Shen Mo gulped and his hand that was holding the door twitched. He looked up at Lin Xiaofei with pleading eyes, probably asking her to spare him from her sinister intentions and give him so slack.
Unfortunately, Lin Xiaofei didn't get the look in his eyes and said, "What are you still standing there? Co here."
He was initially thinking of telling Lin Xiaofei that he forgot to buy sothing and intended to leave but with the current situation they're in and the fact that soone's life was quickly fading away from their body, Shen Mo chose to prolong his life.
Like a child forced to do an errand and a puppy called by its owner, Shen Mo entered the room and quietly closed the door behind him after Lin Xiaofei gestured for him to co forward.
He had been doing a lot of tasks nowadays. Even when he took an oath to serve only Lin Xiaong, Shen Mo didn't find it quite hard to do any arduous missions that were tasked to him.
However, ever since he t Lin Xiaofei, he felt as if he had picked the shortest stick and now, he had to suffer running around the place, doing who knows what on the orders of his young miss.
"Young Miss…" Shen Mo approached her..
"Where were you?" Lin Xiaofei asked. However, she wasn't asking about where he was but why he was gone for so long.
They're currently at the center of the market and the places to buy flower pastries were by no ans too little for him to take that long to make a single trip and return quickly. She also doubted that with his skill in martial arts, he would walk as slow as a snail.
So what took him so long to appear and let things progress badly like this.
Contrary to what she was thinking, all the three other people in the room had similar thoughts in their minds. While looking at Lin Xiaofei, they couldn't help but wonder why was she asking this to Shen Mo when at the mont, there's literally a woman with a hole in her chest in front of them all.
Seeing those eyes that could freeze the lava inside a volcano staring at him, Shen Mo cleared his throat as he said, "That… I was held up by so hooligans fighting in front of the pastry store I went to."
"Are you telling the truth?" Lin Xiaofei narrowed her eyes.
"Yes." Shen Mo said quickly. While saying this, he couldn't help but scream inside his mind.
Even if he were to say no to her, Shen Mo wouldn't dare it as long as she held the hairpin in her hand that was still buried in the woman's chest.
No. Even if there was no hairpin and dead body around, Shen Mo might never say no to Lin Xiaofei. He was afraid that if he were to do that, she would chase him to hell and back, that she would haunt him in his sleep and stab him in the heart.
Looking at the woman who was stabbed to death, Shen Mo looked at her sympathetically. It wouldn't be long before he would end up like her if Lin Xiaofei chose to eliminate him.
On the other hand, Shen Mo was telling the truth as he was really stalled by a group of hooligans who ca walking down the street, bullying, and harassing so of the stalls in the street.
Of course, he chose not to interfere and turn a blind on them as he was unrelated to them. However, that would change dramatically when they kicked a cat who was only passing by Innocently and tried to swing their swords at it when it scratched one of the hooligans.
In the end, he had to catch the cat, and to do that, he had to exchange so blows. And he did.
Shen Mo fought the group of hooligans. Not in the na of justice and helping other people who were harassed by them.
But for the sake of his Furriness the Cat.
While listening to Shen Mo's narration of what happened while he was away for an errand why he had taken a lot of ti outside, Lin Xiaofei's expression didn't exchange and it looked colder than before.
"The cat is innocent and small! I cannot allow anyone from hurting it just because it was walking in front of those filthy hooligans!" Shen Mo reasoned out as soon as he saw her face.
He beca afraid that Lin Xiaofei would target any cat that she saw because of this. Glancing at Chu Chu, Shen Mo bit his lips in guilt when he saw the blood that was seeping through the handkerchief wrapped around it.
Lin Xiaofei only stared at him unblinkingly and sighed after a long while. She shook her head and said, "Refrain from doing this next ti. For now, you should take 'this' to the bed." She looked at Chu Chu and Su Tang, "As for you two… I think you should already we can't stay here any longer right?"
Chu Chu took a few seconds to answer and nodded her head. She has a clearer mind than Su Tang as she experienced quite a bit of hardship that normal people couldn't take.
With what happened to the manager, it wouldn't take long for soone to look for her and find out what has beco of her.
"Wh-what do you think we should do?" Chu chu asked. She really wanted to know why Lin Xiaofei killed the manager but at the mont, the more ti they wasted in that room, the more they would be in the face of danger.
Lin Xiaofei took a pause and pulled her hand out with the hairpins still in her hand.
Instead of answering her question, she asked her, "Do you have spare clothes with you?"
It didn't take long for Chu Chu to understand what Lin Xiaofei was planning and nodded, "I do."
