After cleaning the wound, Qiu Zimo pointed toward so nearby plants, “Pick those!”
“What are these?” Si Chengze asked, holding up the leaves he’d gathered.
“These are Sanqi leaves. They stop bleeding, reduce swelling, and relieve pain! Crush them and apply them to the wound.” She had spotted the plants as they walked earlier.
“Oh! Got it! Big sis, you know so much!” Si Chengze said as he crushed the leaves.
A cryptic smile appeared montarily on Qiu Zimo’s face…
“Big sister, brace yourself!” Si Chengze applied the crushed Sanqi leaves to Qiu Zimo’s shoulder wound.
Though the pain stung slightly, Qiu Zimo didn’t let it show.
When he was done, Si Chengze tore a clean piece of fabric from his undershirt and wrapped Qiu Zimo’s wound anew.
“Let’s go!” Qiu Zimo stood up.
“Where are we going?” Si Chengze asked, unsure of their destination.
“I’ll take you ho!” For the first ti, Qiu Zimo extended her hand toward Si Chengze.
The words “take you ho” brought a renewed sense of safety to Si Chengze.
Looking at Qiu Zimo’s outstretched hand, Si Chengze felt an indescribable warmth in his heart.
From the mont Qiu Zimo took Si Chengze’s hand, neither could guess how their fates would intertwine from then on…
Walking on, they didn’t know how long they traveled until a towering iron wall ca into view, lined with barbed electric wires.
Qiu Zimo held Si Chengze’s hand as she knocked on an iron door embedded in the wall.
The door slowly creaked open…
Outside, a crowd had gathered, their expressions filled with shock. Among them, the silver-haired elder at the front stood remarkably composed.
It was as though he had long expected this scene.
“Go on!” Qiu Zimo said, looking down at the boy beside her.
“Big sister, aren’t you coming with ?” Si Chengze noticed that she didn’t seem to intend to leave.
“I have sothing I must do!” Qiu Zimo tried to let go of Si Chengze’s hand.
