in Imperial City would dare to help the Luo Family?

When Luo Huaiyu left the office, he saw Zhou Xufang right at the door, purposely waiting there, “How does it feel to be hitting a wall everywhere?”

Luo Huaiyu gritted his teeth, “Are you behind this?”

She neither confird nor denied, “It’s your retribution coming to you.”

“You—”

He suddenly couldn’t breathe, gasping for air with his neck stretched, his face turning blue, his eyes rolling back, almost fainting.

Zhou Xufang bent down and said, “You haven’t even seen the Luo Family being renad yet, don’t pass away just yet.”

Luo Huaiyu was wheeled out of Lu Family’s place by soone, completely slumped and gasping for breath.

Outside, Luo Yinghe ran over, “Grandpa, how did it go?” She was extrely anxious, chasing after the answer, “Did Lu Sheng agree to help us?”

Luo Huaiyu’s hand on the wheelchair was still shaking.

“Grandpa.”

Luo Yinghe called out, “Grandpa.”

He seed not to hear her, lost in thought.

That night, Tang Guangji’s family was not at ho; they had gone to their hotown to visit relatives, and Zhou Qingrang was at school. Only Zhou Qingng was staying in the villa’s Ping Building outside.

At ten o’clock at night, the rain was falling outside.

“Thump, thump, thump—”

The knocking was urgent and loud.

“Chairman, Chairman!” A servant called from outside, “Sothing’s happened, Chairman!”

He had just gone to bed, got up and donned his clothes to answer the door, “What happened?”

“The young master, he—he—” The servant was sweating profusely and stamring.

“Don’t beat around the bush, tell clearly, what happened to him?”

“The young master is injured, injured in the… that place, blood, blood is non-stop.”

At that ti, the Luo Family only had two granddaughters; there were no boys born outside, which is why he indulged his son’s reckless behavior.

“Where is he?”

“In the bungalow.”

He imdiately rushed over.

The room was in disarray, Luo Changde was wailing, a young girl with disheveled clothes crouched in the corner shaking, her mind appeared dazed and not fully conscious, holding a pair of scissors covered in blood.

“Dad… Dad…” Luo Changde was curled up on the floor, writhing in pain, “Save, save …”

He walked over and kicked him, “Beast!”

But this beast was his only son.

He ordered the servant, “Go call the doctor here.”

At that mont, Xu Yunci heard the commotion and ca, seeing the blood-filled room, she turned pale, “Changde, Changde what’s wrong with you?”

“Yun Ci, have soone clean this place up.”

Xu Yunci looked at the young girl on the floor, “Dad, what exactly happened?”

“Don’t ask anything, just make sure all the servants outside are silenced and replaced.”

It was evident without asking.

Zhou Qingng was indeed at the age of blooming youth, and her appearance was also outstanding. Luo Changde had been coveting her for not just one or two days.

“I, I understand.” Xu Yunci went to handle the aftermath.

Suddenly, the cell phone rang.

Only the old man and the young girl were left in the room, the girl groggy and the old man using a cane to pick up the phone that had fallen in the corner. He glanced at the caller ID and hung up.

He checked the missed calls, got up, and walked toward the girl, “Qing ng, uncle is sorry.”

The girl shrank back, mumbling under her breath. She was calling for soone, she was calling for Qing Rang…

The cane tapped on the ground, making a thudding sound.

The old man walked outside and made a phone call, “Do a favor.”

That year, Zhou Qingrang was fourteen and Zhou Qingng was almost seventeen. The siblings, one had been in a car accident and lost a leg, the other was ntally disturbed and confined in the attic.

Rumors said that Zhou Qingng had an affair and after being abandoned, she lost her sanity. She attempted suicide many tis until a month later when it was discovered she was pregnant.

“Little uncle.”

Tang Xiang called out again, “Little uncle.”

Zhou Qingrang, who had been clenching his hands, loosened his grip and coughed for a long ti, “I’m fine.”

He was asking Tang Xiang about Zhou Xufang; having been in the hospital for fifteen years, he was unaware of many things. His family, Xu Fang, would only share good news and withhold the bad, only telling him the positives.

But how could there be any positive? During her fourteen years at the Luo Family, she had suffered imnsely. Luo Huaiyu was a person who couldn’t tolerate a speck of sand in his eyes—how could he treat her kindly?

He asked, “What happened afterward?”

Tang Xiang said, “Xu Fang was sent abroad by Luo Qinghe’s uncle, and I’m not clear about what happened afterwards.”

“Don’t tell Xu Fang that I asked you these questions.”

Tang Xiang agreed.

Zhou Qingrang then said, “Thank you.”

Tang Xiang shook his head, “Why thank ?”

They were indebted to the Tang Family.

“Our Xu Fang has been raised well, very kindly,” Zhou Qingrang said sadly, adding, “Her temperant is like your father’s.”

With eyes reddening, Tang Xiang nodded. Her father was a very kind man, sotis too ek, and he had joined the Luo Family owing to a favor from Luo Huaiyu.

“Little uncle,” she pointed outside, “Look, your girlfriend ca to pick you up.”

Zhou Qingrang looked up.

A girl stood outside the window, smiling and waving at him.

Zhou Qingrang took his cane and stood up, “I’ll leave now. I’ll visit your mother at the sanatorium this weekend.”

Tang Xiang waved her hand, pointed at him, and then playfully made a heart gesture toward the girl outside.

Zhou Qingrang left the café and walked to the windowfront, taking the girl’s hand, “Why are you here?”

Lu Sheng acknowledged Tang Xiang inside with a nod, saying, “I heard from your assistant that you were out, I guessed you might be here.” It was the café nearest to the TV station and a frequent stop for him.

“Are you busy today?” Zhou Qingrang walked with her across the pedestrian crosswalk, one hand on his cane and the other holding hers.

Lu Sheng stopped, “Busy,” she reached out and hugged him, “but I missed you.” Her eyes were red, and she buried her face in his shoulder.

After seeing Luo Huaiyu, she had thought of him, thought of his fifteen years lying in the hospital from fourteen to twenty-nine, countless days and nights, his youth entirely buried in hospital beds and on operation tables.

He should have been a carefree young man, in the pri of his youth…

“What’s wrong, Shengsheng?”

She sniffled and shook her head, “Zhou Qingrang, you have now, I won’t let anyone hurt you again.”

Last night, Zhou Xufang had co to see her.

“Luo Changde in prison has spoken; it wasn’t my uncle who did it; it was Luo Huaiyu.”

She asked Zhou Xufang, “Is there evidence?”

Zhou Xufang shook his head, “Lu Sheng, I want to teach the Luo Family a lesson, I need your help.”

“If it involves hiring a killer, count in.” She was ready to tear those beasts to pieces.

“Not killing anyone.” Zhou Xufang had planned it thoroughly, step by step paving the way, “What Luo Huaiyu treasures most is the Luo Family’s good reputation and the Luo Corporation.”

Not killing, but there were many ways to exact revenge, of course. Bloodless, yet there were ways to make lives miserable.

The Lu Family values were upright, but Lu Sheng never considered herself a good person, especially towards beasts. She could be despicable and cunning if necessary.

“My coworkers are watching,” Zhou Qingrang said, yet he didn’t let go of her, still holding her waist.

Not far away was the entrance to the TV station, and Zhou Qingrang’s coworkers were looking over.

Lu Sheng wouldn’t let go, “Can they watch?”

He smiled, his temperant kind, “Yes.”

She acted coquettishly, tilting her head up, “Then kiss again.”

He was a gentleman; under the broad daylight, a kiss on the forehead was his boldest gesture.

Lu Sheng didn’t care about that much; right there on the roadside, amidst the crowd, she kissed him.
