The four of them were having a nice al together when, out of nowhere, they ran into an absolute troublemaker!

Calling him a troublemaker is being far too kind—he’s so obnoxious that he doesn’t even deserve the title.

This man was none other than Yuanyuan’s forr fiancé, Fu Chao!

Fu Chao had another woman with him, and judging by her appearance, she had to be at least in her forties.

As soon as Fu Chao entered the restaurant, he noticed Yuanyuan, and naturally, Yuanyuan saw him too. However, Yuanyuan had no intention of engaging with him in the slightest, so she ignored him, shifted her gaze away, and continued eating.

But so people just won’t let things be—they insist on stirring up trouble.

After whispering a few words to the woman next to him, Fu Chao directed her gaze to Yuanyuan. The woman smiled faintly, curled her lips, and slowly walked toward them.

"What a coincidence! Fancy running into you here!" Fu Chao greeted as they approached.

"Who are you again?" Jian Dan was clearly unable to recall who he was.

Xia ngjiao gently tugged Jian Dan’s sleeve and leaned close to her ear to remind her.

"Oh~ it’s you! Sorry, your face is so plain that I couldn’t rember you!" Jian Dan responded with a smile.

Fu Chao’s face darkened montarily at Jian Dan’s words, but he quickly brushed it off. "So, you’re eating here too! This restaurant was opened by my darling. Since we’re all acquaintances, I can ask her to give you a discount!" Fu Chao deliberately played up how great his life had beco since he left Yuanyuan.

Normally, people would say sothing like "No need, we don’t want anything from you." But Jian Dan refused to follow conventional norms.

"Oh really? If your darling owns the restaurant, all you’re offering is a discount? Shouldn’t it be completely free?" Jian Dan looked at them with a smile.

Xia ngjiao and Qin Rou couldn’t help sneaking giggles from the sidelines.

Fu Chao was left at a loss for words by Jian Dan’s comnt.

The woman next to him cut in with a smile, "You’re absolutely right—this one’s on the house!"

Only after the woman declared it did Fu Chao’s expression improve sowhat.

"Really? Then we must truly thank you. Since it’s your treat, we won’t hold back! Waiter!" Jian Dan raised her hand to call the waiter.

"What can I help you with?"

"Please bring us one of each of the most expensive dishes at your restaurant. Thank you."

Fu Chao furrowed his brows. "You’re doing this on purpose!"

"What? Are you feeling stingy now? I thought you were so rich! Turns out you’re not all that, huh? Just a few dishes and you’re already like this? Honestly, it’s quite disappointing.

No worries though—if you think they’re too pricey, we can pay our own bill!"

The woman shot Fu Chao a fierce glance before smiling and speaking up, "Of course not! Order whatever you like. No matter how much you eat, I’ll cover it!"

"Much appreciated!"

After Fu Chao and the woman left, Xia ngjiao and Qin Rou couldn’t contain themselves and burst into laughter. "Jian, you’re the best, truly—your words are lethal!"

"Absolutely, absolutely. If I were that woman, I’d have exploded by now."

"Jian, thank you," Yuanyuan said.

"Oh, co on, what’s there to thank for? I was just bored—soone showed up out of nowhere to entertain , so of course, I’d make the most of it."

anwhile, back in the private room, the woman’s face quickly soured. She dropped herself onto a chair and glared at Fu Chao. "You embarrassed out there, you know that?"

"It’s all my fault, all my fault!"

"You know I absolutely hate losing. You should be well aware of that. You know what needs to be done next, right?"

"I understand!"

"Good."

Just as she finished talking, the dishes Jian Dan had ordered started arriving at the table...
