Hearing Chu Chu's hoarse and weak voice, Lin Xiaofei felt the blood in her body going colder as she stared at the blood on the floor.
With shaky hands, she reached for Chu Chu but stopped just before they could make contact.
"I apologize for letting you see this sight." Chu chu started the conversation with an apology, digging another thorn Lin Xiaofei's heart.
Tears were threatening to co out of Lin Xiaofei's eyes as she continued to stare at Chu Chu. An indescribable feeling was starting to roll its way inside her and she felt nauseous. Not because of the blood that was within her sight but because of the fact that Yu Fangzhu had set his sights on her friend.
She lowered her head and didn't speak for a few seconds.
Chu Chu who was sitting in front of her while still on the floor wanted to say sothing. Her thumb was still hurting from having its nail pulled out by that fat man who was with Yu Fangzhu..
At first, she was terrified that he would defile her and kill her but instead of doing those vile things, Yi Fangzhu ordered him to pull out one of her nails. She didn't scream.
No, she wasn't allowed to scream.
If she did. The people around them would hear it and might co to the room to see what was going on however, she was positive that even after soone ca to see what was going on, they wouldn't really do anything as long as Yu Fangzhu was inside.
She could still rember when Yu Fangzhu tried to pull two of her toenails before and she scread bloody hell for help but even after soone ca, no one really walked forward to help her.
With one word from Yu Fangzhu telling that she was a sinful woman who committed a sin, everyone accepted it as a reality and didn't question him.

"Young Master…" Su Tang's soft and uncertain voice sounded from behind Lin Xiaofei.

Pulling out a clean handkerchief, Su Tang kneeled beside the beautiful woman that had her fingernail pulled out.
She was about to wrap it around the bleeding finger when her young miss suddenly gripped her wrist.

"Give that to ." Lin Xiaofei said, her voice unusually calm that it evokes the two other people who were inside the room feel the roots of their hairs standing.
Su Tang gulped. "O-of course."
The maid who was disguised as a young male servant handed the handkerchief to Lin Xiaofei. She then saw her young miss wounding the handkerchief around the bleeding finger gently.
At first, Chu Chu flinched at the sudden touch by Lin Xiaofei and gasped. It hurts a lot more than she thought. She tried to keep her mind away from the pain when Yu Fangzhu was around as she refused to let him have the satisfaction of knowing that he could break her with pain. However, with him gone, she could finally utter a sound of pain.
And surprisingly, it was in front of an acquaintance who was close to a stranger to her.
"Where is Shen Mo?" Lin Xiaofei finally spoke after she was done wrapping the handkerchief around her friend's thumb.
"The guard?" Chu Chu asked as she didn't know who was this Shen Mo and when she saw that Lin Xiaofei slowly nodded, she soon said, "I sent him to do sothing errands for ."
Lin Xiaofei paused slightly. She knew her friend too well for her to know that what she had just said was utter nonsense and lie. Chu Chu must have sent Shen Mo away using an errand as an excuse before Yu Fangzhu could get closer to her so that he wouldn't see this scene and co out, jeopardizing their plans.
Such a quick decision making and ticulous one at that. If Shen Mo were to witness sothing like this, he would surely fight against Yu Fangzhu and take Chu Chu to safety. However, that would risk their plans from being found out and also, Yu Fangzhu was no ordinary guy. He at least had so ability to repel Shen Mo and might even kill him.
Clenching her jaws, Lin Xiaofei decided to go along Chu Chu's lies. If her friend chose to keep things from her then she wouldn't force it out from her mouth.
Lin Xiaofei suddenly fell silent once again. She was looking at the finger wrapped with a handkerchief and saw the blood seeping through it.
With her head still lowered, she asked, "Why was that man here? What did he co here for?"
Chu Chu looked at her hand before looking at the beautiful woman disguised in n's clothing in front of her, "I wasn't sure myself. He had been such a blaggard who uses justice to choke other people's life. Unfortunately, like other people, my friend's life ended in his hands too. He was supposed to not appear in front of again. Well, not too soon. But…"
Lin Xiaofei didn't say anything and waited for her to continue.
"He ca to to ask about sothing." Chu Chu creased her eyebrows and finally said, "I don't even understand what he was talking about but he asked if I was involved with the explosion of Tian Li cave."
Lin Xiaofei's eyes moved. Her heart shook at the guilt and other emotions that battled against each other inside her.
Until one of them won.
And that was her fury.
