Only when Yao Tang had spoken up did everyone co to their senses. Before she knew it, questions started flying from one corner to another.
At first, they had looked down on Yao Tang, thinking that she had just gotten in due to her supposed "connections". Now, they really understood just how intelligent she was.
She was so young, yet she already knew so much. There was sothing about her that had revived their passion for their studies. Yao Tang was truly sothing else.
All of them swore to work even harder.
Yao Tang didn't expect that the university would be in an uproar. All of them were working hard, even the students were curious to what had started the change.
She stood by the entrance when a car rolled pass. The windows rolled down, revealing Cheng Yan. She blinked. "What are you doing here?"
"You had finished your exam. Since there's nothing else, I ca to pick you up. There's a new restaurant that I'd like to try with you."
"Hm." Yao Tang nodded and got into the car. After a long day, she drifted off in the car—the soft engine lulling her into the dark.
Cheng Yan gazed at her sleeping face, and his lips twitched.
She had just woken up, and now she was being dragged halfway across China to an exam room. She must be exhausted. And there was nothing else he could do.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the new restaurant. Just as Cheng Yan was about to call her, he saw that she was already seated upright.
Her eyes were clear and bright, and she didn't look like a person who had just woken up from her slumber. Yao Tang glanced at her surroundings, pursing her lips. It looked like the restaurant was built out of nowhere. There wasn't any hustle and bustle that she was expecting from a restaurant, and the bright green lawns gave her an illusion of a wedding venue.
"This is the new restaurant?"
"Yeah, you need to reserve around two weeks before to get in. After the dinner, the restaurant provides facilities where you can watch a movie, play basketball, relax in the hot springs—you get the idea. It's not just any other restaurant."
She inhaled. "The air slls really fresh around here. Thank you," Yao Tang slowly said. "But...it's just that I've troubled you. You ca all the way here—"
"I'm the boss. Reservations co easy for ."
Right. It was expected of him.
Cheng Yan stretched out his arm and motioned for her to take it. Despite her hesitation, she finally cooperated with him. The two of them made their way into the restaurant where the waiter greeted them with a smile.
However, as they were walking down the beautiful hallway, she heard a familiar voice echoing across the room. "Sister? You're here?" Yao Tang looked to the side to see Yao Ran standing beside him. Beside her was Yang Ming. If anyone were to see them, they would've looked like any other couple with their interlocked hands and their close stature.
She pursed her lips. "Mr. Yang Ming must be Miss ng Ling's fiancé, correct? Shouldn't you be taking care of her? She's having a hard ti with her hand. To see you with Yao Ran now...it's quite surprising."
If it had been anyone else who had said these words, Yang Ming would've snapped at them. However, Yao Tang was not anyone else. He knew that she had plenty of people protecting her, and he shouldn't make things difficult. Furthermore, the man beside her was one he was not familiar with.
He smiled awkwardly. "I heard about this new restaurant. At first, I wanted to co and eat with Ling'er, but you know her condition. It's why I brought Yao Ran here to experience it first. If everything goes smoothly, I'll bring her next ti."
Yao Ran, however, didn't look convinced. "So you're treating her as ng Ling's backup?"
Hearing her words, Yao Ran's expression darkened. Her grip on Yang Ming's arm tightened. However, before she could say a word, he slowly moved away from her. "Brother," she slowly said, gazing up at him. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have co with you."
With this, she took a step back. "Why don't I leave first? You can go and et up with Sister ng Ling."
Yao Tang raised her eyebrow, but she didn't say a word.
