Just as she was about to take a step forward, however, she heard Yao Ranspeak in that sickening, sweet voice of hers. “It’s all right,Young Master Yang. It’s our fault for arriving early. It would be better for us to wait here, and we can all go inside together.”
Yang Nian nodded and did not insist any further.
Yan Wei, on the other hand, rolled her eyes to the side. She struggled to stifle her anger and not lash out at Yao Ran. She couldn’t do that, not withYang Nianaround.
Just then, another figure walked past the gates.
It caught Yang Nian’s attention, mainly because the person’s gait was a little familiar. He frowned slightly as he watched the girl pass by.
Before she could completely disappear, Yang Nianfound himself calling out to her. “Is that you, StudentYao Tang?”
A hush fell over the small crowd at the ntion of her na.
Yan Wei andYao Ranboth turned in the direction ofYang Nian’s gaze, their expressions dark and a little hostile.
As for the other guests, they knew that Yao Tang and Yan Wei had a grudge to settle, and they were rather looking forward to what would happen next. But they had heard the uncertainty in Yang Nian’s voice, and they knew it wouldn’t do them any good to open their mouths.
The girl didn’t react to Yang Nian’s words and continued on her way, as If she had heard nothing at all.

Li Ruo realized then that the other girl hadn’t heard everything she had said just now.
She flushed in embarrassnt under Yao Tang’s piercing glare.
