Chapter 871: Chapter 871: Days Without a Wife
The day Sienna Johnson left Abyanabad, the weather was great, with the sun shining bright.
It had rained the night before, and the sky was washed clean, bringing a hint of coolness, unlike the usual hot weather.
Adrian Desmond watched Sienna’s back. She wore a floral long dress today, with a white sun hat. She detested the heat and had her long hair tied into a long, loose braid.
Her body was straight as she walked, exuding confidence and a wild charm. A woman like her, confined within the small land of family, might truly wither away.
The plane ascended, gradually shrinking and finally becoming a small black dot, disappearing completely from Adrian’s sight. Yet, he still hadn’t withdrawn his gaze.
Sienna was gone, and Adrian felt empty inside.
Brandon Potter said, "Sixth Master, let’s go back."
Brandon knew it wasn’t the time to disturb Adrian, but he had been standing there for half an hour already.
She was genuinely worried that if she didn’t say something, Adrian could stand there all day.
"Damn it! That woman didn’t even look back at me once!"
Alyssa: ...

Lately, everyone knew Adrian’s wife had run away again, leaving him in a bad mood. So, Dan Taylor contacted a few close friends to go out and have some fun.
Dan took the initiative to call Adrian, "Adrian, free tonight?"
"What are you up to again?" Adrian, of late, was even irritated with Dan.
Adrian thought if it weren’t for Dan borrowing money from him all the time, making Sienna unhappy, she wouldn’t have insisted on returning to Sileria City.
"Wow, just as I thought, your wife left, and you’re in a bad mood."
"..."
"We all know you’re feeling down, so we want to invite you out to cheer up. We’re at ’No. 13’ now, come over quickly."
"No. 13" is an underground casino.
Compared to legitimate casinos, No. 13 is about the thrill. There was once a Raelnian actress who gambled herself as a stake, and in the end, was "played" to death by men in the casino.
Adrian had no mood for gambling now, and Sienna despised people who indulged in gambling, drinking, and debauchery.
"Not going!"
"Why not?"
"No money!"
Dan laughed, incredulous, "Adrian, are you kidding me? If you don’t have money, who does? Among us, you’re the wealthiest. Come now, my luck’s fantastic today. I have to win a big sum from you."
"I gave all my money to Sienna! My daily spending limit is only 150 thousand dollars! It’s already spent today."
Dan couldn’t believe it, "Adrian, you must be joking with me?"
"I’m in no mood to joke!"
Adrian hung up the phone, and the noisy sounds of the casino disappeared.
Adrian lay on the bed, waiting for a call from Sienna. It was past ten, and still, no call had come, and Adrian began to grow restless.
"I knew it; this woman can’t be trusted. She must’ve been so happy after getting home that she forgot to call me."
Angrily, Adrian turned off his phone and covered his head with a pillow, sulking.
A few minutes later, unable to resist, Adrian turned his phone back on and found a missed call. Thrilled, he opened it to see Dan’s number, and he tossed the phone aside.
"Sienna, you broke your word. I’ll fetch you back tomorrow!"
At 11 o’clock,
Adrian’s phone suddenly rang. He picked it up eagerly, but thinking about how this woman had left him waiting so long, he felt vexed and let the phone ring a couple more times out of spite.
"Hello..." Adrian said arrogantly.
"Husband, are you asleep?" The woman teased, with a bit of a coquettish tone, making Adrian swallow all his complaints.
"Not yet."
All that arrogance seemed trivial, totally trivial!
"When I got back, there were just too many things to deal with. I’ve been busy until now, worried you might be asleep."
Adrian said with concern, "Don’t tire yourself out."
"No, your daughter hasn’t seen me in a long time. She was being so clingy, wanted me to bathe her, braid her hair, tell her stories, and sing her to sleep." Sienna’s voice carried joy, which made Adrian feel rather uneasy.
She left him, and seemed so happy; yet he wasn’t happy at all.
Sienna left, taking his spirit with her; he couldn’t lift his spirits all day.
"Sienna, I miss you, miss you so much, it’s been only a day and I can’t take it.
Tell me, what should I do?"
"If you can’t bear to be apart, come settle in Sileria City with me. Mom and Grandma asked today why you didn’t come back with me."
"You know I can’t now..."
"Then I’ll wait for you, Adrian!"
"Okay!"
He couldn’t let go of his business and the influence he had built here. And there was the Night Owl; although he had been quiet lately, Adrian knew Night Owl too well to think he would give up so easily.
"Take good care of yourself over there."
"You too."
"How’s Curly doing?"
"Great, she’s grown taller. Without your spoiling, she’s toned down a lot."
"Blame me?"
"Who else to blame? A girl with such a domineering temper, who can stand her in the future."
Before the age of 13, Sienna was just an ordinary girl; after 13, back with the Johnson Family, attending the most prestigious school in Sileria City, where girls, relying on their family background, were arrogant and reckless, something Sienna detested.
She hoped Curly would be born into wealth yet still retain a pure, humble, gentle nature, neither arrogant nor rash!
"My daughter, Adrian Desmond’s daughter, has every right to be reckless!" Adrian didn’t think indulging Curly was wrong at all.
Whoever dared to mess with his daughter, he’d teach her to whip them!
Sienna sighed, "Adrian, please, don’t say such things in front of Curly, I’m begging you."
"Got it."
"I love you, Adrian, sleep tight, you have work tomorrow," Sienna said softly.
"You wake me up tomorrow!"
"I’m afraid I won’t be able to tomorrow."
Joking, Adrian had to get up at 6 AM to jog, exercise, she couldn’t possibly wake up for that.
Asking her to wake him at 6 would be like tormenting a pregnant woman!
"Sienna, today I only spent 150 thousand dollars!"
"That’s great," Sienna praised, though she was thinking that 150 thousand dollars was still a lot.
She couldn’t even spend 1.5 thousand dollars in a day.
But for a man who spent big and was free with money, this was progress.
"Dan invited me to gamble, and I didn’t go."
"Oh."
"Sienna, when will you come to Abyanabad?"
"I just got home today."
"Just a day? But it feels like you’ve been gone so long."
Sienna: ...
