Chapter 6: Humans Are an Interesting Species
Very soon, under the orders of the elder, a eting exclusively for high-ranking officials was swiftly convened.
In the room with limited seating, each occupant held significant power in Sumr Country. Jiang Yi was also present in the eting room, observing in an intangible form.
“It’s my turn to make a move,” Jiang Yi observed the many high officials in the room, watching them refute the elder’s words.
Clearly, without the infusion of mories, it was difficult for them to accept the reality of an impending apocalypse. Even the elder himself began to waver in his belief.
Was it really just a dream? He thought.
Just as the elder was about to abandon his idea, Jiang Yi finally acted, appearing in the eting room in an indescribable form.
At a glance, it was impossible to describe his appearance. He seed to be just a void. But his strong presence reminded everyone there was sothing there, though invisible to mortals.
Shocked and frightened, the officials instinctively wanted to scream for security, but an eerie power silenced all their voices.
“Don’t worry, I an you no harm,” said Jiang Yi calmly, his gaze falling on an elderly man in military attire.
With a slight gesture, he captured the handgun tightly gripped in the man’s hand. The gun, suspended in mid-air, was twisted into a lump of scrap tal by a mysterious force.
This scene, undoubtedly chilling to those who had grown up believing in materialism, confird they were witnessing the supernatural.
“Who are you… and what do you want?” the elder asked, regaining his composure, addressing Jiang Yi with a term of respect.
“?” Jiang Yi paused, his indifferent eyes surveying everyone present. “I’m just a humble observer. I’ve co to warn you.”
A warning? What could be so important that it warranted a visit from this enigmatic entity?
The elder seed to realize sothing, his eyes widening in anticipation, as if waiting for confirmation of his suspicions.
“Blue Star is about to be struck by a teorite, leading to the extinction of mankind.”
Indeed! In the elder’s eyes, the twisted and vague figure suddenly donned an air of mystery, as if omniscient and omnipotent.
“Under normal developnt, human civilization will be almost entirely wiped out in this teorite strike. Blue Star will turn into a paradise for flora and fauna,” continued Jiang Yi aningfully. “Humans are an interesting species. I don’t want to see their extinction yet.”
Hearing Jiang Yi’s words, the eting room fell into a brief silence. Those who had previously doubted the elder’s words now realized this might not just be a nightmare but a reality that would truly happen.
“Observer… Your Highness,” the elder spoke cautiously, “Is there a way to prevent this crisis?”
Now thoroughly convinced of the dream’s reality, the elder even contemplated asking this unknown being for help.
Jiang Yi looked at the elder calmly. With his appearance obscured by the system, the elder couldn’t see his eyes, only feeling a sense of being thoroughly scrutinized and understood.
“I’ve said I’m just an observer and will not interfere with the main course of events,” Jiang Yi said as he walked to the center of the room, taking out a small, wrapped piece of teorite.
His aningful gaze swept over the high-ranking officials of Sumr Country. “But humans are an interesting race, so I can offer you a little help.”
“This is a fragnt of the teorite, carrying with it an evolutionary virus. I hope you make good use of it. And pay attention to a young man nad Huang.”
A virus?! Looking at the teorite fragnt sealed in special containnt, everyone shivered at the thought of its potential accidental release, which could instantly doom the capital of Sumr Country.
The elders, who had lived through wars and hardships, were terrified by this unknown and terrifying virus.
It wasn’t long before the elder shook off his shock, intending to ask more questions. However, he realized that the figure, which had been there a mont ago, had completely dissipated, leaving only emptiness.
“That His Highness… truly isn’t an ordinary existence,” the elder mused and took a deep breath, feeling imnse gratitude towards Jiang Yi.
Regardless of whether it was a person, a god, or so high-dinsional cosmic entity, there was no denying that Jiang Yi had provided significant help to Sumr Country, allowing them to study the teorite virus and better prepare for the crisis.
“Notify everyone imdiately, stop all large-scale construction and export projects in the country. Redirect all manpower and resources to building underground bunkers”
“Also, call on the best scientists, both dostic and abroad, to analyze and research the teorite virus.
“And most importantly, find the young man nad Huang as soon as possible!”
Looking at the sealed teorite fragnt, the elder issued order after order with a calm tone. To ensure the ssage’s security, he didn’t explain the reasons.
Many officials were shocked, and society was in turmoil, unable to understand the actions of Sumr Country’s higher-ups.
But regardless of who asked, the few at the top echelons of power in Sumr Country uniformly stated it was for the country’s future.
In the high sky of the simulated world, Jiang Yi oversaw everything. Under his gaze, Sumr Country, known as the “Infrastructure Maniac,” built one underground bunker after another.
With these bunkers, once the teorite falls and doomsday arrives, Sumr Country’s survival rate could increase by tens or even hundreds of tis!
