Gu Juexi walked up to the desk, put both hands on the table and bent over. He was only inches away from her as he said teasingly, “Are you jealous?”
Ye Yuwei leaned back in her chair, keeping her distance from the man with her arms crossed.
“Gu Juexi, you owe an explanation. Who is she?” Ye Yuwei interrogated in a cold and tense tone. She could have a calm conversation with him on all topics except when it involved won.
Gu Juexi was amused and raised his eyebrows at the woman who was obviously enraged. “Mo Fei.”
“I know what her na is,” Ye Yuwei snapped bitterly.
“She is one of the top five hitn in the world,” Gu Juexi said simply. He stood and watched as the blood drained from Ye Yuwei’s face.
Ye Yuwei rubbed her neck unconsciously. She felt that the whole thing had taken a wild turn to horror, considering the fact that an elite hitman was by her side.
“Is she here to kill ?” Ye Yuwei asked in a frightened tone, getting to her feet.
“She won’t dare to even if I give her a head start,” Gu Juexi sneered. He advanced slowly toward Ye Yuwei, grabbed her by her waist and wrapped her in his embrace. He asked gently, “So tell , has anything strange happened today?”
“I heard about a woman frequenting your office last year, does that count?” Ye Yuwei asked in a threatening voice.
Gu Juexi narrowed his eyes upon the remark, lowering his head to nip her lips and said, “No.”
Ye Yuwei pondered and replied, “Then no, nothing unusual today.”
Gu Juexi decided not to give his wife the benefit of the doubt as her lacking intelligence might miss seeing or sensing sothing dangerous.
Anyhow, he was reassured of her safety since she had him at ho and Mo Fei at the office.
He was curious as to who targeted Ye Yuwei.
“What are you doing here?” Ye Yuwei raised her gaze and t his eyes. It was only 4.30 pm, still early by office standards.
Gu Juexi pressed another kiss to her cheek then let her go. Still the sa old bad boy behind closed doors.
“I ca over to give you a ride ho. Where are the roses I gave you this morning?” Gu Juexi scanned the room but failed to find the bouquet in her office. He pursed his lips in disappointnt.
She rolled her eyes at him in disgust when he ntioned the bouquet and snapped, “Mr. Gu, please knock so sense into yourself. Don’t do sothing if you don’t an it.”
“I never thought that I would have to use my intelligence on a woman. You are the first one, you should feel honored.” Gu Juexi glared at her for disregarding his efforts.
Ye Yuwei smiled fakely and exclaid in irritation, “Gu Juexi, if not for the fact that I don’t want my children to be fatherless, I would have killed you by now. Get out of my sight!”
