Scarlett couldn't wait to hear the results of Jas' investigation. Still, she wanted to contact Seven and see how things were going. Why didn't that man report to her?

'Is he okay!?' Scarlett fears her pursuers have caught Seven!

She imdiately turned on her cell phone, and her screen lit up with several ssages and missed calls. She couldn't help but faintly smile when she saw Seven's na among them.

"Seven never fails ," she silently praised as she eagerly opened his report and just read briefly.

Scarlett quickly texted Seven, informing him of her arrival at the Riley Hotel and her urgent need to et. However, her heart raced as she considered the potential risks involved.

If Seven ca to her hotel, Jas and Logan might grow suspicious of their discreet etings. She couldn't afford the trouble if they found out she was a mber of the Fox.

Taking a deep breath, Scarlett weighed her options. After careful consideration, she realized there was only one safe way to communicate with Seven — a video call.

As they arrived at the Riley Hotel North District branch, Scarlett couldn't help but be impressed by the towering five-star hotel. The sleek glass exterior and modern architecture give the building a luxurious feel that's hard to ignore — similar to the capital's Riley Hotel, where she's been staying with Xander for the past month.

Once inside, Logan leads Scarlett into her presidential suite, which is even more impressive than the lobby. It has a spacious living room, a luxurious primary bedroom, and panoramic city views.

Feeling hungry after the long journey, Scarlett turned to Logan and said, "Logan, I'm famished, but I don't feel like going out just yet. Can you please order sothing for us to eat here in the room?"

Logan nodded, already pulling out his phone to place an order. "Of course, Ma'am! What would you like?"

Scarlett thought for a mont before replying, "Surprise , Logan! Just make sure it's sothing I can eat..." She smiled and turned to look at Jas, who was now standing near the living room.

...

Scarlett leaned forward in her chair, her eyes fixed on Jas. "I'm eager to hear your report, Jas. Please begin," she said, gesturing for him to start.

Jas took a deep breath and began to detail the findings of his investigation. Scarlett listened intently, nodding as he spoke. Still, as he continued, her expression shifted from one of interest to one of concern.

When Jas finally finished, Scarlett was taken aback. This was not at all what she had expected to hear. "Jas, are you sure about this?" she asked, her voice laced with disbelief.

Jas nodded solemnly. "I'm afraid so, Ma'am. The data I found doesn't lie."

Scarlett leaned back in her chair, deep in thought. She had a lot to process and wasn't quite sure how to proceed. Sothing had been incorrect with Jas' report, but Scarlett couldn't pinpoint it. She knew she needed to get to the bottom of it. And get there fast.

Scarlett's voice slightly trembled as she asked Jas, "Jas, are you certain that this is the correct Mikayla Davies?"

Jas nodded, his expression grave. "Yes, Ma'am. I have double-checked and even triple-checked the information, and there is no doubt about it. There are only 5 Davies families in this town. And only one family has a daughter nad Mikayla Davies..."

Scarlett's heart sank as she realized the implications of what Jas had said. If the family Jas had found was really her mother's, then that ant the Davies family she had imagined was very different.

A wave of conflicting emotions swept through Scarlett. There is excitent at the prospect of finally finding her mother's family. But there was also a fear that this discovery would harm them. Especially if they turn out to be a poor farr.

Sothing else also ca out of her thought. While trying to piece together the puzzle of her mother's past, she couldn't help but wonder why her mother had run away to B Island. And, if her mother's family is a poor farr, why did she build her business on B Island without helping her poor family?

Countless questions filled Scarlett's mind, and she knew she needed to discover more before concluding anything. She looked at Jas and said, "Thank you for your hard work, Jas. But we must find out everything we can about my mother's past. I need to know why she left and left her family without helping them?"

"I understand why you are still doubtful, Ma'am. That's why I would like to suggest that we visit the village so we know the family is the right person you are looking for..." Jas said with conviction.

Scarlett nodded, impressed by Jas' commitnt to helping her. She said, "Yes, you're right, Jas. We can't afford to make any mistakes!"

For Scarlett, it didn't matter who her mother's family was — whether they ca from wealthy families or ordinary farrs. However, most of all, she wants to know why her mother left her family. And she wanted to hear it from her mother's family, to put her mind at ease.

"But, Ma'am, if we set out now, we won't be able to return to town before dark. The road to that town is difficult and dangerous. So, I suggest we leave tomorrow morning instead. That way, we can still return to town before nightfall," Jas suggested.

Scarlett weighed Jas' advice and found it sensible. "Okay, Jas, I understand. Please make all the necessary arrangents. We'll leave after breakfast tomorrow."

With that settled, Scarlett retreated to her bedroom.

Scarlett retrieved her laptop from her suitcase and attempted to video-call Seven.

She wanted to hear Seven's report directly. At the sa ti, she wanted to share the results of Jas' investigation with Seven.

"Have you had a chance to read my report yet?" Seven asked as soon as Scarlett appeared on his monitor screen.

Scarlett shook her head. "Just a glance. How did it go?"

"Damn, you're so lazy!" Seven snapped, clearly frustrated. "Can you at least read it and take a look before asking ?"
