"It’s ti you learned the truth."

Holander placed both hands firmly on Ryan’s shoulders and rocketed straight up into the sky with him.

"Ryan!" Becca scread in panic. She ran out onto the lawn, waving her arms desperately at the sky. "Put him down right now!"

"Relax. Ryan isn’t a normal kid," Ivan tried to calm her, but it was useless. Becca was convinced Holander was trying to steal her son. She had completely lost it and only wanted Ryan back in her arms.

Up in the air, Ryan’s initial terror slowly faded. "This is amazing."

"How does it feel? Only from up here can you truly look down on everything. This is sothing Becca could never give you," Holander said, his voice smooth and tempting.

"The buildings on the ground look so tiny." Ryan was starting to get addicted to the rush of flying. It was a brand-new perspective he had never experienced.

"You can do this too, if you want."

After flying around with his son for a while, Holander finally landed on the roof of Becca’s villa. He wasn’t insane enough to drop Ryan from thousands of feet. He just wanted to trigger his powers, not kill him.

"Try it." Holander glanced down. The roof was only five or six ters high, and there was soft grass below.

But for Ryan, that height felt terrifying. He took one look down and imdiately shook his head. "No way. I can’t do it. I’ll die if I fall."

"You’re my son. You were born to fly. Just do what I say. Take a deep breath, step forward, and your body will fly on its own." Honestly, Holander only had this level of patience because it was his own son.

"No, I’ll just fall straight down and—"

Seeing how pathetic his son was acting, Holander’s temper exploded. His face turned ice-cold. Ignoring Becca’s frantic screams, he shoved Ryan off the roof. "Ryan! Open your eyes!"

"Ahhh!!" Ryan scread as he plumted and slamd hard into the grass. There wasn’t even a hint of his powers awakening.

"Ryan! Oh my God!" Becca rushed over and pulled her son tightly into her arms.

"..."

Seeing the scene, Holander flew down to Ivan with clear disappointnt. "Sorry. I really didn’t expect... Looks like Ryan can’t join our plan for now."

"It’s fine. I understand. He will awaken his powers. It’s only a matter of ti."

A little while later, Ryan finally woke up from passing out. Becca fought hard to hold back her rage as she helped her son back inside the house to rest.

"Wait." Holander stepped in front of her and grabbed her wrist hard. He didn’t control his strength, so Becca felt like her bones were about to snap. Seeing the pain on his mother’s face...

Ryan suddenly shoved Holander and sent him flying.

"Don’t you hurt her!" Ryan’s eyes glowed bright red as he angrily warned his father.

Holander lay on the ground, staring at the red glow in his son’s eyes. Instead of getting angry, he burst out laughing toward Ivan. "Greevs, did you see that? My son actually knocked down! Hahaha!"

"Mr. Greevs, I’d like to talk to you."

Becca ignored the overjoyed Holander on the ground and took Ryan inside the villa.

"Go do your math howork first. I need to talk to this gentleman for a bit." Ryan looked warily at Ivan and raised his little fist protectively in front of his mother. "Don’t you dare bully my mom, or I’ll teach you a lesson."

Ivan didn’t take a kid’s threat seriously. He just smiled and stayed quiet.

"Alright, go on now." After sending Ryan away, Becca grabbed a bottle of mineral water from the fridge and handed it to Ivan. "Sorry about Ryan’s rudeness."

"It’s fine. He’s a great kid." Ivan took the water and sat down on the sofa across from her, waiting for Becca to start the conversation.

"You were right. Ryan lost control easily. You saw what happened. His strength is already way beyond a normal person. If this keeps going, I’m scared of what might happen." Becca’s defenses had completely crumbled. She covered her face, voice cracking with tears.

Truth was, she had been terrified by the examples Ivan brought up earlier. A mother’s love made her irrational.

At the sa ti, Holander stood outside leaning against the door with his hands behind his back, pretending to be calm. His ears twitched slightly as he listened.

"Ms. Becca, that’s exactly why I ca here today. If you’re willing, I can bring Ryan to Vought. Our professionals will teach him how to properly control his powers."

"Besides that, I’m planning to create a junior version of The Seven. The kids will be around the sa age. We’ll let the public watch and supervise them, helping them build the right values. This is actually laying the groundwork for Vought’s future youth program."

Becca looked confused. "Youth program?"

"Well, it will be a Compound V Superhuman Standardised Vocational Technical Academy, or simply Compound V Academy. Its purpose is to properly guide and teach young supes how to use their powers. They won’t be allowed to graduate until they’ve fully mastered their abilities." Ivan added.

"Besides the supe-related courses, everything else is exactly like a normal college — math, music, the works."

After listening to Ivan’s explanation, Becca’s eyes gradually lit up. "The plan sounds really good. When is Vought going to implent it?"

Ivan shook his head. "Actually, this plan has another big benefit. It prevents supes from facing discrimination in regular schools. Supes are so rare compared to normal people. Data shows that twenty-seven percent of supes experience discrimination from regular humans during their school years. They get labeled as freaks, monsters, and worse."

"Luckily, thanks to Vought’s publicity, supes are increasingly seen as superheroes, so there isn’t much open opposition."

"As for when Vought can actually launch this program, it might take a little more ti."

"Why not start it as soon as possible?"

The twenty-seven percent statistic clearly unsettled Becca. She didn’t want Ryan to ever be branded a monster.

"Because we need test subjects first. That’s why I want to start with a small group of young supes to see if the idea actually works," Ivan explained with a smile.

"I see." Becca finally understood why Ivan had co for Ryan.

After a long mont of hesitation, and terrified of Ryan one day becoming a murderer, she finally nodded. "I agree. But I have three conditions. First, Ryan can’t leave my side. If I want to see him, I can see him anyti."

"No problem."

"Second, Holander is not allowed to teach him."

Becca’s second demand made Ivan frown. After a few seconds, he said, "I’ll do my best. I hope you can understand our position."

What he really ant was that Holander was too powerful for Vought to control.

"I understand." If Ivan had agreed too easily, Becca would have suspected he was just brushing her off. She quickly stated her third condition. "Third, I want you to promise to take Ryan as your godson."

To make sure Ivan would genuinely look after Ryan, this was the solution she had co up with. It was smart. Even Ivan hadn’t seen it coming.
