However, ng Yang didn’t look convinced. Instead, he strolled to the nearest trash can and chucked the contents of the tray down the plastic. “You shouldn’t be eating this,” he chastised. “What if it’s infected or sothing?”
“It’s not like she’s eaten it yet.” Yao Tang shrugged. “It would be a waste if she threw it away.”
“Have you forgotten the ti you ate sothing bad a few years ago and you vomited all over ? I’m not saying it’ll happen, but it’s best to avoid stuff like that, right?” ng Yang sighed in frustration, running his fingers up his hair. “Look, I’ll have the chef make so food for you.”
She simply nodded in response.
As he spoke, the young man turned to Yu Shu and Yao Ranwith a scowl. “Since you’re so generous in offering her your lunch, why don’t you be a little more generous and treat everyone else here?”
Yu Shu was still in a daze as she regarded ng Yangand his other friends. By the ti he had finished talking, the entire dining hall began chanting.
“Treat us all to lunch! Treat us all to lunch!”
“Co on, guys, it’s free!”
“Class One’s beauty queen is going to treat everyone here.”
As soon as everyone said this, people from different directions sward over. One by one, they all shouted their thanks at the duo as they headed toward the window, with plates up in the air.
They all had large smiles in their faces.
Lin Xin’s smile widened. “I didn’t know you were this generous, Yao Ran.”
Yao Ran stiffened. “Sister,” she quickly said. “We were just kidding. It’s not like the lady did it on purpose. Aren’t you going a little too far by letting ng Yangdo this to us?”
“That’s right,” Yu Shu imdiately backed her up. “We were just kidding.”
ng Yang, who had been standing at the side this entire ti, already had enough of their babbling. Rolling his eyes, he pulled Yao Tang and Lin Xindown the corridor, straight to the exit. However, Yao Tangstill managed to turn her head. “I don’t mind.”
Hope rose in her eyes. However, just as she was about to say sothing else, Yao Tang smirked. “We were just kidding too. Don’t mind us.”
“I...” She turned a dark shade of green, unable to say another word.
As she watched them leave, Yao Ran dug her fingers deeper into her palm. “Yao Tang,” she murmured with hate bubbling in her chest. Just that bitch waits! As soon as they all finished participating in the Olympiad Math Competition, she’d know what it would feel like to taste defeat.
Yu Shu stomped her foot and left the premises.
..
“Principal Kong, Yao Tang will be participating in the school’s Olympiad Math Competition, right?”
Yu Shu sat in the principal’s office. Her expression was as calm as day as she stared at the old man sitting in front of her.
“You know Yao Tang?”
He blinked back in surprise.
“Yeah, I t her at a friend’s house a few months ago.” She nodded. “So, you can say that we were quite well-acquainted with each other. I actually just passed by the school to see her.”
“Oh, that’s great! I’ll arrange for you to enter the premises. You can be one of the watchers there.”
Principal Kong bead.
Hearing this, Yu Shu grinned up at him, nodding in agreent. “I’ll do it,” she said.
Ah, this was just an opportunity she couldn’t miss!
She’d definitely teach that Yao Tang a lesson of justice! There was no way she was going to ss with her and get away with it. She was definitely going to destroy her in that competition.
..
Soon, the competition had arrived.
It was already half past one in the afternoon, just around half an hour before the competition started. All the participants started entering the hall, one after the other.
Only a few people were still lingering outside the venue.
Xi Yan was still anxiously typing on her phone outside the competition building. They had half an hour left, and she still saw no sign of Yao Tang.
Where was she?
Sweat trickled down her forehead as she looked from left to right. No, there was no way she could allow her to be absent—not on this very important day.
If Yao Tang wouldn’t arrive...
Just the thought of the consequences waiting for them made her shiver. With a gulp, she hurriedly dialed her number once more.
