Chapter 678: Chapter 422: The Wandering Serf

Roon Kingdom, Golden Barley.

Today’s weather was not particularly good; although it wasn’t raining, the unending dark clouds obscured the blue sky, casting a certain gloom.

However, the weather bears no mood, whether bright or dark, it is we who ascribe feelings to it.

At least today, although the weather was not great, the people of the Roon Family were all in high spirits.

A grand celebration was held in the Roon Palace.

“Your Majesty, it is ti to prepare for the coronation,” Joe, clad in a magnificent white Wizard Robe, said to Jennifer beside him.

The young girl was dressed in elaborate ceremonial attire, her custom silver-and-gold robe lending her youthful face an added air of dignity and charm, like a rose blooming fervently in spring.

Inside the golden hall, all the ministers bowed their heads in solemn standing, and the honor guard gripped their spears tightly.

Jennifer took a breath and walked toward the golden Throne.

Bang!

Bang Bang Bang!

The Magic Cannons bood, and under the star-like, dazzling golden ribbons, Colin placed the symbolic triangular coronet of royalty on the head of Jennifer before the Throne.

Making Jennifer the Queen was his wish.

He needed soone to manage the affairs of the Roon Kingdom, or rather, the entire Tilai Plain.

It was an important position, requiring a trustworthy and capable person.

After consideration, Jennifer was the best choice.

This girl had left a good impression on him, and by making her the Queen, the Roon Family behind her would naturally assist in the administration.

As a Family that had ruled this land for a thousand years, Colin could think of no one better suited for the role.

As for Tutor Atbolde and Senior Sister Lillian, he had more important tasks for them.

After the festivities ended.

Colin finally had ti to take stock of the gifts he had received during this period.

Managing the Tilai Plain was essential, but in this world where mighty power flowed within oneself, strength was the most crucial matter.

Not to ntion, now was a ti of war, the future was uncertain, and there was no room for complacency.

Though he received many gifts, sadly, after sorting through them, only two items were of use to him at his current Third Rank.

One was a Knowledge Crystal given by Sect Leader Leopold of the Tin Saint School, which contained a Third Rank Combined Witchcraft called “Molten Rock.”

The other was the last gift Nois gave him before he left, a Flying Witch Tool nad Silver Stream, which consud very little Magic Power during cruising, yet could reach speeds up to 1.5 tis the speed of sound—slightly faster than a basic Third Rank Wizard’s flight. Additionally, it could burst to approximately three tis the speed of sound for a short duration, very useful for both travel and escape.

Silver Stream was an amorphous, silver luminescence that could be stored as a silver pendant when not in use. When activated, it would envelop Colin, stretching out like a shuttle-shaped vessel, carrying its user forward.

After a simple trial, Colin ntally thanked Nois once more, packed up the Silver Stream, and turned to examine the Combined Witchcraft—Molten Rock—that Leopold had given him.

The na of this witchcraft was simple, yet it was both offensive and defensive.

When attacking, it could erupt like a volcano, spewing out scorching red streams; when defending, it could solidify a layer of flowing Molten Rock around the body, offering strong resistance against elental attacks, especially against fire.

Colin wondered if Leopold had carefully selected this witchcraft, but it was clear that it suited the current him very well.

Now as a Councilman, Colin no longer worried about knowledge concerning ditation thods, but he still needed Council Points to exchange for witchcraft.

The ans to obtain Supre Council Points were not much different from acquiring contribution points in a School, either by completing Council tasks or by submitting knowledge.

Of course, the prerequisite was to be a Supre Council mber.

For non-mbers, it was incredibly difficult to gain Council Points, and only in tis of war like now could they be obtained by ans such as killing Divine Believers.

If Colin had been a Council mber from the start, then with his contributions, he surely wouldn’t lack points.

But he was a Half-blood Wizard, and all his previous contributions were spent earning him a position as a Supre Council mber.

Thus, after the Divine Emblem ceremony, Colin suddenly found he lacked the points to exchange for Third Rank witchcraft.

In fact, back on Gubier Island, he had seized many Divine Emblems from the hands of Margaret’s followers.

Those could be exchanged for Supre Council Points, but because they were related to Margaret’s death, he had long since destroyed them.

Even if he had kept them until now, he probably wouldn’t dare to exchange them outright… Colin knew well that his current position was hard-won; he didn’t want to give the Pureblood Families a handle to attack him with.

So after scraping together all the witchcraft and knowledge he could submit, Colin only just managed to accumulate enough points to exchange for a Third Rank witchcraft.

After careful consideration, he exchanged for a witchcraft that was also defensive and offensive, called Radiant Strong Wall, which mainly reinforced resistance to Tainted babbling.

And this was crucial for his future plans.

Having assessed his situation, Colin wasted no ti and went back to the Roon Palace.

Jennifer’s coronation had swept away the sadness of the previous day’s funeral, and the Palace was decked in festive lights, filled with joy.

Yet just beyond the Palace walls, a bleak sight unfolded—just along the short distance from the Wizard Tower to the Palace, Colin saw at least five serfs begging on the streets.
