Chapter 258: 258: First Love, Heart Flutter, Embrace, Promise a Lifeti (Second Update)

She wanted to give the most beautiful things in the world to that handso young boy.

From the greenhouse, she picked the most beautiful, most noble orchid. To give it to him, she secretly stood outside the Luo Mansion’s window for a very, very long ti.

He saw her.

“What are you skulking around here for?”

She handed him the orchid and bolted away.

Jiang Zhi: “…”

This little fool, why give him a flower?

“What are you standing there for?”

Qiao Nanchu ca out too.

Behind him followed Xue Baoyi. Once he saw the orchid in Jiang Zhi’s hand, he began to tease, “Oh, received flowers, did you?” He squinted and made faces, all not very serious, “Brother Zhi, which lady is it?” He hadn’t seen who it was from inside.

A lady?

It was a little bald kid.

Jiang Zhi didn’t like flowers; he held it and looked for a while but didn’t discard it: “Stop talking nonsense.”

Xue Baoyi, at the age of having springti fantasies, had taken a girl out a few tis on his motorcycle for mahjong gas, fancied himself a ‘casanova’, and assud an experienced air: “How am I talking nonsense? If she gave you flowers, she must have a crush on you.”

“Can’t you keep your mouth shut?” Jiang Zhi, holding the orchid, went inside.

Xue Baoyi, behind him, teased Qiao Nanchu: “Look at him, his face is all red.”

Qiao Nanchu glanced at him, and sure enough, it was red.

Jiang Zhi took the flower back to the Jiang Family. It was the most precious one from the Luo Family’s greenhouse, naturally, Mr. Luo San got a beating.

At night, Tang Guangji ca ho, bringing at with him. He called over the limping Luo San and handed her the takeout at: “Go eat upstairs.”

She was beaten that day and limped a little, but she was very happy, joyfully hugging the at as she went up to the attic.

Tang Guangji muttered behind her: “She’s too thin, need to get her more at to eat.”

He Xiangxiu scoffed, “Having rice to eat is already good enough.”

Where was there at to eat? The Luo Family wanted to punish her. Eating too much could also beco a reason for a beating.

Luo San heard Tang Guangji’s words. She felt that since Jiang Zhi was so thin, he needed to eat at to fatten up.

Later, when Tang Guangji wasn’t at ho and when He Xiangxiu wasn’t watching her, she would sneak into the kitchen, steal at for Jiang Zhi to eat, and even save the dicine she was supposed to take when she was sick, hiding it in her pillow, waiting for Jiang Zhi to co, then give it all to him, because his health was poor and he always needed to take dicine.

Later, winter ca, and Jiang Zhi, being cold-sensitive, rarely visited the Luo Family.

Later, whenever Luo San had free ti, she would squat at the entrance of the Luo Family mansion, aimlessly waiting and waiting, for the person at the sight of whom her heart leapt with joy.

She recognized the Jiangs’ car from a distance.

“Young Master Jiang.”

Jiang Zhi stopped in his tracks: “You go ahead first.”

Jiang Chuan hesitated for a mont but obeyed the command.

“Co out.” Jiang Zhi stood at the entrance of the Luo Mansion, not walking in,

The entrance was flanked by a four- to five-ter-tall cedar tree on each side. Luo San shuffled out from behind a tree, tiptoeing and cowering.

Jiang Zhi looked at her, “What are you hiding here for?”

Waiting for you.

Her dark little face was too thin, making her eyes look oversized.

Winter had set in, and the Imperial City’s winter was very cold, very cold. It rained in the morning, and the wet grounds quickly turned into a layer of thin ice.

In this weather, she was just wearing a single-layer outfit with a work jacket over it. The jacket had five large characters printed on it—Jiajiale Furniture.

Jiang Zhi frowned, “The Luo Family doesn’t even buy you clothes?”

He had asked the old lady at his house about Luo San, who the Luo Family outwardly claid was an adopted child, yet it seed that even the servants got better treatnt than this adopted child.

He glanced at her hands, which had been frozen terribly. He took off his down jacket and gave it to her: “Put it on.”

She didn’t take it, just gazed at him with shining eyes.

He was also cold, shivering, and chided her harshly: “When I tell you to put it on, put it on. Don’t dawdle.”

The down jacket was a short model, black in color, and he wore a white sweater inside, as white as snow.

The down jacket looked nice, and so did he. She took it from him, hugged and touched it for a while, and then put it on.

Little fool.

Leaving the clothes behind, Jiang Zhi turned his head and left.

She ran after him, just a ter or two behind, firmly following.

The boy ahead turned and said to her, “Don’t follow .”

She tiptoed, as quietly, gently, and sneakily as possible… followed behind.

Still following!

The boy in front deliberately walked faster, and the little bald kid behind also sped up.

It had rained in the morning, and there was thin ice on the ground. He walked too fast, his feet slipped, and he started to fall backward, but she imdiately shortened her steps and went to embrace him, also taking a stance behind him, firmly supporting his waist.

Jiang Zhi: “…”

Damn this posture!

He cursed the wretched weather in his heart, but his face remained composed as he straightened up and glanced at the hand still resting on his waist, “Aren’t you going to let go?”

Two boys, supporting each other like this, what did it look like!

Luo San quickly let go; her hand was dirty, and it happened that he was wearing a white sweater, which now bore several black handprints where she had grabbed him.

Filthy!

Jiang Zhi dusted off his sweater but failed to remove the marks, and with a huff, he moved forward.

Luo San followed behind, afraid he might fall again. With arms outstretched and legs wide like a horse stance, she walked behind him like a crab.

The boy ahead turned back to look and chided with a laugh, “Idiot.”

That idiot smiled happily.

After escorting Jiang Zhi back inside, Luo San went to sweep. The drizzly rain was intermittent, and fearing that the path might ice over and he might fall, she spread a layer of coarse sand on the road. The road was no longer slippery, but it dirtied the shoes.

In the afternoon, Luo San was summoned by the second young miss.

“Did you spread the sand on the road?”

Luo Yinghe, who disdained Luo San for being dirty, had never allowed her a step inside the mansion; they stood outside in the yard, where the cold was intense. The outdoor pool had developed a thin layer of ice, due to neglect.

Luo San nodded.

Luo Yinghe tossed her used sports shoes at her, “Clean these.”

Oh.

She squatted down and picked up the shoes.

Luo Yinghe was about to enter the house when she noticed Luo San’s clothes, “Where did you get that outfit?”

It was given by Jiang Zhi. It was far too big for her, like a child wearing adult clothes.

Luo Yinghe eyed the down jacket on her, “You stole it, didn’t you?”

Luo San imdiately shook her head.

How could it not be stolen, such an expensive brand. Luo Yinghe was convinced that her hands were unclean, “You were stealing food before, and now you’re stealing clothes.” She stepped forward, grabbing Luo San by the sleeve, “How can you afford such expensive clothing?” She ordered, “Take it off.”

The usually passive and silent Luo San resisted for the first ti. She held onto her clothing with one hand while shoving Luo Yinghe with the other.

Luo Yinghe stumbled backward, furious, “I told you to take it off!”

Luo San turned to run.

Luo Yinghe grabbed the hat of her down jacket and yanked it with force. Using the montum of her backward fall, she pushed her into the swimming pool.

With a splash, water flew everywhere.

Servants ca running over at the noise and saw the second young miss standing by the pool, raging, “You’ve dirtied my pool. Don’t co out until it’s clean!”

In the pool struggled Luo San.

“Second young miss,” a servant said, “he doesn’t seem to know how to swim.”

Luo Yinghe scoffed, “As if he could drown.”

She just stood there watching.

Not far away, the Luo Family’s other servants were out watching the entertainnt, buzzing with gossip.

“Isn’t that Luo San?”

“Yes.”

“He offended the second young miss and got punished to clean the pool.”

“Idiots will be idiots, didn’t even think to drain the water.”

“…”

Jiang Chuan was leading the way in front, telling Jiang Zhi about the old lady’s summons when soone suddenly ran past them.

“Young master!”

Jiang Chuan was a step too slow, watching helplessly as the boy who gasped from just walking leaped into the pool. This was bad; he might lose half his life…

It was so abrupt; Luo Yinghe couldn’t even see who it was, “Who jumped in?”

The servants saw the frantic Jiang Chuan: “It looks like, it’s Young Master Jiang.”

Luo Yinghe panicked now, “Well, don’t just stand there, go rescue him!”

When they pulled up the person, it indeed was Jiang Zhi!

Jiang Zhi couldn’t swim; the water was chillingly cold, and he, frail and with poor health, swallowed plenty of water, the icy liquid filling his lungs, and fell gravely ill, nearly losing his life.

For the whole afternoon, Jiang Zhi suffered from an untreatable high fever and unconsciousness.

In his stupor, he heard a hoarse voice calling him.

“Jiang Zhi.”

“Jiang Zhi.”

“Jiang Zhi.”

His eyelashes fluttered, unable to open his eyes, in a daze.

At the bedside, a little Bald knelt.

“Jiang Zhi.” She wiped her hand on herself before gripping his, “From now on, I’ll treat you well.”

She said, with eyes reddened, “I’ll treat you very, very well.”
