I stepped forward, pointing at my arrogant bastard of a father, "Hello officer, I called the police. I’m reporting this man—Jason Miller, for suspected contract fraud, tax evasion, and money laundering. Here is so of the evidence..."

"And mbers of the tax bureau, you are investigating the tax evasion case of Zephanor Trade. Jason Miller is the main person responsible. I have sufficient evidence here to prove that he deliberately committed fraud, shirked responsibility, and attempted to escape culpability. Please ensure you investigate thoroughly."

Before coming here, I brought the agreents regarding my acceptance of stock transfers, along with the financial evidence provided by Ms. Woods, handing all the materials to the police and tax authorities.

These docunts are enough to prove that I just beca the major shareholder of the company recently, had no knowledge of the company’s prior illegal activities, and did not participate in any illegal activities.

The tax officials recognized at first glance and greeted politely: "Miss Miller, you’re very efficient to have unraveled the entire situation in just half a day?"

I smiled, "Since it concerns my personal cleanliness and future prospects, the quicker, the better, of course."

The police and tax inspectors were both going over the docunts, and the office was quiet.

Suddenly, Jason Miller pushed the person next to him violently and started running toward the office exit.

"Stop! Quickly, stop him!"

The police officer reacted swiftly and commanded, and Jason Miller was pinned to the ground and handcuffed.

"Let go! I didn’t break the law; that ungrateful daughter is slandering ! Lily, you’re just like your mother, you can’t stand to see doing well! I really regret having you; I should have choked you to death back then!"

Being pinned down by the police, Jason Miller struggled while cursing and shouting.

"Behave yourself! How dare you threaten soone in front of the police! Do you have no respect for the law?" The police officer sternly reprimanded, dragging him up from the ground.

Shirley Turner watched this scene, her legs giving way, suddenly stopped struggling, and collapsed to the ground like a heap of mud.

I looked over and asked softly, "Stepmom, what’s wrong? Didn’t you just insist I kneel and kowtow to you? Are you reversing roles now?"

Shirley Turner, still shaken, breathed heavily and turned her eyes to , suddenly grabbing my trouser leg: "Lily, he is your real father! You can’t do this! We’re family; you can’t be so heartless and cruel. Sophie’s seven days aren’t even over, and you want to send him to prison. You’re too harsh!"

I shook my leg but couldn’t break free, so I glanced up at the security guard.

The security guard understood imdiately and ca over to pull Shirley Turner away.

"Honestly, before I ca here, I thought about giving you one last chance. But outside the door, I heard you discussing how to fra , to make take the fall for you, even thinking about killing , and I thought you deserve to go to hell!" I said coldly, my tone icy and sharp.

"Lily... you can’t do this. It was just words said in anger; we just wanted to teach you a lesson, never intended to actually harm you."

"Do you think I believe your bullshit?" Looking at her repentant face, hatred churned in my chest, "Ever since you indulged Sophie in stealing my wedding and taking my husband, you should have seen today’s outco. Heaven is determined to destroy you, and it will first make you mad; you’ve brought this on yourself."

"Lily... you can’t do this; Sophie is dead, she’s dead..."

Shirley Turner cried bitterly.

I really should give her a mirror to see how wretched she looks now.

Jason Miller, still restrained by the police, refused to give up and shouted publicly, "You better treat with respect! I have a good relationship with Minister Grant in the city; be careful or all of you might lose your jobs!"

The police ignored him and looked at , asking, "Miss Miller, would you be willing to co with us for a bit? Following regulations, we need to take a statent."

"Sure."

Since I reported it, I am definitely going to cooperate with the investigation.

Jason Miller, handcuffed, was taken away, and his new company’s employees were all left dumbfounded.

Pity these people, only just started working, and the company is already going under, forcing them to find new jobs elsewhere.

After completing the statent with the police, I was already heading back at seven in the evening.

As I walked out of the police station and saw the countless lights outside, I suddenly missed my grandmother.

So, I drove over to my grandmother’s to have dinner.

After telling my grandmother the whole story, the old lady was so happy that she ate an extra bowl of rice.

"They finally got what was coming to them, living carefree for so many years; it’s really been too easy on them. It’s a pity your mother didn’t live to see this day."

"Grandma, you reminded . I’ll go see my mom tomorrow and share it with her too." I set down my chopsticks contently, comforting the old lady.

Grandmother nodded repeatedly, "Yes, you should tell her, make her happy too."

The next morning, I went to the cetery with a bouquet of fresh flowers and sat in front of my mother’s tombstone for about an hour.

I told my mom about a lot of things, being abandoned by Adrian Gordon, Sophie stealing my wedding, Jason Miller framing , Sophie dying, Jason Miller going down and still facing prison...

Finally, as I felt I had said everything, a noble and handso face began to erge in my mind.

Thinking of this person, a warm current flowed from my heart, and even though I was alone, I couldn’t help feeling excited and shy.

"Mom, there’s one more thing... I think I’ve fallen for soone—"

"He says I saved him twice when we were kids, and all his kindness toward is out of gratitude. But I feel... it’s not that simple."

"But our family backgrounds are worlds apart. Even if the Miller Family hadn’t fallen, I wouldn’t be a match for him, let alone now with the Millers ruined and Jason is going to prison..."

"Tied to a convict biological father, it’s a lifelong stain that I can’t erase, making even less suitable for him."

"But Mom, he really is incredible, from a prominent family yet unpretentious, noble yet not arrogant, courteous and urbane, highly cultured, young and handso—and even his height stands out above the crowd..."

I poured out to my mom words I’d buried in my heart for so long, words I couldn’t speak to anyone else.

"I know I shouldn’t like him; it’s impossible between us, but every ti he appears, I can’t control the fluttering in my heart, irresistibly drawn to him... Mom, what should I do—"

But sadly, Mom couldn’t offer any advice.

Sigh...

As I got up to leave the cetery, my phone rang.

I took a look, and my heart suddenly sped up.

Daniel Carter.

"Hello..." Under the warm autumn sun, I descended the hill slowly, my cheeks burning, not sure if it was from staying outside too long or the sunlight.

Daniel Carter, hearing my lazy tone, expressed concern, "What’s wrong, not feeling well?"

"No, I was in the cetery, visiting my Mom."

"Oh, then... are you alright?" He assud visiting my deceased mother would put in a bad mood.

I smiled lightly and replied cheerfully, "I’m fine, just sharing so good news with my mom."

His voice held a gentle hint of laughter, "Oh? What’s the good news?"
