Atlas hadn’t thought much about the test until Allen ntioned the twisted relationship between Jasmine and Mike. Lola and lissa had just undergone testing to see if they were compatible donors for Lawrence, and the results hadn’t been surprising. There had never been any guarantee that either of them would match Lawrence’s rare blood type.

But now, this new information has changed everything. Or rather, it made everything more confusing.

"lissa Young is a match?" Allen frowned. "Then... does that an she really is Lawrence Young’s daughter?"

From what Allen had uncovered, though, the tiline of Jasmine’s pregnancy with Mike and her later affair with Lawrence suggested otherwise. It was very possible that lissa could be Mike’s child.

"If this isn’t luck," Allen murmured, "then I suppose lissa Young really is Lawrence and Jasmine’s daughter."

"Allen."

His head snapped toward his boss. "Yes, sir?"

"Do a DNA test on lissa Young, Lawrence, and Mike," Atlas ordered. "I don’t like this confusion. A test will answer it."

"I already did, sir," Allen replied quickly. "I put a priority order on it. Hopefully, no one tampers with the results."

"There’s no reason for anyone to ddle," Atlas said, leaning back, his expression darkening. "It’s not about . Still... sothing tells I’m not going to like the outco."

After all, there was no motive for Jasmine or Mike to falsify the blood compatibility test. Lawrence had needed a transfusion; tampering with that would’ve only risked killing him. Unless, of course, that was what they wanted. But the tests had been conducted too quickly for them to manipulate.

More importantly, this wasn’t even a paternity test, just a blood type comparison. There’d been no pressure if neither Lola nor lissa matched. In short, there had been no need for interference at all.

So why did Atlas feel an instinctive urge to dig deeper?

"I want the results by the end of the day," Atlas said, his eyes narrowing. "I want to see them myself the mont they’re ready."

Atlas and Allen weren’t the only ones confused by the results. The one who was most shaken was Jasmine.

"Mom!" lissa’s face lit up as the doctor entered the room. "Did you hear that? I’m Dad’s match!"

Excitent and relief filled her facial features as she clasped her mother’s hand. When she turned to the doctor, her eyes glead.

"Does this an my dad is saved?" she asked eagerly. "My blood can save him, right?"

The doctor smiled. "Yes. It will definitely help him."

"Oh, God!" lissa breathed out, nearly trembling with relief. "Wait—am I his only match? What about Lola?"

"Unfortunately, Miss Lola Young isn’t a match," the doctor replied. "You, on the other hand, share your father’s blood type. We ran additional compatibility tests, and yours was the most suitable."

lissa’s smile stretched even wider, full of pure relief. For the mont, she forgot everything else. She’d always been a daddy’s girl, and right now, all she wanted was for him to recover.

But Jasmine wasn’t celebrating.

"Lola Young isn’t a match?" she asked quietly.

"Yes, unfortunately."

"How is that possible?"

Her question drew both the doctor’s and lissa’s attention. lissa’s brows furrowed, and her smile faltered.

"Mom, what do you an?" she asked softly. "Aren’t you happy Dad and I are compatible?"

"No, of course, I’m happy," Jasmine forced out a tight smile, then turned to the doctor. "Doctor, are you sure Lola Young isn’t a match?"

"Yes, Madam Young," the doctor confird. "We assud Miss Lola would be more compatible, but lissa’s blood isn’t just a match—it’s 99.9% compatible with her father’s. We should begin as soon as possible; the banked blood won’t last long."

"Yes!" lissa stepped forward, her eagerness unmistakable. "Please take as much blood as you need."

The doctor smiled faintly. He recognized her from television. lissa Young, the celebrity. It was nice to see her being selfless for her family. He guessed the rumors about her were simply exaggerated.

"Then we’ll begin shortly," he said. "Madam Young, I’ll take Miss lissa to the other room."

As he explained the procedure, Jasmine barely heard him. Her mind buzzed with confusion. She nodded absently as they left, then remained standing in silence once the door closed.

"How is that possible?" she muttered, frowning deeply. "How could lissa share the sa blood type as Lawrence?"

Both she and Mike knew lissa shouldn’t have been a match. Neither of them had Lawrence’s rare blood type. There was no genetic possibility. As for Lola, she should’ve been the one.

"Did Mike tamper with the results?" she whispered. "But when would he have had the ti?"

They’d been together all night. Mike had left late, but there’d been no ntion of the test. Their plan had been simple: deal with Lola first thing in the morning. Even if Lola volunteered her blood, she’d never get the chance to donate.

That was why Mike had left to take care of Lola.

That was the plan.

Feeling uneasy, Jasmine walked to the table and snatched up her phone. She tried calling Mike, but the call didn’t go through. She tried again—once, twice—until finally, the line connected.

"Hey," Mike’s voice ca through, casual and distracted. "I’m busy. My n and I are already on set. I’ll call you when we’re done."

Jasmine ignored that. "Mike, did you tamper with the results?"

"Huh?"

"Did you do sothing to make lissa match Lawrence?" she demanded, but Mike only made a garbled sound.

"Shit—Jasmine, can’t hear you properly. I’ll call you later."

The line went dead. Jasmine glared at her phone, her pulse quickening.

"He probably did," she whispered to herself. "Or... maybe it’s just luck."

But if lissa truly matched Lawrence, that was a problem. It ant Lawrence might survive—and Jasmine couldn’t let that happen. Still, she wasn’t panicking. Lawrence would be easier to deal with than Lola.

As calm slowly returned to her, a knock ca at the door. Jasmine turned and froze.

Standing there was a familiar face from the past.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, recognizing the doctor who had once stayed by Loren’s side through all her treatnts.

Doctor Tyler regarded her quietly, then offered a polite smile. "I hope this is a good ti to catch up, Jasmine Young."

"Doctor Tyler." Her brow arched. "It’s been a while."

"It has."

"I see you’re still working at this hospital," she said with a scoff. "Don’t tell you’re the one who told Lola about her father."

Doctor Tyler didn’t respond. He simply studied her — the woman who, despite her years, still wore beauty like a weapon. Loren had been right: Jasmine was a beautiful, dangerous woman.

"I heard about the test results," he said evenly, his smile fading. "Tell , didn’t you find it strange that lissa Young is a match and not Lola?"

Jasmine raised a brow, but before she could speak, he added quietly,

"I’m not surprised," he said. "And Loren wouldn’t be either... if she were still alive."
