“Jian, I think you should stop being stubborn and just admit it!” Qin Rou laughed, clutching her stomach.
Jian Dan rolled her eyes at Qin Rou, “I’m starving here. Are we having dinner or not?”
“Of course we are! I’ve already arranged everything and ordered the signature dishes here. If you want more, just order them.” Hillary said, her eyes fixed on Qin Rou, confused by her sudden laughter.
“Don’t mind Rou, she often has these sudden fits. Let’s just go!” Jian Dan said as she linked arms with Hillary and followed the waiter to their table.
This gesture from Jian Dan spoke volus, leaving Hillary montarily stunned, staring at Jian Dan’s hand on her arm, lost in thought.
While they were happily dining, the little ones at Li Garden were scheming sothing big.
“Finally, it’s vacation ti. I’m planning sothing major!” Jian Xiaokai called the other three to his room secretly in the afternoon.
“What do you an? Sounds like you’re planning a bank heist?” Qian Lele retorted nonchalantly.
“If you keep talking to like that, do you think I’ll still let you join?” Jian Xiaokai shot him a brotherly glare, and Lele instantly backed down.
“Alright, alright! Forget I said anything!”
“Bro, stop keeping us in suspense, just tell us!” Xiaoxin urged, her eyes filled with anticipation.
“Do you guys want to surprise-visit mom on set?”
“A surprise visit? I like this idea, I’m in!” Lele jumped up excitedly and said.
“Hmm!” Kuaikuai, though appearing indifferent, was secretly spinning with joy inside.
“This is great, this is great! I haven’t seen mom in days, and I miss her. But dad’s been so busy lately.”
“Isn’t that even better?” Jian Xiaokai said excitedly.
He still rembered the ti when soone took mom away.
“What do you an?”
“Isn’t it obvious? Think about it. If Chu Liyuan goes with us, he’d take most of mom’s ti and leave very little for us. So we have to go when he’s busy at the end of the year. That way, mom’s ti will be all ours!” Jian Xiaokai’s youthful passion was on full display at this mont.
“Agreed!”
“Agreed!”
Lele and Kuaikuai both raised their hands in agreent.
The three of them then looked at Xiaoxin, who’s usually on dad’s side.
Faced with their slightly threatening gazes, Xiaoxin had no choice but to agree, “Alright, alright! I agree too!”
“Good! That’s settled. We mustn’t delay. Let’s go pack up our stuff, and we’ll leave first thing in the morning.”
As soon as Jian Xiaokai finished talking, the three little ones vanished from his room…
Soon, they had packed their luggage, ready for the next day.
The next day…
To avoid arousing Jin and Uncle Zhang’s suspicion, two of them distracted the adults while the other two quietly moved their luggage out of Li Garden.
Once they were finished, the four little ones, hand in hand, were ready to set off.
“Little Miss, Little Master, where are you heading?”
“Isn’t it vacation ti? It’s really boring staying at ho, so we’re going to spend a few days at Great Grandfather’s place.” Jian Xiaokai said the pre-planned excuse.
“Oh! Then I’ll ask Old Zhang to arrange a car to take you there.”
“No, thanks. We can go by ourselves!”
“But…”
“What’s the ‘but’? Are you doubting our abilities?”
“Of course not, it’s just…”
“If not, then there’s no ‘just’. Alright, we’re off. We’ll call when we get there to let you know we’re safe.” With that said, the four little ones hand in hand headed out.
Jin watched the backs of the four little ones leaving and shook her head helplessly. How did she end up with four such clever kids?
