Chapter 609: Chapter 392: Wish You Success
When Colin returned to Golden Barley, it was early morning, the sunrise brilliant and the birds chirping rrily.
The capital of Roon Kingdom was as peaceful as ever, easing Colin’s weariness temporarily.
As he passed by the comrcial district next to Gusuie Street, he happened to encounter Welber.
“Lord Colin, you’ve returned,” Welber raised his eyebrows slightly and greeted him with a smile.
“Yes, I was just about to look for you,” Colin smiled, “Thank you for covering for these past two weeks.”
He hadn’t expected to run into Welber on the street, which saved him the effort of informing him of his return.
“No need to be so formal, I haven’t really done much,” Welber chuckled, “By the way, there’s a gathering tonight, would you like to join us?”
“No, thank you. I’m quite tired from the journey and would like to rest well tonight,” Colin shook his head and declined.
“That’s understandable,” Welber didn’t press further.
Over the past year, they had co to understand the nature of this man from Golden Feather, grown accustod to it.
Apart from the first few gatherings, Colin only attended when the wizards Erwin was present.
Because of this, so wizards even quietly ridiculed Colin behind his back, saying that inviting him was as difficult as inviting the Second Rank wizard Erwin!
But such talks were only behind-the-back whispers. No fool would dare bring them up openly and unnecessarily make an enemy.
Welber didn’t participate in those discussions and didn’t plan to inform Colin, preferring to pretend ignorance and maintain a friendly attitude as before.
After all, making a friend was always better than making an enemy at any ti.
Thinking of this, Welber suddenly rembered so recent news and curiously asked,
“Lord Colin, have you heard about the recent events with Chasai Comrce?”
“Chasai Comrce? What about them?” Colin asked, frowning.
“Chasai Comrce is not in a good position right now, many of the previous comrcial associations in the Roon Kingdom are uniting against them,” Welber explained.
The rchant associations of Roon Kingdom didn’t have much in common with their stationed wizards like those of the School; such news was usually just casual after-dinner conversation, sotis not even worthy of discussion.
However, knowing that the witch who managed Chasai Comrce seed to have a close connection with Colin, Welber took the opportunity to ntion it.
“I see,” Colin nodded calmly.
It seed that Shelley had been so busy half a month ago probably dealing with this situation.
Returning to the Gusuie District, Colin didn’t go straight ho but instead went to Shelley’s next-door residence and rang the doorbell.
The clear ringing of the bell echoed faintly from deep within the house, and shortly after, a maid ca to open the gate of the mansion.
“Good morning, Lord Colin,” the maid recognized him and greeted him respectfully.
“Good morning, is Lord Delorje at ho?”
“Sorry, Lord Colin, the master is not at ho,” the maid shook her head.
Not at ho, huh… Colin wasn’t too surprised. He nodded lightly and walked back to his own ho.
He wasn’t there to help Shelley, but rely wanted to check in as an old friend after returning to the city.
After all, they had spent nearly every evening over the past year together, sharing knowledge and chatting, and had beco very close friends.
Without trying again to find Shelley at Chasai Comrce, Colin showed his face at the South Tower and then returned ho to rest.
In the evening, Renee cooked him a lavish dinner, incredibly delicious since it had been a long ti since he last ate her cooking.
It was just a pity he still hadn’t seen Shelley.
Without allowing himself much rest, the next day, Colin reinvigorated himself and headed to the Wizard Tower.
Aside from researching the Giant Mountain Breathing thod, he also planned to investigate a few terms that appeared in his notes, such as “Silver Stream Breathing thod,” “Cumberland,” “Gelan” and the like.
And the wizard nad Cumberland, having been active in Roon Kingdom before, might have so related records in Golden Barley.
Within the Wizard Tower District of Golden Barley, aside from the towers used for vigilant watch, there were many buildings with different functions.
The Docunt Tower was one of them.
It mainly contained so records organized collectively by the Roon Royal Family and the stationed wizards, primarily historical records, investigation reports on places like caves and the Lightless Forest, and past mission files—these stationed wizards, aside from dealing with potential magic surges, also helped solve extraordinary cases within Roon Kingdom.
Historical records were Colin’s first search priority, and Cumberland was his first keyword to look for.
This wizard who wrote the research notes was deduced from the text to be a Second Rank Wizard.
A Second Rank Wizard would certainly not be unknown!
Yet, just half an hour later, Colin raised his eyebrows slightly and stopped flipping the pages.
He had expected to find so information on Cumberland in the Roon Kingdom, but he didn’t anticipate it being so straightforward!
Moving his finger to the middle of the page, Colin’s lips moved silently as he read:
“Yanan Calendar year 3167, Wizard Cumberland invented a magic potion that successfully saved that year’s wheat fields from magic locusts, averting a major food disaster nearly about to unfold in Roon Kingdom…”
“Cumberland…”
This was a book about major disasters throughout the history of Roon Kingdom, but to Colin, it seed more like a record of the grand achievents of a Royal Wizard of Roon.
