Chapter 764: The Green Cloud Pavilion
Elder Nie was known within the association as a kind and well-respected elder. A lot of people looked up to him. No one could have expected him to be the one to betray the Cabinet.
He let out a chuckle and stamped his walking stick on the ground.
“Little Miss Yao, we are from the Green Cloud Pavilion. For your sake, I do hope you will consider joining our ranks. We can give you anything you want as long as you co with us.”
Only then did Yao Tang notice a brooch just above the left breast pocket of his suit jacket. It was the shape of a little blue cloud.
The more she looked at it, the more she realized that the rest of the n wore the sa token, even the fallen ones.
It must be the symbol of their organization.
“Tell , are you really the new apprentice that the Cabinet Elders have taken in?” Elder Nie asked, his eyes flashing sharply. “Or are you just so thug they had sent to ambush my people?”
Despite all his bravado, Elder Nie was also confused at this unexpected turn of events.
If Yao Tang was a re apprentice, then how co her martial arts were so powerful? At the very least, she would have been admitted as an elite bodyguard for the elders.
After all, she had managed to defeat his n all by herself.
He had never encountered such a predicant before.
Elder Nie hated to admit it, but he was at a loss.
Furthermore, if Yao Tang was rely acting like the Cabinet Elders’ mad dog, then how was she able to manifest the sa spiritual attacks practiced by those old geezers? Who taught her those skills?
Most important of all, if the Cabinet had really sent her here, then why did it seem like she knew nothing about the Green Cloud Pavilion?
No matter how hard he tried to assess the situation, Elder Nie could not co up with a reasonable explanation.
This was why he had rushed over at the last minute. He wanted to win her over and get her over to his side. But first, he needed to know exactly who this girl was.
He stepped forward and raised his chin arrogantly. “Those old fogeys from the Cabinet should have been buried long ago. No, the Cabinet itself should have disappeared ages ago! Only the Green Cloud Pavilion is worthy of overseeing the entire Music Association.
“Those ancient sticks can’t even move properly these days, and they have no one to count on from the younger generation. They might as well step down. If you don’t join the Green Cloud Pavilion now, I assure you that you will sorely regret it in the future.”
Elder Nie’s usually gentle eyes were now filled with ridicule and malice.
Still, Yao Tang’s face remained blank.
She didn’t seem the least bit concerned about his threats.
“What if I don’t go with you?” Yao Tang said lightly after a while.
Elder Nie was understandably bewildered by her reaction. He didn’t expect her to maintain her composure after hearing what he had said. She even dared to challenge him!
“Then I shall advise you to reconsider carefully. You must know that the Green Cloud Pavilion doesn’t recruit just anyone.”
Elder Nie sneered before adding, “We can provide you with better resources so that you can completely crush your rivals and beco the number one prodigy in the entire Music Association.”
Yao Tang said nothing for a mont.
“Well?” the old man prodded smugly, certain that she was about to agree. “What do you think?”
Just then, a man standing behind Elder Nie scoffed impatiently. He had a full beard and a murderous glint in his eyes.
“You’d better count yourself lucky to get this opportunity,” he said to Yao Tang, his voice dripping with disdain. “I don’t know what sort of abilities you have to make our Elder Nie personally extend an invitation to you, but you would do well to not waste our ti and just accept it.”
President Tan almost burst out laughing when he heard this.
The Music Association was not a minor organization, to begin with, let alone the prestigious Cabinet.
And yet, Yao Tang wasn’t even willing to enter the Cabinet if she hadn’t been offered access to so secret tos.
Why would she even consider being a part of sothing as insignificant as the Green Cloud Pavilion?
These hooligans didn’t even have a proper base to speak of. They rely slink in the darkness and resort to underhanded tricks to strike at the Cabinet Elders.
How dare they act so pompous when they weren’t even that great?
Even an ordinary person like President Tan wasn’t tempted to join them, how much more Yao Tang, whose gifts far exceeded that of everyone present?
President Tan leaned back in anticipation as he waited for Yao Tang to put the self-righteous Elder Nie in his place. He knew just how ruthless she could be. He was looking forward to it.
