Xander's gaze glanced at her briefly, "Sorry. Baby! This is a man's secret. I can't share it with you." He chuckled, making Scarlett roll her eyes.
"Okay, you go in! I'll be waiting for you in the living room!" Xander stroked her back while smiling at her to make her relax more.
"Alright! If you need anything, you may call Uncle Adams."
"Hmm, I will!" Xander smiled, but as the door closed, his smile suddenly disappeared. He walked over to the french window in the corner and made a phone call.

With just a glance, Scarlett could guess her father's mood was different from the one she saw when they chatted earlier.
Although his smile widened upon seeing her, it didn't reach his eyes — his gaze was cold and blank.
