Chapter 865: Chapter 867: Handing Over the Black Gold Card
Sienna Johnson was stabbed in the chest with a knife but she wasn’t dead. She was utterly terrified, her wide eyes filled with shock.
Sabrina Conner squatted down, looking at her dagger, two-thirds buried, and said, "Auntie Agatha, what does Sixth Master mean by this? Wasn’t the heart supposed to be gouged out? Why just a single stab?"
"..."
"Should I help Sixth Master and take the heart out?"
Alyssa: ...
Sabrina Conner scratched her head, scattering dandruff everywhere, "Oh, Sixth Master’s mind is beyond me. Auntie Agatha, you’re the bug in Sixth Master’s gut, what do you think Sixth Master really means?"
Alyssa looked at Melanie Carpenter’s wound and took out her phone to dial for emergency services.
"Auntie Agatha, have you lost your mind, calling for an ambulance? If the doctor asks how she got hurt, what do we say?"
"Suicide!" Alyssa spat out two words.
"Did you ask Sixth Master what he wanted? Did he want you to save her?"
Alyssa looked at Sabrina Conner as if she were an idiot, "I really feel like kicking you back to the base!" She had truly misjudged her.
Alyssa directed the servant to find Adolph Desmond, get a stretcher, and carry Melanie Carpenter to the front yard so she could be saved the moment the ambulance arrived.
Barnes Smythe finished an apple, walked in, glanced at Melanie Carpenter’s wound, and continued inside, heading toward the dining table.
The table was filled with good dishes, but due to Melanie Carpenter’s interruption, hardly anyone had touched them.
Barnes Smythe conscientiously avoided wasting food, sat down, and began eating.
Nearby was a woman who had been stabbed, and a noisy Sabrina Conner, yet Barnes Smythe’s appetite was completely unaffected.
"Uncle Desmond, you’re finally here." Alyssa really wasn’t good at handling such situations. Seeing Adolph Desmond arrive felt like seeing a savior.
"What’s going on?"
Alyssa recounted all the reckless things Melanie Carpenter had done to Adolph Desmond.
Adolph Desmond finished listening and just sighed, "Such a good kid, what a pity."
Sabrina Conner didn’t sympathize with Melanie Carpenter, "Pity for what? She got what she wanted! She wanted Sixth Master to know how much she loved herself, and Sixth Master just tested her. This woman couldn’t even take the shock and passed out."
"..."
"Seems she doesn’t truly love Sixth Master, does she?"
Sabrina Conner pulled out the dagger, and blood gushed forth.
"No!" It was too late for Alyssa to stop her.
Sabrina Conner held the blood-stained dagger, looking innocent, "This dagger is mine!"
Alyssa: ...
The ambulance arrived, Adolph Desmond arranged for the doctor to send the nearly dying Melanie Carpenter onto the ambulance, and went along himself.
Sabrina Conner didn’t go with them, she had lost interest in what would happen next.
"Mila, don’t you think Auntie Agatha is silly? Sixth Master didn’t say whether to save that crazy woman, yet she called the ambulance."
"Sixth Master didn’t want to kill her! The dagger seemed to pierce the heart but it actually missed the heart!" Barnes Smythe explained.
Sabrina Conner gossiped, "Could it be that Sixth Master still has feelings for that crazy woman?"
"Matters of the heart, I don’t understand. You should ask Sixth Master."
Sabrina Conner was courting death if she went to ask Sixth Master such questions, hadn’t she seen Sixth Master’s dark face when he left?
"Do you think Madam will make Sixth Master kneel on a washboard?"
"What’s a washboard for?"
"For laundry. Chinese women punish disobedient men by making them kneel on a washboard! Chinese women are scary!"
Sabrina Conner sat next to Barnes Smythe and ate with him, "****! Why is Madam’s dinner so delicious while ours is so awful?"
"Because Madam is pregnant!"
"It’s blatant discrimination that I can’t bear children!"
...
Sienna Johnson walked slowly, Adrian Desmond thought he would catch up with her soon, but when he reached their residence, Sienna Johnson wasn’t there.
Melly was just gathering the bedding that had been aired out today. Seeing Adrian Desmond, she greeted,
"Good evening, Sixth Master."
"Where’s Madam?"
"In the study, reading."
Adrian Desmond told Melly, "Madam didn’t eat much for dinner, have the kitchen prepare another serving and deliver it in about an hour."
"Yes."
Melly bowed her head, wondering: Did they have an argument again? The kitchen had just delivered the meal to the dining room.
Adrian Desmond strode upstairs toward the study, and through the study’s open window, he saw the woman lounging in the recliner looking relaxed.
This woman always gave him the feeling that whatever he did, she could abandon him without hesitation at any moment.
If this woman could love him as deeply as Melanie Carpenter loved him, he wouldn’t be as insecure as he was now.
Raising his eyes, their gazes met through the window and Sienna Johnson gave him a faint smile.
Adrian Desmond pushed the door and walked in, Sienna Johnson asked, "What about Melanie Carpenter? You didn’t have a soft heart and let her stay, did you?"
"Am I that muddle-headed?"
"You weren’t without being muddle-headed before."
"I won’t be in the future!"
"Good!"
Sienna Johnson disliked Melanie Carpenter; for someone like Sienna Johnson who was independent, dignified, strong, and self-loving, Melanie Carpenter was an incomprehensible existence.
"What book are you reading?"
"Dream of the Red Chamber."
Chinese, and the densely packed characters made Adrian Desmond feel a headache with just a glance.
"You’re pregnant, read less."
"Dream of the Red Chamber must be read; it’s a book about pursuing girls?"
"Oh? Does it teach how to pursue girls?" Adrian Desmond decided to overcome this book someday.
"Yes, the protagonist is called Jia Baoyu, and the Garden of Grand View had a heap of beauties who all loved him."
"Isn’t that like Dan Taylor?"
Adrian Desmond mentioned Dan Taylor, reminding Sienna Johnson of Adrian Desmond lending money to Dan Taylor.
"Sixth Master has a Black Gold Card, right?"
"Yes, do you need it? I can get you a supplementary card!" Adrian Desmond said.
"Submit the Black Gold Card tomorrow!"
"Why?"
Sienna Johnson glared at Adrian Desmond, "In Orienta, men have to hand over their salary cards to their wives. Your Black Gold Card is a card, so naturally, it has to be handed to your wife!"
"..."
"What, you have objections?"
Adrian Desmond didn’t dare say he had objections, "I have high expenses, without the Black Gold Card, it’s inconvenient for me."
"Precisely because Sixth Master’s expenses are high, it needs to be submitted. After all, buying over ten Porsches at once isn’t something normally done."
"Dan Taylor bought them for his wives."
"But it was your money, how did it become Dan Taylor bought them for his wives? Sixth Master, you’ve never gifted me a Porsche."
"If you like, I’ll buy one for you."
Sienna Johnson slammed the book shut, "Johnson Family’s ancestral teachings: descendants must not be decadent or indulgent!"
