After half a day of dance class, the eight of them walked out of the dance classroom towards the cafeteria. Not only were they drenched in sweat, but everyone except Daisy Zane was also walking with a limp.
The more they tried to walk normally, the more their legs refused to cooperate.
The eight of them instantly beca a spectacular sight.
In order to avoid any unnecessary attention, Daisy Zane glanced at the other seven and then rcilessly left them behind.
“Brook God.”
“Daisy.”
“Daisy Zane.”
Daisy Zane, deaf to their calls, made her way to the cafeteria.
Arriving at the cafeteria, she glanced at the spot where she had eaten breakfast and lunch. Sure enough, she saw Alie Quentin waiting for her.
She walked over and gently tapped the table with her finger.
Alie Quentin, who had her headphones on and was playing a ga, glanced up when she noticed the movent on the table.
She froze for a mont when she saw Daisy Zane.
Daisy was still in her practice outfit, her hair tied up in a bun.
It magnified her usual grace several tis, and added a touch of uniqueness common to dancers.
Seeing Alie Quentin staring, Daisy Zane poked her smooth little face, “What, don’t you recognize ?”
“You… you took a dance class?” Alie Quentin stuttered, regaining her senses.
“Yeah.” Daisy Zane sat down, put on a disposable glove, peeled a shrimp to eat, and then peeled another one for Alie Quentin, “Don’t bother bringing my lunch tomorrow, I’ll eat in the cafeteria.”
“Tell that to my brother,” Alie Quentin replied, “he was the one who sent it.”
“Can you help pass the ssage along to him?”
“No.”
Daisy Zane shot her a look, laughed, and dropped the matter.
Daisy Zane had a substantial dinner and had planned to go for a run on the playground after the evening self-study.
But that didn’t happen.
The assistant gave her two experints that needed to be done.
The reports had to be handed in tomorrow afternoon.
So she sent a ssage to Jas Collins, who had just arrived at Imperial Capital University, asking him to bring her laptop and wait for her outside the school.
After the evening self-study, she returned to her dormitory. It didn’t take long before she received a call from Kevin Clark.
She went to the balcony to receive the call.
Kevin Clark’s voice sounded hoarse as if he hadn’t spoken in a long ti, “Does your hand hurt?”
“No.”
“Rember to apply the dicine in the evening.”
“Hmm.” After Daisy Zane agreed, she asked, “Did they catch the person at the school?”
“Yes, we checked the surveillance.” Kevin Clark replied, “It was a cleaner. The sa cleaner you asked for directions.”
Daisy Zane squinted; she suddenly rembered that when she asked where the trash bin was, the cleaner’s eyes had flickered. She was too busy then, so she hadn’t paid attention, “How did he…end up near the art building?”
“According to his confession, he followed Alie Quentin from the teaching building to the garbage pit, and after passing on the ssage. He was too scared, so he chose a location far from both the teaching building and the garbage pit. The art building.”
“People are being bribed to go inside the school.” Daisy Zane stated, “A lot of effort has been put into this. What about Edward Kirsten’s people? Have they confessed anything?”
“No, they said they were just following orders.” Kevin Clark replied, “And we checked; they don’t have any tattoos on them.”
Last ti Edward Kirsten was almost exposed, he managed to withdraw from Koymoon Island as soon as he learned his people were captured. He would definitely not make the sa mistake again this ti.
Daisy Zane said nothing. If they couldn’t find Edward Kirsten’s people soon, they would probably have to wait for Edward Kirsten’s power to rebuild and co to her directly.
Seeing that she didn’t reply, Kevin Clark changed the subject, softly asking, “Little girl, did you eat properly today?”
“Hmm. Young Master Lane sent a al.” The words that Daisy Zane chose weren’t completely intentional, but they weren’t entirely accidental either.
Unsurprisingly, Kevin Clark who had been busy in the lab all day without watching the surveillance fell silent.
Hearing his silence, Daisy Zane laughed to herself.
“William Lane.” After a mont of silence, Kevin Clark gently uttered his na.
A smile played again around the corners of Daisy’s mouth, and she said, “The Lanes’ als are pretty good.”
“Little Girl,” Kevin said, his tone stern and yet softened, “Is it as good as the food at my place?”
“Do you want the truth?”
Kevin took a soft breath: “Never mind, I don’t want to hear the truth.”
But Daisy did not intend to let him off so easily: “Well, your food is better.”
For a mont, Kevin didn’t respond, then after a couple of seconds of silence, he asked, “Little Girl, are you intentionally provoking ?”
Daisy laughed, “Yes.”
“So you are just taking advantage of the fact that I am not there to deal with you, aren’t you? Teasing .”
Listening to his slightly hoarse voice, Daisy was in good spirits. She replied in a gentle tone, “And if you were here, you could stop ?”
“I…” Kevin was speechless.
Daisy chuckled again, “Tell Young Master Lane to stop sending any food tomorrow.”
“Is it not good?” Kevin asked, in a tone that was both obstinate and childish.
Daisy didn’t answer. She was just afraid of gaining weight, “Rember to tell him.”
“Mm.”
After hanging up, Daisy was again urged by Olivia Lane to wash up and apply dication.
Before even twelve o’clock, everyone went to sleep. Daisy, however, hopped out of the restroom once more.
This ti, she deliberately avoided Olivia.
Jas Collins was waiting for her outside the wall. When she got into the car, she first glanced at Jas’s newly dyed dark hair, and then at the hickey on his neck in the second glance.
Jas noticed her gaze, and instinctively reached to touch his neck. Then with those flirtatious peach blossom eyes, he grinned at her.
But as his gaze drifted down to Daisy’s hand, his expression instantly changed, “Sis, what happened to your hand? Who did this?”
“I had a little fall.”
“You fell?” Jas didn’t believe her.
“Yes.” Daisy changed the subject, “Did it delay your escapades?”
Seeing that she didn’t want to talk about it, Jas didn’t pry further: “How is that possible? Sis, I’m quite the honest type.”
“Do you think I believe that?” Daisy glanced at the hickey on his neck.
“This really was an accident.”
“Alright, an accident.” Daisy said nothing more, leaning back in her seat and closing her eyes.
Seeing that she had fallen asleep, Jas drove the car more gently, even the brakes were lighter than usual.
But as he looked at her hand, his expression dimd.
After dropping Daisy off at Imperial Capital University, Jas drove straight to Celestial Pivot to speak with Holt Lawrence.
But after understanding the situation, he found no room to put himself to use.
“Kevin Clark has sent his Second Uncle off to M Continent Prison?” Jas asked, “He is a ruthless man. It might have been kinder to just kill him.”
Holt Lawrence, initially asleep, had been awakened by Jas’s call. Now sitting in bed, with disheveled hair and red eyes, he remarked, “You are just realizing how ruthless he is? That’s why I’m really worried about Nana being with him.”
“No need to worry about my sister. She’s really tough.”
Holt Lawrence glanced at him and said nothing.
Jas had spent much of his ti on M Continent and Mountain Sea Continent.
Celestial Pivot had always been located in the Imperial Capital. Although Kevin had made a notoriously bad na for himself, as a detective agency privy to inside information, they knew so of the truth.
The impression Holt had of Kevin was terrifying, chilling, ruthless, and rciless.
It was best to keep dealings with such a man limited to online, where everyone remained anonymous and transactions could be carried out smoothly.
In real life, it was better not to so much as cast a second glance.
He genuinely doubted Nana would have the upper hand with Kevin.
“Are we just decorations?” Seeing the look in his eyes, the flirtatiousness in Jas’ peach blossom eyes suddenly chilled, “No one can bully my sister.”
