Chapter 69: Chapter 69: WILL SHE BE, OKAY?

It wasn’t long before Zara’s convoy reached the nearby town Emma was talking about and when they arrived; it was around 4:35 p.m.

Tired of being in the RV and also thinking about nice ideas regarding the contest everyone just thought of in a mont, she wanted so fresh air.

For a mont, the screens went dark and during that ti, Zara was getting freshened up and ready to venture outside and see this town she knew nothing about.

"We are ready, Miss!" Emma announced as soon as Zara was done dressing up.

"Sure!" she responded anticipatingly.

The screen ca back again and when it did, Zara was already seated in the wheelchair, a fluffy blanket on her lap, an oxygen mask on her face and her blue eyes blinking excitedly as she looked everywhere.

Whenever she was on an outing, Zara tended to push away the tablet. As long as it was a place she didn’t know and was new to it, she would leave the responding business to either Emma or Ava, depending on who was wheeling her.

"Miss, where should we go first?" Emma who was holding the tablet asked as soon as she noticed that Zara was settled.

Zara without turning to look at Emma responded using the ISL (international sign language).

ZARA: Waterlons. Let’s find them first and see what else is there.

She was in that town for waterlons, so why should she bother with anything else apart from that?

When Emma heard that, she felt that it was still expected. After all, wasn’t that the reason why they were stopping in that particular town?

ZARA: I am quite curious about what it would taste like.

A glint of greediness and gluttony flashed in her eyes as soon as she said.

When Emma who was looking at the tablet saw that, she froze in her tracks, baffled and shocked by what she had just heard.

...

anwhile, in Kuville city, Lena clutched her chest upon seeing what her daughter had just relayed.

"What the heck does she an by that?" she yelled angrily as her heart raced wildly at the thought of her baby eating food that wasn’t tested by the family’s professionals.

Since when did her baby start eating just anything?

"Madam, calm down!" the butler Uncle Sam kindly stated upon seeing his mistress’s outburst.

Upon hearing that, Lena glared at the old man and spoke angrily as she looked at him.

"Uncle Sam, you want

to calm down? If I do so, and then my baby ..... what if sothing bad happens to her? Who ..... just .... Do you think that I will remain calm like you want

to?"

Uncle Sam sighed helplessly as he looked at the woman who had been worried and anxious for months ever since the fifth Miss went on that unruly trip which was turning out to be for the better if it wasn’t for her talking about waterlons right now.

"Madam, by now, you should know that the fifth Miss won’t do anything that she isn’t prepared for. Haven’t you seen how many miracles that had happened while she was on the road?" Uncle Sam asked with a straight face.

When Lena heard that, she looked at the old man and then at her daughter who was now at a stall which was selling big, red and juicy waterlons. And judging by how her eyes were sparkling, she had an inkling already that her daughter was going to shock her big ti that night.

"You ... this ... Uncle Sam, it’s not like I am blind but I am worried. What if sothing happens to her?" Lena toned down after so thoughts.

Uncle Sam smiled with relief upon seeing Lena calming down as he wanted and said, "We should all be celebrating. Whether we understand what is happening exactly, the fifth Miss is indeed getting better. We have a month left before it is her birthday. So rather than stressing over a waterlon, we might as well think of what more things to add or subtract."

"This ... that is true. I should be confident in her and trust her. She had indeed gotten much better than when she was at ho. I will trust her and do my best as a mother," in the end, Lena compromised. She was a mother and seeing her daughter getting well though there was no guarantee that she would be completely healed as she wanted, it was still better to see her that way than cooped up in her villa waiting for death to arrive.

Uncle Sam bead upon hearing Lena acquiescing. With her thoughts back to being more optimistic, she began to watch the broadcast earnestly while jotting down ntally what her daughter liked and disliked.

It was only through the broadcasts she was learning all of that, anyway.

....

Zara looked at the truck full of waterlons and couldn’t help but sigh with envy. To think that even at this ti, people would have such big red waterlons, she felt sour.

If these people were to go to big cities, they would earn it big.

ZARA: Ask Uncle if he has a farm.

Emma noticed that pretty quickly and asked the uncle who was selling the waterlons respectfully.

"Uncle, my Miss wants to know if you own a farm?" Emma relayed the question Zara wanted to ask.

Zara looked at the uncle with anticipation, looking forward to the answer he would give.

The man was a bit taken aback earlier when the group of people suddenly sward to his truck. As soone who always sells waterlons in the sa spot, business was a bit low. After all, he wasn’t the only person who sold waterlons around May.

He stayed in a nearby village which had good soil enough to plant anything during any season. Waterlons were one of the produce available, and literally, most households had them. So many of them were selling them and at the sa ti, the town was small so the custors weren’t many.

So, to see so many people suddenly, he was frightened, but it was only after seeing the little girl in the wheelchair, that he finally felt at ease.

He could tell that all those people were guarding the girl in the wheelchair, so he beca more courageous.
