BANG!

Lola flinched, gasping as she gazed down at herself. She was still alive! At the sa ti, the sound of bodies falling to the ground echoed from where the n had been standing.

She turned, only to see the n who were supposed to be shooting her lying in their own pools of blood.

"Are you alright?"

Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed from her other side. When she turned her head, she saw the two Bellemonte n running to her. One of them squatted beside her, checking her from head to toe.

Good thing they rushed to her when she was giving that powerful speech. They took that as a signal that it was about ti to confront the rest of the rcenaries.

But instead of giving them an outright answer, Lola raised a hand and clarified sothing.

"Just in case you don’t know, my reaction ti is not that bad," she explained. "If I saw him pull that trigger, I would’ve rolled back into that door and avoided it. But alas, their fingers never got to pull the trigger—at least, that’s what I saw."

The Bellemonte n, who weren’t really looking for words of gratitude, knitted their brows at her.

"Anyway." Lola got up and cleared her throat. "There are so people coming over there. You should take them down first."

Having said that, she jumped and turned to leave. But she barely skipped a few steps before pausing and looking back at them.

"You got us so ride, right?"

One of the n nodded. "We parked them at the location you told us."

"Perfect!" she clapped, then resud. "See you later, alligator!"

The Bellemonte n watched her go, shaking their heads before shifting their focus to the direction she’d pointed out. Taking refuge by the door she ntioned earlier—where she was "planning" to roll if they didn’t rescue her in ti—they waited.

Soon enough, enemies rushed into the street where Lola had jumped down.

Just as she said, once they were far from cover or escape routes, the Bellemonte n shot them down one by one.

anwhile, in another part of Gigante, the n eventually overpowered the rcenaries. Despite the rcenaries trying to fight back and threaten them with their weapons, it was to no avail. Against a massive number of angry n—even if they fired once or twice—it was futile.

"Motherfucker—you—you think you’re better than ?! Who. Do. You. Fucking. Think. You. Are!"

The boss stomped on the man who had punched him in the face earlier and was almost beaten down. But thanks to the other residents’ help, they managed to take the rcenary down. Even so, though the enemy was already unconscious, the boss continued kicking him to vent his anger.

"You want a piece of , huh?! Want to die—"

BANG!

The boss jolted and shook his head at the sound. Not just him, but everyone who was still trying to knock the remaining rcenaries down. When they turned, they saw one man holding a rifle at them from a distance.

The man—the person in charge of this entire massacre—panted as he took in the situation. He had been waiting for his n to return with Lola, ready to dip his erection into her. But it took them too long, and he ended up pleasuring himself to last longer.

But when he heard the noise, he rushed out, only to see this.

"You... good-for-nothing..." he hissed, raising his rifle and opening fire. "I’m going to kill every one of you—"

SCREECH!

Just as the man pulled the trigger, a loud screech echoed through the area. What followed was a heavy thud—a body crashing into sothing.

Everyone instinctively lowered their heads, so shielding others. But when they looked again, they saw that a truck had replaced the man’s position.

"The hell was that?" Lola scrunched up her nose. "Did I crash into soone?"

She stretched her neck, only to see the rcenary—the one who had been gawking at her earlier—knocked unconscious against a distant wall. Her face twitched slightly when she noticed the brick behind him had cracked from the impact.

"Oh, well." She shrugged and turned to the n. "Hop in!" she shouted. "Get the elderly first, and a few of you. There’s more room in here!"

They didn’t know her, but they trusted her. Without question, the n lifted the weaker and older ones, not wasting ti arguing. After all, the elderly shared the sa sentint.

Just leave us.

No way in hell they would.

As the elderly were loaded into the truck, Lola jumped down from the driver’s seat. She grabbed the nearest man and dragged him aside.

"Take those who can drive and are fast," she ordered. "The won were taken in the sa direction, and I need so of you to pick them up."

She kept her instructions short and precise, pulling a few more n aside to listen.

"Get out of here and don’t ever look back," she warned, nodding at them. "But I also need a few of you to stay behind."

"I’ll stay," one of the n said imdiately. "Whatever you need—I might be of help."

Lola blinked at him, surprised he volunteered before she could explain.

"Your na..." she trailed off, studying his face. "You’re Amar?"

Surprise flickered across his expression before he nodded. "Yes."

"Heh." She snickered. "Good. Stay. I’m sure you’d like to reunite with your kid, so that’ll make things more efficient."

"My child... is alright, right?"

"Not even a scratch." She shrugged, almost arrogantly. But the answer eased everyone’s hearts. "Anyway, you’ve got to start moving."

As Lola continued issuing instructions to the n flocking around her, the boss and the lackey could only stare.

They knew Lola was crazy—a psycho blessed with multiple lives, maybe.

But watching her command everyone with such passion and clarity stirred sothing in them.

They had seen power in Ravah—how those in authority commanded obedience through fear. If the governor told them to bark, they would.

Lola was different.

She terrorized the boss and the lackey like it was a hobby. But with the Bellemonte n, she used wit. And now, with the townsfolk, she led through sincerity.

Every thod worked.

"She’s probably actually a goddess," the lackey muttered, eyes glued to Lola. "I think she was born to be a leader."

The boss didn’t reply. His gaze drifted back to the image of Lola standing on the roof.

A strange emotion welled up in his chest.

When he looked at her again, he pressed his lips into a thin line. "Maybe... we’re lucky, after all."

Because if there was one thing everyone agreed on in this territory—no matter the region—it was that change was impossible.

But tonight, for those who had Lola’s image etched into their mory...

It didn’t feel impossible anymore.

Perhaps change was closer than they thought.

And maybe all it needed was the right person to start it.
