In the round-bottod cave, there was no sunlight, only the faint white moss attached to the cave walls emitted a weak glow.
Colin stood quietly in place, cautiously watching the several golden Insect Monsters that had just fallen.
After entering the cave, he had always used witchcraft to conceal his presence, so these golden Insect Monsters should not have been able to find him.
Click-click-click—
There was a noise from the cave wall, and the long narrow crack in the do that had opened suddenly closed again.
Colin instinctively looked up, feeling sothing strange in his heart.
"That narrow crack... it doesn’t seem to have been broken open by the golden Insect Monsters?"
"Hiss—hiss—"
At this mont, the golden Insect Monsters suddenly emitted a strange hissing sound—it sounded... particularly frightened?
Colin watched cautiously, but suddenly widened his eyes.
The golden Insect Monsters that landed on the ground appeared to have fallen into so kind of terrifying mire as their bodies kept sinking, soon to be subrged by the gray-black ground!
"Hiss—!"
Buzz!!
The golden Insect Monsters naturally would not wait to die; they suddenly hissed and their bodies burst out with dazzling golden light.
Bang!
The gray-black ground covering them exploded under the attack of the golden light, forming little pits, and the golden Insect Monsters rapidly climbed upwards with their segnted long legs.
"This power level... only First Rank?" Colin speculated after careful observation.
Compared to the golden Insect Monsters’ appearances, this strength was far too weak... He knew that none of the monsters he encountered in the deeper layers of the cave were below First Rank strength, and so even vaguely reached the Third Rank.
Then there was that ground... Why did the golden Insect Monsters sink into it? He had just walked over there...
Colin furrowed his brows, thought for a mont, and then stepped forward, preparing to capture these few golden Insect Monsters.
Rustle-rustle—
But before he could act, the figures of the golden Insect Monsters that were about to reach level ground suddenly disappeared by a large margin.
Upon closer inspection, the surrounding ground that had been blown apart sohow rolled back, quietly piling uphill steep slopes outside the pits blasted out by the golden Insect Monsters, then forcefully collapsed, transforming into a horrifying gray-black tidal wave that subrged them again!
Colin furrowed his brow, leaped forward, and with a slight wave of his hand, two invisible Force Field hands crisply grabbed the nearest golden Insect Monster, swept away the gray-black rock flow covering it, and pulled it up from the ground!
At the sa ti, the faint blue sheen of Temple Ring Binding also fell upon the golden Insect Monster, firmly immobilizing it.
These golden Insect Monsters were valuable research subjects; he couldn’t just watch them be swallowed by the cave!
Click-crackle-click—
If this golden Insect Monster had intelligence, it might thank Colin at this mont; the gray-black rock flow kept surging, and its remaining companions completely sank into the ground within a few breaths. Although golden light flashed continuously, it had no effect whatsoever against the gray-black tidal wave.
’The rock walls in the deeper layers of this cave... are indeed sowhat strange.’ Colin was sowhat alard, but soon he knitted his brows again, "It seems that the rock walls of this round cave are even stranger, the previous walls didn’t appear so... aggressively invasive.
However, there is also a high chance that it’s because the target is different. After all, when I first arrived at this cave, the rock walls weren’t displaying such unusual behavior."
The latter inference seed more logical, but Colin still felt sothing was off. He instinctively looked up at the do once more.
’Above... what is that place? If the rock walls in the deeper layers of the cave are ’hunting’ the golden monsters, how could they have co here?’
’Indeed, the greater likelihood is that there’s sothing abnormal with these cave walls here!’ Colin concluded,
"If speaking of abnormalities... The biggest difference between this rock wall and the other rock walls in the deeper layers of the cave, is probably that strange fluctuation..."
Rustle-rustle—
Just as Colin was deep in thought with a frown, the gray-black ground of the cave below suddenly started surging violently.
Whoosh-whoosh-whoosh!
Several bamboo shoot-like gray-black spikes suddenly erged, aiming directly at the golden monster by Colin’s side!
Swoosh!
Colin, with the monster, slightly shifted his position, effortlessly avoiding the gray-black stalagmites’ attack.
Whoosh—
But the cave wall, almost as if it were alive, did not give up the chase; sharp stalagmites ca attacking from all directions—floor, do, nearby walls... in just an instant, Colin’s space to maneuver was almost entirely compressed!
He slightly knitted his brows, a thought stirring in his mind.
Boom!!
Monroe resistance Force Field!
A spherical semi-transparent Force Field erged around Colin, then suddenly expanded, destroying all the approaching stalagmites!
The entire round-bottod cave, which had just been covered in spikes, now reverted to a vacant state with Colin’s strike.
Yet, the stalagmites, heavily impacted, did not shatter like normal rock but instead transford into pools of flowing gray-black substance, like sludge.
Then, in the next mont, they coalesced into new stalagmites and attacked Colin again!
This ti, the stalagmites, whether in terms of speed or appearance, appeared much more powerful than before!
’This place is not safe to stay.’
Taking advantage of the still unsealed space, Colin discerned the direction and prepared to temporarily leave by the path he had co through.
However, after moving for a mont, he was stunned to find that the path he had co through had mysteriously disappeared!
What was more troubleso, the surfaces of the surrounding rock walls, even the overall shape of the cave, had undergone trendous changes—it was nearly impossible for the naked eye to discern where the original path had been!
