Chapter 236: Revised: Chapter 235
Self-aware
She pretended to be calm, “What if it is him?”
Madeline Woods curled her lips, “What’s he doing here?”
“Not sure, let’s hurry up and eat, we’ll leave once we’re done.” Ivy River couldn’t help but urge.
Edwin Blake must have seen her just now.
And that gaze was so intense, to avoid any public dispute, it was better for them to quickly finish eating and leave.
Madeline didn’t want to see Edwin’s face either, “How about we pack up and go eat sowhere else? If that plague sits near , I definitely won’t be able to eat. There’s my favorite braised fish today, I don’t want to waste it…”
“Sure, then let’s go.”
Just as the two stood up, Edwin Blake and Alexander Hodges ca over with their food.
Alexander was quick to catch on, “Sister-in-law, are you heading back?”
Ivy nodded, “Yes, it’s too noisy here, I’m going back to my office to eat.”
Alexander imdiately said, “Great, sister-in-law, I think it’s noisy here too. Can I join you in your office?”
Ivy: “…”
Madeline snickered, “Are you kidding, Alexander? The office isn’t open to you, you guys stay here and eat. Ivy, let’s go.”
Saying that, she hooked her arm around Ivy and started walking out.
Alexander and Edwin followed without a word.
All the way to the office door.
After Ivy and Madeline went in, Alexander was about to follow.
Madeline blocked the door with her body, “What are you doing following us? This is the dical staff’s break ti.”
“What kind of dical staff are you? Open the door quickly, or I’ll break it down!”
Alexander held two plates of food, his body pressed against the door.
He glanced grumpily at Edwin behind him, “Bro, can you help with so of this? I can barely hold on.”
Edwin just gave him a look and said coldly, “Move.”
Alexander imdiately stepped aside, offering advice, “Bro, don’t use force, or sister-in-law will be really angry.”
He didn’t believe his brother could make them…
Edwin stood at the door, “I’ll count to three, if you don’t open the door, I’ll break it down, Madeline, three, two…”
Before he could say one.
The door opened.
Edwin strode into the room and naturally sat on the couch opposite Ivy.
He completely ignored the angry looks from Ivy and Madeline.
Ivy glared at Edwin, “Do you need sothing? This is not the ti for dical consultations. If you want to see a doctor, co in the afternoon.”
Madeline was furious, puzzled as to why Ivy made her open the door for Edwin.
They surely couldn’t break down the door publicly.
Alexander, briefly stunned, hurriedly squeezed in before Madeline could shut the door, deliberately waving the food in front of her.
“So happy to be eating in sister-in-law’s office.”
His tone was incredibly annoying.
Madeline gritted her teeth, “You jerk, get out!”
“Not going out, not going out! Gonna drive you mad!”
Alexander taunted, even walking around the room with his food.
Madeline, looking at his smug expression, grew angrier. She turned and saw the remaining part of the couch, quickly claid it.
“Alexander, you can stand and eat, it’s good for your digestion!”
Madeline stretched her legs out on the couch as she spoke.
Alexander, seeing Madeline’s smug look, didn’t get mad.
He stubbornly moved to sit right on her legs with his bowl and chopsticks.
Madeline scread, “Alexander, are you crazy! Can’t you see my legs here?”
“Everyone’s eating, why are your legs stretched out? Even dogs don’t block the way.”
“Who are you calling a dog!”
Alexander sneered, “Whoever responds, I guess.”
“Calm down, I’m not going to bite back if a dog bites . Ivy, check on Alexander, I think his brain is ssed up.”
Madeline struggled to keep her temper.
Alexander retorted mockingly, “I wonder which of us has the issue, are you waiting on your turn to see my sister-in-law and just sticking around here?”
“Ha-ha, very funny, unlike so pestering for a chance to eat in soone else’s office. Is the cafeteria so small it can’t fit you?”
Madeline, not satisfied, added, “Or do you just like following Ivy around? Or seeking treatnt here? Can’t ask in the cafeteria?”
Alexander shouted, “You’re the one sick, I’m visiting my sister-in-law.”
Madeline waved a dismissive hand, “Fine, I get it. I won’t spread it, knowing you’re here for treatnt. No need to be scared, just finish and see the psychiatrist afterwards.”
Just as Alexander was about to retort.
A cold voice interjected.
“Shut up, Alexander.”
“Madeline, hurry up and eat, stop talking.”
Edwin and Ivy spoke simultaneously.
Seeing the argunt heat up, they had to step in.
Alexander gave them an ambiguous look.
He couldn’t help but click his tongue, “Fine, let’s eat quietly, save the arguing for later.”
Madeline shot Edwin an annoyed glance but stayed silent and started eating.
Suddenly.
Ivy walked to the desk.
Madeline quickly asked, “Where are you going?”
“To eat.”
“Can’t you eat here? Wait, I want so of your twice-cooked pork, I specifically chose a different dish!”
Madeline eyed Alexander’s chopsticks.
She swiftly took her food away, sneering, “Who said you could eat my food?”
Alexander’s chopsticks hung mid-air, brow furrowed, “Will it kill you to share? Besides, we can share all the dishes together!”
“I’ve eaten your food, it disgusts !”
Madeline, like presenting a treasure, placed her food on the desk.
She sat at the patient’s spot.
Effectively blocking Edwin and Alexander.
Edwin put down his chopsticks after a few bites, staring coldly at the door.
Alexander saw this and asked softly, “Bro, is it not good?”
Edwin didn’t reply, glaring with dark expression.
Alexander continued on his own, “I think it’s pretty good. dical University’s cafeteria is famous for its food, why don’t you like it?”
“Eat your food and shut up.”
Edwin felt like there was a buzzing fly next to his ear.
Bzzz, bzzz.
Alexander, pouting, took Edwin’s dish with delight.
Ivy and Madeline finished eating.
“Co help throw out the trash, the office will sll if it’s not cleaned regularly.”
With that, Ivy got up and walked out.
Madeline, puzzled, followed, “Sure, but I can manage this small amount of trash.”
Edwin smirked, “Maybe Doctor River really wants to throw out?”
Ivy stopped and turned, “Since President Blake is aware of his place, why don’t you leave?”
