Chapter 868: Chapter 869: I Want to Hear Lies

"Although Adrian Desmond and I are married, we’ve always been financially independent. His money is his, and my money is mine.

He transferred his money to me initially because he was poisoned and not in good health. Now that the antidote has been made, he shouldn’t have any issues with his health.

So, I don’t need to manage those businesses for him anymore."

"..."

"Eastminster Group may be small compared to Adrian’s wealth and might not be worth mentioning, but it’s mine. As long as I manage it attentively, it will eventually grow and prosper.

I don’t want to waste my efforts on Adrian’s businesses, working hard to make money only for him to squander it!"

The two of them have different consumption philosophies, and Sienna Johnson doesn’t want this to affect their relationship.

Returning to the original state would be fine.

"President Johnson, I understand what you mean."

They are both independent women, so communication is easy, which is why they have been able to work together for so many years.

"Accompany me to the court, will you?"

"Sure."

Brett Jacobs followed along, driving the car himself. In the back seat, Vivian Abbey meticulously prepared all the documents and found a well-known law firm in Abyanabad, hiring a Lawyer Smith.

"President Johnson, the transfer fees for property in Abyanabad are not low. This procedure will shrink the Sixth Master’s assets considerably," Vivian Abbey reminded.

"Such small money, the Sixth Master wouldn’t care about."

Her?

As long as it’s not her own money being spent, she wouldn’t mind. The transfer fees would, of course, be deducted from Adrian’s assets.

The driving Brett Jacobs was feeling very conflicted at the moment.

On one side was his own wife, and on the other was the Sixth Master. He hesitated whether to inform the Sixth Master about this, as it was clear the Sixth Master was unaware.

...

At the Abyanabad court,

When Sienna Johnson arrived, the lawyer hired by Vivian Abbey was already there, waiting for them at the entrance.

They had video-called before, so Vivian Abbey knew what Lawyer Smith looked like, and Lawyer Smith knew what Vivian Abbey looked like.

Lawyer Smith approached them, greeting in English, "Miss Abbey, hello."

"I am President Johnson’s secretary, just call me Secretary Scarlet," Vivian Abbey said assertively.

"And this is President Johnson?" Lawyer Smith greeted while looking at Sienna Johnson.

"That’s me."

"President Johnson, everything has been arranged inside, it will take just one hour to complete."

This business is straightforward in procedure and offers high commissions, so Lawyer Smith felt he got a great deal.

"I’ll have to trouble you then, Lawyer Smith."

Vivian Abbey was very cautious, and because they were unfamiliar with the area, she had also hired a highly-rated Orienta Diaspora lawyer to supervise, to prevent any procedural errors.

After working for an hour, they completed all the tasks.

Sienna Johnson, out of her own pocket, gave both lawyers an extra commission to thank them.

On the way home, Adrian called her, asking why she wasn’t home, by which time Sienna had already taken care of everything.

"No need to come find me, I’ll be back soon."

"Alright, be careful on the road, tell the driver to drive slowly!"

"Mhm, got it."

...

Adrian wanted to see Sienna Johnson as soon as possible, so after hanging up, he waited for her in the front yard. As soon as the car pulled in, Adrian came over.

"The servant told me you went out all afternoon, what did you go to do?" Adrian opened the car door for her, and Sienna took his elbow to get out of the car.

"The antidote is ready, here, drink it."

Sienna took out a small glass bottle from her crossbody bag and handed it to Adrian.

"You’ve been carrying it all this time?"

"Mhm, since Reggie Dewey gave it to me, I haven’t let it out of my sight." Sienna was worried that the medicine might be swapped or tampered with, so she kept it with her all along.

Adrian unscrewed the cap and drank it all without a second glance. After finishing, Sienna handed him the water bottle she carried for him to rinse out his mouth.

"Drinking it so eagerly, aren’t you afraid it’s poison?"

"Even if you poisoned me, I’d willingly accept it."

Adrian was not much for sweet talk, but when he did speak, it was no less than those who were masters of romance. Especially when he set his mind to entice you, his words were like a dense and tight , making it impossible for you to escape.

"If you don’t behave, I’ll poison you!"

"Alright!"

"Are you experiencing any adverse reactions in your body?"

"What do you mean by adverse reactions?"

"Any places where you feel uncomfortable."

"I feel quite comfortable."
