Chapter 261: Chapter 260: Modified: Chapter 260
Life-threatening
He shuddered all over whenever he thought of Madeline Woods.
This tomboy—she was not only strong but also fierce.
Who would even like her!
But the problem is, such a fierce person could give birth to an autistic kid, a very cute little girl at that.
Thinking of the child, Alexander Hodges suddenly ca to his senses, “Oh no!”
Edwin Blake had already left. He was beside himself with rage, stomping his feet, and hurriedly got into the car to chase after him.
dical University, Ivy River’s office.
Edwin stepped inside, and right on his heels, Alexander knocked and entered.
“Take off your clothes and lie down…”
Ivy was halfway through her sentence when she saw the uninvited guest at the door.
She was still sanitizing her hands… So awkward.
This posture, paired with what she just said, anyone would misunderstand.
Alexander was shocked, stamring, “Am I… am I interrupting sothing? Sorry, I’ll leave at once.”
Ivy’s face turned red with embarrassnt, “No need! What do you want?”
“Sis, I’m here to find my brother, I need to talk to him about sothing.”
Alexander spoke in a hushed voice, his head down.
He was feeling very insecure.
Edwin spoke coldly, “What is it? Why didn’t you say at ho just now.”
Alexander pulled Edwin to the corner, whispered in his ear, “Bro, did you know Madeline Woods has a child? If Grandma checks it out, what am I going to do!”
“I know, so what? She’s single, you’re unmarried. You can beco an instant dad, and she can beco an instant grandma. What’s not to like?”
Alexander beca anxious, “No! This is insane!”
“It’s not a big deal. As long as the child is willing to call you dad, what’s the problem? Besides, I looked into it, her father is unknown. Likely, even her biological father doesn’t know about the child.”
Edwin spoke nonchalantly.
“How would you feel about becoming an instant dad? If the child was yours, you’d be upset for a long ti. How much more so when it’s not even my child!”
Alexander was furious, he lost control of his volu.
Ivy heard this and looked directly at Alexander, “You two talk all you want. Don’t involve my child. It wasn’t who made Edwin an instant dad, it was his choice. Originally, my child didn’t have a father; the father died early.”
Hearing this, Edwin’s already impatient face grew darker.
“Alexander, I’ll give you three seconds to leave now, or I can’t guarantee what I might do.”
“Bro, you must explain it clearly to Grandma, otherwise I can’t explain the child!”
Alexander was really anxious, not afraid of Edwin anymore.
Edwin closed his eyes, “3, 2…”
Alexander dodged behind Ivy, “Sis, help , my brother wants to hit !”
Ivy stepped aside, “This is a hospital, if you want to fool around, take it outside or go to Lewis Chadwick’s office. This is not the place for your nonsense!”
“Ivy, I need Madeline Woods’ contact information.” Edwin spoke coldly.
Ivy frowned, “Why do you need her contact? Edwin, are you out of your mind?”
She instinctively felt Edwin was up to no good.
Edwin frowned, “I have so business with Madeline Woods.”
“What business? Just tell directly.”
Ivy was not prepared to give the contact.
Alexander quickly added, “We just need it as a backup. What if we need to buy sothing from her later?”
Ivy raised an eyebrow, “Are you redecorating your ho recently?”
“What?” Alexander was puzzled.
“Madeline deals with wholesale furniture, and it’s raw furniture. Are you sure you want that?”
Alexander nodded imdiately, “Yes, I need her to design a new house for and then decorate it.”
Ivy snorted coldly, “Really, then when President Hodges finishes decorating, do show . I’ve never seen raw wood furniture before.”
Alexander didn’t really understand.
Edwin interrupted directly, “I want to set Madeline Woods up on a blind date.”
“What!?”
Ivy was astonished.
“No way!” Alexander imdiately denied it.
Edwin continued, “I think Madeline and Alexander get along well. Besides, they’re both at the right age for marriage. They can just be together directly.”
Ivy stared at Edwin for a long ti, confirming he wasn’t joking.
She directly turned on the computer.
Quickly input the diagnosis, then printed it out and handed it to Alexander.
“Alexander, take Edwin to the Neurology departnt on the second floor. I think it’s not just poisoning, his brain is shrinking. Maybe the toxin is spreading.”
Alexander looked at the diagnosis on the sheet.
He couldn’t help but laugh.
[Patient’s mind is unclear, suggests redoing a brain CT, to see how much fluid is inside.]
Edwin snatched the report and tore it up, “Fine, you don’t have to give it to . I have other ways to find it out.”
“Edwin, they’re not a match.”
“I think they are. Let’s get the acupuncture done quickly; I need to get back for a eting.”
Edwin’s words brought Alexander back to his senses. He asked suspiciously, “Bro, are you really getting acupuncture? I thought you made that up at the old house…”
Edwin glanced at him, didn’t speak.
Ivy pointed to the infirmary bed, “Take off your clothes, lie down.”
Edwin complied, “Do I need to take off my pants?”
“No, just the upper body.”
Alexander was stunned by their conversation.
He watched Edwin, then looked at Ivy.
“Sis, what are you two doing?”
Ivy didn’t waste words, directly started sanitizing, and quickly began the acupuncture.
In no ti at all.
Edwin’s back was covered with silver needles.
“Alright, it might hurt more this ti. Each session will hurt more as we expel the toxin. If you can’t bear it, let know. I’ll give you a towel.”
Ivy spoke like a heartless man.
Very cold.
“What?” Alexander exclaid, “No, wait, why is there a toxin, Bro, what’s wrong with you!”
Ivy glanced at him, said coolly, “Ask Edwin yourself. I can’t disclose the patient’s condition.”
Alexander panicked.
He approached and asked, “Bro, are you sick? What illness? Why do you look like you’re in so much pain? Talk to , what’s wrong? If sothing happens to you, Grandma will be heartbroken.”
Ivy found his noise annoying, handed him a towel, and left.
Alexander held the towel, at a loss, “Bro, did Sis give the towel to stuff in your mouth or to wipe sweat? Speak up, why aren’t you talking to .”
Edwin found him noisy.
He spoke coldly, “To wipe sweat! Alexander, can you—hiss”
Before he could finish, Edwin felt a wave of pain on his back.
Alexander noticed, imdiately said, “I’m going to find Sis, are you in pain, Bro?”
Edwin waved him off.
He had a premonition it would only get more painful. He briefly explained to Alexander, “I’ve been poisoned, chronic. If not treated properly, it’s life-threatening.”
“What!”
Alexander was instantly flustered, not knowing what to do.
“No, I need to tell Big Brother, this can’t be delayed.”
Edwin turned on his phone, looked seriously at him.
