With a sudden brake, the car ca to a slanting stop in front of Li Garden. As soon as the car stopped, Jian Dan hastily unbuckled her seatbelt, jumped out, and ran towards Li Garden.
This sudden action left Chu Liyuan confused. When did Jian Jian beco so anxious?
The first thing Jian Dan did when she entered Li Garden was to check on the kids. After running around, she found the four little ones sleeping safely in their rooms.
"Madam, what’s going on?" Jin asked when she saw Jian Dan in such a panic.
"Jin, what happened?" If sothing happened at ho, Jin would definitely know.
"Happened? What do you an by happened, Madam?"
"I an, has anything urgent happened at ho?"
"Urgent? No, nothing at all." Jin looked puzzled.
"Nothing? How is that possible? Jin, you don’t have to hide it from . I already know."
"Know? Madam, maybe you can just tell directly what happened?"
"Really nothing?" Jian Dan confird again.
"No, nothing!" Jin spread her hands out and said.
Now it was Jian Dan’s turn to be confused. Nothing? What did Uncle say just now? "Uncle, nothing happened? Then what were you talking about?"
Chu Liyuan had seen Jian Dan rushing around since he ca in. At first, he didn’t know what was going on, but now he understood. No wonder Jian Jian was so anxious just now; she misunderstood his aning.
"What I said was..." Chu Liyuan walked slowly to Jian Dan, put an arm around her waist, leaned close to her ear, and whispered a few words. Jian Dan’s eyes widened instantly.
Before she could react, Chu Liyuan hoisted her onto his shoulder again. "Jin, it’s late, you should rest early!" he said to Jin before heading upstairs.
"Yes!" Jian Dan noticed that after Jin said yes, she covered her mouth and laughed secretly.
"Uncle, are you carrying again? Are you addicted to carrying or sothing? Jin is laughing at us."
"Jin is already used to it."
"Ah?"
After closing the door, Chu Liyuan finally put Jian Dan back on the ground. Just as he was about to make another move, Jian Dan seized the chance, broke free from Chu Liyuan’s grasp, dashed into the bathroom, and locked the door from the inside.
Chu Liyuan, looking at the silhouette of Jian Jian on the bathroom door, chuckled, "Let’s see how long you can stay in there?"
Jian Dan leaned against the door, pressing a hand against her chest, trying to calm her breath.
In the blink of an eye, Jian Dan had been dawdling in the bathroom for two hours. She had done everything she could think of, and there was really nothing else left to do.
She couldn’t possibly stay in the bathroom all night long, could she?
It was already very late. Uncle should be asleep by now, right?
Jian Dan gently cracked open the bathroom door and peeked outside. The main light in the bedroom was off, leaving only a bedside lamp on, and there was no sound at all.
"He should be asleep, right?" Jian Dan murmured to herself.
She opened the bathroom door a little wider, just about an arm’s length when suddenly a hand appeared on her wrist, yanking her out of the bathroom, and she fell straight into Chu Liyuan’s arms the next mont.
"Hehe~ Uncle, you’re still awake this late?" Jian Dan smiled awkwardly at Chu Liyuan.
"Jian Jian, I haven’t settled the account for you fooling today. How could I possibly sleep?" Chu Liyuan had a mischievous smile on his face.
Jian Dan quickly averted her gaze to avoid falling for him.
"Didn’t I already apologize to you, Uncle? Don’t be mad, okay?" Jian Dan clasped her hands together.
"If you don’t want to be mad, it’s simple, just put it on." In Chu Liyuan’s hand was the nightgown she tried on at the lingerie store earlier today...
