Chapter 863: Chapter 595: The Plane War Launched to Save More Than a Dozen People_2

It wasn’t advantageous originally; now it has beco even more troubleso.

The rain kept pouring and pouring, gradually turning into a flood, as if it was going to swallow the entire world.

The undead struggled to move through it, with every step they took being dragged by the rapid currents beneath their feet. The deeper they went, the higher the water rose, subrging up to their waists.

“Hey, anyone who can fly, help us out!”

“Can’t fly, we’re grounded.”

“Damn!”

All sorts of curses filled the air.

In such terrible conditions, the fact that the red-armored soldiers were also slowed down by the rain, making it difficult for them to move, was perhaps the only good news.

“Anyone know how to use water magic?”

“Over here.”

“Attack the water in front of us!”

By attacking the surface of the water to push forward, their running speed increased, and with the help of undead who specialized in frost magic, they started surfing on the waves.

“Woohoo~”

“Ohhh——”

The rescued mage NPCs looked at each other in bewildernt. It was their first ti seeing people being chased and still finding fun in it, and the way they used magic was beyond their understanding.

“There’s a curse in the water.” The mage NPCs’ expressions beca very grim.

Bad situations ca one after another.

Although Lord Jawbone had not gone far down the path of curses, the unfortunate part was that this land was called the Cursed Land, where curses were as omnipresent as magic elents in the Material Plane.

“Take this.” An undead reached out and handed over a pill.

“What’s this?”

“Curse Resistance dicine.”

How could soone in an Abyss Set not have resistance dicine? The Abyss Rift monsters they encountered were much crazier in terms of curses than anything in this world. A short nap in there might max out their curse gauge, unlike this world where curses were present but stable.

The mage NPCs looked puzzled.

How do you guys have everything?

“Up ahead, we broke through!”

“Isn’t Lord Jawbone chasing us?”

“Maybe we’re not important.”

Indeed, only a few hundred had escaped, hardly significant compared to the massive army behind.

So fanatical chanical believers and so depleted mages had no value either.

The strange thing was that as soon as they left the area, it was like passing through an invisible barrier. Looking back, dark clouds hung over the Third Tower Stone Pillar, with the raging floodwater held back by an invisible air wall just an arm’s length away.

Thunder roared on that side, while on this side, a gentle breeze blew.

Qiu stretched out his hand, lightly touching the water with his fingertips before quickly withdrawing, feeling sothing. Almost reflexively, he threw a magic bullet.

A red-armored soldier with a shattered body broke through the barrier, stumbling with sticky rainwater.

“Splat!”

The magic bullet hit his forehead, knocking off his helt.

Before he could make another move, Qiu struck again, sending a fla arrow into his eye socket, pushing him back into the flood with a powerful impact.

“Move!”

Temporarily freed from the constraints at the rear, the undead rushed ahead at full speed, using all sorts of ways to travel, astonishing the mage NPCs.

Pushed by the pace of war, they approached the portal they ca from.

“The teleportation gate is just ahead.”

However, the still ongoing anti-invasion war was the biggest obstacle in their path.

“What is this?”

The mage NPCs couldn’t understand. When they heard that their companions would co to help rescue them, they thought that only a small group would handle the extraction.

They just needed to move carefully, keeping a low profile.

But contrary to their expectations, the rescuers were brazen and nurous!

There were so many it was suffocating.

Was this war really launched just to save a dozen of us? What had they done to deserve this?

“This is a planar war.”

A huge number of enemies clashed with the “humans” rushing in the anti-invasion. The terrifying battle saw waves of fierce flas erupting.

Thunder roared, light surged, water gushed forth, and blood splattered.

In battles of this magnitude, individual power ant nothing. Most had gone berserk, blindly swinging their weapons, claiming enemy lives under the guidance of the Grim Reaper.

Or… failing in their attack, paving the way for their own demise.

“They suddenly beca very crazy.”

The Secret Master beside Mag observed, seeing the overall situation on the battlefield. Even though the Curse Soldiers held an absolute advantage, the endless invasion made them feel powerless.

How many enemies were there?

The unknown was the scariest part.

The sudden burst of attack allowed the undead to tear a small gap in the front line, escorting the mage NPCs who had returned from the Third Tower Stone Pillar.

Like ants crossing a firewall, they huddled together, sacrificing so on the outside to protect those in the center.

“It looks like they’re trying to escort so people away.” The Secret Master said.

“We can’t stop them.” Mag replied.

Although he knew there was sothing wrong with those who were being desperately sent back, it was too late to stop them. The berserk Material Plane invaders might not be able to completely break through Mag’s defense, but he truly had no way to prevent them from protecting a dozen mages.

Once the mages were successfully escorted through the teleportation gate, the air suddenly fell quiet.

It was as if a significant mission had been completed.

Those who had been launching suicidal attacks began to kill themselves.

They couldn’t win, couldn’t escape, and gained nothing. The more they fought, the worse it got. So the undead chose to commit suicide to leave the current map.

This map was too difficult; they needed to rethink their strategy.

At the Third Tower Stone Pillar, within the area covered by dark clouds and torrential rain, the battle continued to be stalemated.

The encirclent took shape. Though so escaped and so were killed, it was a great harvest for Lord Jawbone, capturing a large number of Material Plane mages who could use magic crazily.

“Let’s get out of here, no more playing.”

“I’m going too, back to watching the plot.”

“The monsters in this map are too insane.”

Bang, bang, bang, bang…

The undead rapidly committed suicide, turning into ashes and being swallowed by the heavy rain, disappearing without a trace.

The dark clouds dispersed.

Visibility improved, revealing the stormy whirlpool with bodies floating around like a scene of despair in purgatory.

“Roar——!”

Lord Jawbone, who had been silent, let out a long howl.

Mag stared blankly at the battlefield, his mind racing. He had to think clearly about how to handle the questioning from the red-robed mage.

The massive casualties, no gains, and the failed invasion turning into a reverse invasion, even though they ultimately defended successfully, defending wasn’t his job. Successfully breaking through the enemy’s defenses and invading the Material Plane was.

Mag suddenly regretted not throwing himself into the at grinder of a battlefield. Perhaps if he was seriously injured, he could escape so punishnt.

He wondered if it was too late to discreetly injure himself now.

He looked down at his arm and leg but couldn’t find a part he could easily sacrifice. Finally, he gave up.

“Boom!”

The violent tremor of space pulled Mag’s attention back.

The Secret Master’s voice ca from beside him.

“They blew up the teleportation gate.”

“What?”

Mag was confused. The teleportation gate was stable, why blow it up?

Then he thought of a terrifying possibility.

“They’re trying to open up a passage to the Cursed Land!”

Those Material Plane lunatics might think this invasion pace isn’t thrilling enough and decided to blow it wide open for more people to co through.

As soon as this idea arose, it grew wildly like weeds.

“Absolutely not!”

Mag turned and ordered, “Give the order imdiately, do not stabilize the teleportation gate for now to prevent more from coming through. Wait until I talk to the red-robed mage.”

“Yes, sir.”
