Chapter 834: Chapter 848: Pranking Melanie Carpenter (Part 2)
Sienna Johnson, being pregnant, dared not get close when the substance was uncertain.
"Put it away!"
"Yes, Madam!"
"You only took a part of it?"
Sally said, "Yes, I was afraid that Miss Carpenter would notice, so I took only a little."
"Sally, find something similar and replace everything inside! Use salt for those crystals, and find a similar color for the liquid. Also... change the bottle! The bottle must look identical!" Sienna said cautiously.
"Will it be discovered?"
"How could it be? Unless Melanie Carpenter wants to taste it and try?"
Sally lowered her head, and Sienna said, "Go ahead."
"Should we tell Sixth Master about this?"
"Not for now!"
"Madam, then I’ll be on my way."
Sienna instructed Sally, "Go and bring Melly in."
"Yes, Madam."
Sally carefully placed the items taken from Melanie Carpenter into Sienna’s safe and then left.
Sienna looked at the items inside, cautiously locking the safe. She stared at it and sighed.
If Elliot Carpenter and Melanie Carpenter truly dared to poison Adrian Desmond, Sienna Johnson would have no choice but to retaliate against them.
Killing someone is like this; once you’ve killed the first and overcome the psychological barrier, killing the second and third becomes easier.
...
Melly knocked on the door and came in, softly saying to Sienna Johnson, "Madam, were you looking for me?"
"I need to make a trip to the airport. Could you check if the car is ready?"
"Yes, Madam!"
Sienna walked to the dressing table, looked at her face, applied makeup to hide her fatigue.
Melly ran back quickly and reported to Sienna, "Madam, the car is ready, should we leave now?"
"Yes."
The incident with Melanie Carpenter had put Sienna in a foul mood.
What on earth was Adrian Desmond thinking?
Knowing full well she despised the Carpenter Family and Melanie Carpenter, yet he still let Melanie move in.
Sienna, feeling suffocated with anger, left the room that had been tainted by Melanie’s visit.
As she passed through the back garden, she looked at the pond of lotuses and asked Melly to pick one for her.
The scent of the lotuses should have calmed her, but it did not.
"Sister-in-law."
Sienna turned to see Paige standing there, and she smiled, "What brings you to see me so early?" The path led to her quarters.
"I heard Melanie Carpenter came to see you."
"She did."
Paige looked worried, "Don’t believe anything she says. My brother loves you; she poses no threat to you."
"Paige, what do you think is wrong with your brother lately?"
"My brother’s been a bit confused lately..." Paige wanted to defend her brother but didn’t know what to say.
"It’s more than just confusion; he’s as dumb as a pig!"
Sienna was so furious she didn’t hide her anger at Adrian from Paige.
"Sister-in-law, you shouldn’t have saved her this morning. Didn’t she insist on my brother saving her? Then let her wait for him to come back." Paige was also frustrated.
"She wants to die, but I can’t let her die in my house!"
"That’s right, sister-in-law."
Sienna looked at Paige, who was concerned about her and Adrian, feeling grateful, "There’s nothing wrong between your brother and me, you don’t need to worry."
"My brother can be... a bit much at times... please be patient with him..."
"I know."
"..."
"I have some friends coming over frequently; I need to pick them up, pardon me."
"Alright." Paige stepped aside, watching Sienna leave.
Watching Sienna’s disappearing figure, Paige worried about her brother. "Forget it, a man won’t learn unless he suffers a bit."
...
At the A&K club,
Adrian Desmond had spent the night here. Last night, his poisoning investigation finally yielded results, and the suspect was Elliot Carpenter!
He sent out three groups of people, and all three investigations pointed to Elliot Carpenter as the suspect, leaving Adrian unable to find an excuse for him.
Adrian felt extremely cold, as if he were soaked in ice.
looked at Adrian and said, "Sixth Master, Madam is not answering the phone."
Sienna was his warmth, and with his heart chilled to the bone, Adrian just wanted to hear her voice, even if she scolded him a bit.
But Sienna refused to take his calls. He even had 002 call her with his phone, but it was no use.
She was genuinely upset this time.
"Return to Desmond Manor!"
...
At Abyanabad International Airport,
Sienna was in the cafe at the airport waiting for Reggie Dewey and company to arrive. The plane was delayed.
Sienna was not in a hurry; she ordered a cup of coffee, not to drink, but simply to enjoy its aroma while flipping through a magazine.
"Madam, Sixth Master called you." Melly held the phone, looking at Sienna nervously.
"Give it to me."
Like tossing a hot potato, Melly handed the phone to Sienna, who promptly hung up and blocked the number with swift precision.
"Madam, you hung up on Sixth Master?"
"I don’t want to talk to him right now!"
Melly felt a chill down her spine, "But, won’t Sixth Master be angry?"
Sienna snorted coldly, "I couldn’t care less if he’s angry!"
Melly: ...
The cafe offered a great view of the planes taking off and landing. If she weren’t worried that Adrian, that fool, might get played to death by Elliot Carpenter, Sienna would have taken the next flight back to Sileria City.
She’d prefer Adrian to be a little more heartless towards her, just like he was back then, so she could leave without any hesitation. Now... Sienna couldn’t let Adrian go.
"Madam, the plane from Sileria City has arrived."
"Let’s go and have a look."
