Chapter 224: Chapter 224: ETING AGAIN 2
"I regretted agreeing to help in this matter. Who would have guessed that preparing for an engagent party was that difficult?" she complained angrily, her anger not hidden from the five of them at all.
Hearing that, Zara burst into a peal of laughter, her mood getting uplifted as she recalled how tough it was for her family to prepare for those abrupt weddings.
"Hehe, sis, didn’t they let the event planners do the job?" Zara amusedly asked, wondering why Diamond should take on the mantle for soone else.
Was that family poor?
Upon hearing that, Diamond flicked her hair as she let out another sigh.
"They invited three of them, but who can foresee the future and what kind of madness awaits people? As if the deities aren’t happy with this union, in these past three days, there was one problem after another. Can you believe it that this very mont I am speaking, all the event planners are in the hospital?" Diamond chuckled angrily as she thought of how ridiculous everything had been going at the mont.
The five’s eyes nearly popped out when they heard that they couldn’t help but gasp in shock.
"Sis, are you kidding ?"
"Do you think that I have ti to joke?" Diamond said in lant as she looked at Zara. "I ca here two days ago, hoping that everything would be fine. All I just needed to do was wait for the day, give my congratulations and return ho, but alas, it didn’t happen like that. they ...."
When the Hansleys listened to the dramatic story of what Diamond was going through with this family, they couldn’t help but think of one thing; fate.
Could it be that the people getting engaged weren’t fated and the heavens were trying to warn them? Otherwise, why should it happen like that?
"When is the party?" Lena asked curiously, her thoughts wondering if it would be possible to see this couple the heavens were trying to stop from getting together.
"It’s tomorrow. If you are free, you can co!" Diamond invited the family on the spot.
"This ... sis, can you invite people to the party yourself?" Zara asked, a bit worried about what Diamond was doing.
It wasn’t a good thing to invite others when you weren’t the host.
Diamond smiled reassuringly at the other and responded, "Don’t worry. I am part of the family. If you are interested, just tell . You will not regret it!"
At hearing that, Zara looked at her parents with a sparkle in her eyes.
She wanted to go so badly. Although she didn’t know anyone there, just to see this couple forcing fate, she would be satisfied. In the future, she might find sothing to talk about.
She was really curious to know and see what kind of outco people who go against their fate would receive.
The other four were quite interested as well, and since the invitation had been sent, they decided to agree to attend.
Who didn’t love drama?
The waiter arrived and took their orders shortly after and, as they waited for the food to be delivered; they went straight into business.
"Before we do the transaction, I was wondering if you have two more pills with you?" Lena asked politely as she looked at Diamond with anticipatory eyes.
After talking it out with her husband yesterday, they decided to purchase pills enough to give to all the children, themselves and the elderly.
There were seven children in total, of which Zara already took the pill, so she was excluded, plus the four of them, making it ten. Then there was Selena, who was with them. The number would reach eleven. Having one extra or two at this point would help.
They didn’t mind spending more.
Diamond was silent for a while, as if lost in thoughts before she responded. "Sure. I can spare five more. But if you want more, I am afraid that I no longer have any. You would have to wait for at least a year or so before I can get my hands on it!" her expression seeming helpless.
When they heard that, they all heaved with relief. As long as they get them, waiting for years can also be done as well.
With the Hansley’s agreeing to this decision, the only thing remaining was to do the transaction.
When it cos to money, Diamond loved it so much, despite having a lot. And that was more than a billion. It wasn’t every day that she got to receive such kind of money in a day.
There was no need for any contracts to be signed. Diamond took out two jade bottles from her purse and counted the fifteen pills for them.
One bottle contained ten and the other five.
When the Hansleys confird the pills, Diamond also gave them the account number where they should do the transaction.
Since there was nothing illegal about what they were doing, no one used ghost accounts.
When the transfer was done, Diamond received a confirmation from Andrea since the transfer of such amounts tends to take a bit longer. A smile blossod on her face.
{Mother, they have sent A$2,5 billion. It will be in the account in three days!}
Without being told why there was an extra billion, she had an inkling of what that money was for, seeing how grateful the couple seed when looking at her.
They didn’t need to say this out loud. Just knowing it in their hearts was enough.
With the pills handed over and the money sent, the food finally arrived and the mood at the table was much greater than before.
While they ate, Zara was surprised when Diamond even encouraged her family mbers to invest with her investnt firm.
It was the first ti that Zara was learning what Diamond’s other jobs were. Online, she barely ntioned it in detail. People knew what she was into. For example, at the mont, she was known as the ambassador of this famous charity foundation which by far, in less than two years, had spent more than fifty million dollars in helping the needy.
She was more surprised when she learnt that the foundation belonged to Diamond herself, and yet she had never exposed that fact.
Just how many more other things was she hiding?
Maybe it was because of the trust that her family had in Diamond, but by the ti the dinner ended, her family mbers were convinced to invest in Diamond. And so was she.
Before they parted that night, Diamond promised to send cars to pick them up for the engagent party. It was going to be held in the evening. And she told them to look forward to it.
Knowing that there might be sothing good at the party, they all returned to their rooms filled with anticipation.
They couldn’t wait.
