The three left the restroom. It was obvious they couldn’t return to New E dia, and even Qin Rou’s house was surrounded tightly. Only Jian Dan’s place, because they didn’t know Jian Dan’s address, allowed Li Garden to escape unscathed.
“It seems like nowhere is really safe right now. How about we go to Li Garden?” Jian Dan suggested.
When Li Garden was ntioned, Mu Yi’s expression shifted slightly, but Jian Dan and the others didn’t notice.
“Jian, where you live is too far; how about we just go to my place? It’s nearby!” Mu Yi offered.
“Oh yeah! How did I forget you live nearby? Qin Rou, what do you think?” Jian Dan turned to Qin Rou for her opinion.
“It seems like there’s no better place to go now! Let’s get moving! I’ve already used up a year’s worth of exercise today; I don’t want to run anymore!” Qin Rou looked completely exhausted as she spoke.
The three arrived at Mu Yi’s place, and as soon as they walked in, Qin Rou exclaid in surprise, “Mu Yi, who would’ve thought? You’re usually such a cold person, yet your place is so cozy!”
“Jian helped set it up!” Mu Yi replied casually, but there was a hint of pride in his tone.
“Yes, I did help her set it up. I rember the last ti I was here, the place was practically bare, except for a folding bed to sleep on, a few simple clothes in the wardrobe, and so toiletries on the sink. I had never seen such a bare ho before! I imdiately decided to take her furniture shopping, which is why it looks the way you see now!” Jian Dan said while sitting down in front of the sofa.
“Tell , what exactly happened at the film festival? How did things escalate so quickly?” Mu Yi placed two cups of water in front of them.
After taking a sip of water, Qin Rou spoke, “It’s obvious this ti that soone is orchestrating things behind the scenes, right? From the angle the video was shot to its release, and the speed of the subsequent developnts happened so quickly that our PR didn’t even have ti to react before it spiraled to this point. Clearly, soone is pushing this from behind.”
“I think I already know who that person is.” Jian Dan picked up the water cup on the table, took a sip, and said.
“Who?”
“Mu Yi, can’t you keep so flavored drinks at ho? Last ti too, you only had water?”
Upon Jian Dan’s words, Qin Rou’s eyes nearly fell out of their sockets. How could she still care about what she was drinking at a ti like this?
“I got it, next ti I promise not to serve you plain water.” Mu Yi didn’t show much reaction, but there was a hint of fond indulgence in his voice.
“You said it!”
“Yes!”
“What are the two of you doing right now? At such a chaotic ti, you still have the mind to discuss drinks? Surely this isn’t the ti for this?” Qin Rou was almost going crazy because of the two of them.
“Rourou, don’t worry too much. Since we know who it is, there’s naturally a way to solve the problem.” Jian Dan drank her warm water casually.
“Who is it, really?”
“It’s the other female lead in the video!”
“Are you talking about Liang Jingjing?
Why would she do this? We have no interaction with her. Could it be for this betting agreent?” Even Qin Rou had thought about it being Liang Jingjing but dropped it because she couldn’t figure out her motive.
“I have a grudge with her!”
