"What?"
Qin Xi and Qin ng spoke in unison.
They looked at their mother’s belly with surprise.
It appeared flat right now, but inside, there was a new life.
Qin Dazhuang clenched his teeth.
"Your mom is three months pregnant. We called you down today because we wanted to specifically seek your opinions. Are you welcoming this soon-to-arrive sister or brother?"
Qin Dazhuang deliberately put the brother part after, and spoke in a very low voice.
Fearing that his two daughters might think he wanted a boy.
Although he had this thought, he absolutely did not want his daughters to misunderstand him as soone who favored boys over girls.
He genuinely had no such bias.
"Mom, really?"
Jiang Xin’s face flushed, she couldn’t help but blush.
Facing her teenage daughters, suddenly becoming pregnant felt so strange.
What would her daughters think?
"Really!"
With difficulty, Jiang Xin responded, lowering her eyelids, not daring to look at her daughters’ expressions.
Whether this new life would be welcod by her daughters was an unknown.
She was very anxious.
"Actually, it wouldn’t be a problem not to have this child, since family planning doesn’t permit it, and having the child would also incur fines. Mom is worried at this age if she can still take care of him (or her), and having both of you is already enough for ."
Jiang Xin didn’t want her daughters to be disappointed, as they had endured so much with her throughout their lives.
She could live without anything, but she didn’t want her daughters to get hurt.
"Mom! That’s truly wonderful!"
Qin Xi rushed over but stopped her movents just as she was about to touch Jiang Xin, realizing she was being too rough.
Stunned, she lowered her hand and eagerly sat beside Jiang Xin.
Qin ng also ran over and carefully sat beside their mother.
"Mom, can I touch him? Is it a boy or a girl?"
Her curious tone carried a bit of nervousness.
Qin Dazhuang let out a long breath; his daughters didn’t show resistance or hostility, and that was the best outco.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t know how to convince them.
The palm and the back of the hand are both flesh, he certainly didn’t want his daughters to feel uncomfortable because of this child.
Not knowing where his biological parents are, the only thing he was sure of was that his wife and daughters ant everything to him.
"It’s still too early to know whether it’s a boy or a girl! Even if they knew, doctors wouldn’t tell, to avoid gender bias."
Jiang Xin touched her belly, taking her daughter’s hand and placing it on her stomach.
"He’s not big enough yet; you can’t feel him."
Talking about the child, Jiang Xin couldn’t help but be filled with maternal love.
After all, it’s her flesh and blood.
It’s impossible to have no feelings.
Qin ng touched her mother’s belly, her face full of wonder, "Mom, go ahead and have the baby. Whether it’s a brother or a sister, they’ll be our sibling. You won’t be able to manage, but my sister and I will help you take care of him, making sure you don’t get tired."
Qin ng greatly envied those who had younger siblings. Being the youngest at ho, she always wanted to experience being an older sister. She never thought it would be possible, yet during her high school years ca this surprise.
Taking care of younger siblings seed like a blissful thing.
She could earn money, help her mom look after the baby after school, and grow close to them!
Thinking of a little tag-along behind her, adorably calling her sister.
Qin ng felt more than willing.
Qin Xi also gently said, "Mom, Ladi is right, both having a brother or sister is great. We will grow up not being by your side, but there will still be a brother or sister to keep you company, rest assured we will all help you.
And besides, isn’t there my dad? My dad should naturally take on more responsibility."
She threw a cool glance at Qin Dazhuang.
Her dad’s little intentions couldn’t be hidden from anyone.
Wasn’t it just because he still wanted a son?
To them, whether it’s a brother or sister doesn’t matter; both are confident they can be their best selves.
Neither worried about the future.
Qin Xi’s grades were excellent, almost guaranteed to get into a prestigious university, and future employnt was unconcerning. Qin ng had a natural business mind.
She excelled in studies and, on top of that, had the ability to do business and earn money, which was sothing her older sister admired; she had a rigid mindset.
Although she could think of ways to make money beyond studying, at most she would consider tutoring others or doing so part-ti jobs.
But her younger sister was different; she was very savvy in financial matters since she was young, and in business she excelled.
When they were in elentary school, their father always drove them to and from places, hardly any ti for mischief. But since middle school, having late tutoring tis, her sister frequently made small efforts, or else how could her sister have saved these tens of thousands?
A little kid, with her own capabilities, earned tens of thousands in three years, sothing even adults might not be able to achieve.
The two of them had experienced many things following their parents since childhood, they never considered their parents’ earnings as their own; their only thought was to prove, with their own abilities, their ability to support their parents.
Instead of hoping to get more from their parents.
So whether their parents have a brother or sister, it’s just another family mber for them.
Neither thought much of their parents’ wealth, despite their father’s restaurant growing more successful and their mother’s clothing store expanding to a clothing factory.
In their minds, they weren’t interested; they aspired to start their ventures.
Qin Xi was drawn to electronic information, keeping up with rapid technological changes, delving into digital programming with significant effort, encouraged by her aunt to develop in this field, told that future decades might be dominated by electronic technology.
Upon hearing their daughters’ words, Qin Dazhuang almost cheered, his face blossoming with a smile.
Having faced the potential obstacle of their daughters’ opinions—both parents held their daughters’ perspectives to the utmost importance—them willingly agreeing was a huge relief, in stark contrast to needing persuasion.
Previously anxious, Qin Dazhuang practically wanted to kiss his daughters.
"Rest assured ladies, whether it’s a brother or a sister, the family assets will be split equally among the three. No bias favoring boys over girls. Whether we have a brother or sister, they will consider you two their closest kin."
Having won over their daughters, Qin Dazhuang was imdiately joyful, unafraid to say anything.
Qin Xi and Qin ng couldn’t bear to look at their father, his joy splitting his face to the cheeks.
And yet he claid not to prefer sons over daughters.
