749: Chapter 541: NPCs Have Slly Hands Too 749: Chapter 541: NPCs Have Slly Hands Too “NPCs that can steal BOSSes?”

As Lind lanted the terrifying economic benefits created by the Undead for themselves, he also stumbled upon a video of Undead griping about NPCs.

The video detailed the NPCs that left the Undead speechless, citing the excessive number of NPCs everywhere.

After sifting through them, it summarized the top 100 NPCs recognized by the vast majority of people.

Lind ranked 79th, with the reason being his habit of wandering off and becoming unfindable, stalling the storyline.

“Why not just go and kill the Ring Knights?

Why co looking for if you can’t beat them?”

The main quest wasn’t wrong; just slaying those Ring Knights would suffice, but they stood no chance against them, reviving upon each encounter.

And ranking first, to no surprise, was Magdalena.

Reason: BOSS stealing!

More and more Undead were finding their BOSSes snatched away when reduced to low health, by none other than Magdalena who would spring out from who knows where.

Her ability to hide was strong, and her strength was not sothing average Undead could match.

Each ti, a giant Wolf would pounce out, bite the BOSS to death when it was weak, then turn around and leave nonchalantly.

There was enough footage of her BOSS steals to make several video compilations, and the resentnt among the Undead was building up fast.

“Maybe in so ti, the Undead will start slaughtering NPCs.”

If Magdalena, as a “mainline NPC,” was personally killed by the Undead, it would indeed be a bit too miserable for her.

“And they really do put in the hard work.”

All of her subordinate Deities, without exception, were lazy dogs who did only what was required of them.

Even the “most loyal” Subli Angel, flitting about as a social butterfly, perford tasks with a surprising lack of efficiency.

Without Lind’s explicit command, they would even intentionally avoid conflict with other powerful entities.

The sudden appearance of a sturdy and capable divine body gave Lind a jolt of inspiration.

“Do you like doing quests that much?”

While Lind pondered how to convert Magdalena into a more suitable workhorse for himself.

The busy Magdalena returned to the War Throne once again.

During her frenzied actions, she had finally killed many 5-ring powerhouses, and since she did it “alongside” the Undead, she didn’t worry about her actions provoking other powerhouses.

What’s more, her gains were substantial; for completing the [King of Black Phosphorus’s Fury] quest, she could obtain 10 Treasure Vault Keys, and now she held 60 keys in her hands.

“You t with the King of Black Phosphorus?” Corruption King Grace asked upon seeing her.

“Enormously huge.”

Magdalena nodded, her gaze lifting unconsciously.

Even from a great distance one could sense the frightful size of the giant dragon, but it paled in comparison to the shock of looking up and seeing it loom overhead, fully dominating the view.

“And also, very…” She paused and emphasized her next word, “…personable!”

“Personable?”

“Yes, we had a long chat.” Magdalena said with a smile.

She believed her initial plan had been a success; no one would have thought she, seemingly weak, could et with a mighty dragon and receive its kindly care.

Although Corruption King Grace wondered how the dragon’s good will ca so easily, she understood it probably wasn’t a bad thing.

“We have an appointnt to et with Prince Armand this afternoon,” said Grace.

“There’s plenty of ti.”

Magdalena held a key in her hand.

“Shall we have a look at the rewards then?”

“Sounds good.”

The treasury of the King of Black Phosphorus was located in a Holy Temple not far from the Dragon Nest where the King of Black Phosphorus rested.

All Deities in the War Throne could have a Holy Temple of their own, with vast territories, complete with Bishops, Priests, and other positions, allowing them to recruit a workforce or employ the Undead to perform duties.

Nearly all Deities had given up on having the Undead take on important positions, possibly related to the near-war among gods so ti ago, a secret whispered only in hushed tones, with no one knowing the specifics.

Everyone knows that the accuracy and credibility of rumors can sotis exceed official statents, they aren’t without basis.

A dragon’s treasure is often a key figure in stories, with tales of soone acquiring a dragon’s hoard and becoming rich enough to rival nations and marry a princess being nurous.

This was a sealed terrace with a glass do ceiling perched at mid-mountain, offering a bird’s-eye view of the entire city below.

Many Undead were gathered here, keys in their possession.

“The competition is quite fierce.” Magdalena said in surprise.

She had expended much effort to get these keys, only to find so many other Undead had managed to secure them too.

How many were there?

Tens of millions, and even more were coming.

“We’re going to open the treasury.” Magdalena declared to the curious looks of other Undead.

Murmurs surrounded them.

“NPCs here for the lottery draw?”

“Could it be that a new collaborative prize pool has been launched?”

“Well played on the advertising.”

“Damn it, that freeloading NPC, stealing our kills and now using the keys that should belong to us for the draw, just wait, I will discipline you when I’m strong enough to beat you.”

Magdalena remained poised amidst the hubbub, having heard all sorts of trash talk during her ti headhunting.

All she did was lend a helping hand during the Undead’s trying tis, no thanks needed.

Thinking of how those Undead were shalessly cheating her out of money, or abandoning her assignnts to do other things, she was seething with anger.

Mutual deception, bring it on.

A golden door stood ahead.

A burly and handso knight in jewel-studded armor spoke up.

As he moved his hands, the jewels adorning the armor shifted, colliding and reflecting the sunlight streaming in from the glass ceiling, enveloping his body in an extraordinary glow.
