’What do we do now? It seems as if my golden ticket is way too suspicious of us to hear out. What should I do to calm him down?’
I forced myself to stand still instead of fidgeting, knowing any sudden move would spook him more. Confronting people like this was not my speciality.
My palms felt oddly warm, a sign of nerves I tried to hide by folding my hands behind my back.
It might co across as a little vain of , but people usually did not question like this when I offered them an earnest deal. My na and title were usually more than enough to help out.
I exchanged a helpless look with Jason before Jason sighed and decided to take matters into his own hands.
"Mister, my boss already told you she is not a suspicious person. If you still do not believe , here, you can have my business card. We work for Damian Black and represent NYC Entertainnt. And we have a job offer for you."
The scared man had been unwilling to listen to , but when Jason grabbed his shoulder and forced him to listen, the man had no choice but to agree to take a look.
The man flinched at Jason’s touch, but at least he finally stopped trying to back away.
He grabbed the card and looked it up and down before he finally relaxed a little.
"So, you are here to recruit ?"
The young adult asked and I nodded.
"Yes. As I told you already, you have a face that we can use. If you are still interested in trying acting out, please contact NYC Entertainnt. We won’t bother you anymore."
I told the man before I straightened myself and walked away. I felt a handso man’s eyes on all the way until I got into the car and drove away.
I shut the door quickly, heart racing a little from the tension of the encounter.
"Madam, maybe it would be for the best if we don’t tell our boss about what happened here today."
Jason told with a nervous voice. He even avoided looking into my eyes when he gave his advice.
He kept his hands glued to the steering wheel, tapping his thumb anxiously.
But I saw no reason for to hide such good news from Damian. After all, the expansion into the business side of things was sothing that we both were looking forward to.
I leaned back in my seat, already picturing how proud Damian would be.
We reached ho and when I reached the living room, Damian was waiting inside for us to co back. He had his laptop open, but as soon as he saw us enter, he quickly shot Jason a look.
Jason froze mid–step like he had been caught sneaking cookies out of a jar.
"I will take my leave now, boss. I suddenly recall that I...have so work to do. I will give you my report later."
Jason quickly left alone with Damian. I had a feeling that the ’sudden work’ Jason had was an excuse to run away and not face his boss right now.
The sound of his hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway.
’Am I in trouble? Surely not...’
"Is sothing wrong?"
I asked Damian as I noticed his intense look. He blinked a few tis to calm himself down before shaking his head.
His jaw loosened slightly, but the tension didn’t disappear fully.
"I am fine. Nothing is wrong. For now, how about you tell how your day went? Were you able to find what you were looking for?"
Damian asked and I imdiately reported to him about my day.
"It was a successful venture. Not only did I find a lot of talents we can use, but I found a real hidden gem in making. Here, take a look at this...."
I showed Damian the social dia post I had found of the young adult whom we had scouted. Jason had found it for by so reverse image search...I did not want to know when he took an actual image.
The more important piece of information was that I now had a social dia account to show Damian my golden find.
"Look. Isn’t he handso? I have a feeling that he would be able to go very far once he’s trained. What do you think?"
Damian had...a sudden frown on his face as he took a look at my phone.
His fingers tightened around the edge of the device for a mont.
"So, this is the kid you found? He looks...delicate. Are you sure he would be able to take all the pressure of the industry?"
Damian’s concerns were valid and it made my mood go down as well. It was...sothing I had not thought about.
My excitent deflated almost instantly.
"You are right. I got so excited to have a usable talent that I forgot all about his future ntal health and such. Do you think I should reject him if he takes the offer? But surely that won’t be the right thing to do..."
I was rambling now and the more I rambled, the more hesitant I felt about everything.
Damian’s expression beca even more pinched as he saw speaking until he finally sighed and reached out and flicked my forehead.
The light tap snapped out of my spiraling thoughts.
"Jenna, take a deep breath and calm down. You are thinking too much at the mont. I am sure everything will be fine. Why don’t you hand over this case to ? I will make sure your ’golden ticket’ is not torn apart before you can make use of him."
Damian asked and I felt a wave of gratitude toward him.
Warmth spread through my chest at his steady tone.
"You...will do that for ? But aren’t you too busy already? Are you sure that will be fine?"
I asked in an almost hesitant voice, only for Damian to cup my face and make look at him.
His thumbs brushed lightly across my cheeks, grounding .
"Jenna, we are in this together. For now, why don’t you let handle everything. And also, keep your schedule open for tomorrow. I would like to take you...for public appearance’s sake. It has been so ti since we were seen together."
Damian was right and his worry made calm down more.
A spark of curiosity and anticipation fluttered in my stomach.
"You are right. I will be ready tomorrow morning. And I will also leave Vivi in your hand. I am sure he will be much more comfortable with you as well compared to ."
I told Damian and he relaxed.
Now that this issue had resolved itself, I suddenly felt a little excited. Where did Damian want to take tomorrow? And what were we going to do?
My mind was already racing through outfit options and possibilities for the day ahead.
