84: Chapter 84: I Have a Great Thing for You!

Not long after.

Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin arrived at the adjacent ditation room.

It seed to be the communal dining area for the monks at the temple.

As soon as they entered, Xiao Fei noticed a row of old-fashioned stoves he hadn’t seen in years.

In the spacious ditation room, so monks were busily working behind the stoves.

The room was filled with tables and stools, and many pilgrims were sitting on the benches, slurping bowls of fernted rice soup.

“Over here!”

Xiao Fei heard Xiao Jun’s voice.

He looked up and spotted a wooden table, where Xiao Jun, Tang Dingyuan, and Mrs.

Tang were sitting, each enjoying their als.

Holding Tang Yuxin’s hand, Xiao Fei walked over.

“Dad, Mom, Yuxin and I bought each of us a Longevity Lamp.”

“Oh, why spend that kind of money!”

Mrs.

Tang distressed over the expense, but Xiao Jun waved it off.

“The kids ant well, and besides, they’re not short on money now.

Let them do as they like.”

Mrs.

Tang wanted to say more but decided to drop it in the end.

“Xiao Fei, Yuxin, want so?”

Tang Dingyuan pointed to the fernted rice soup in front of him.

Tang Yuxin shook her head.

“No thanks, Xiao Fei’s cooking has spoiled , hehe.”

“Ha!”

Tang Dingyuan snorted, “And you’re not even embarrassed to say it?

Every day you let Xiao Fei cook while you just enjoy eating?”

“It’s fine, Dad.”

Xiao Fei said with a smile.

“I’ll cook for her for the rest of my life.”

“Hehehe…”

Tang Yuxin giggled foolishly.

Her normally cool deanor softened by this childlike smile made her irresistibly endearing, creating a stark contrast.

Xiao Fei couldn’t help but reach out and ruffle her hair.

“Hey, stop it, hubby!

You’re going to ss up my hair.”

Tang Yuxin pouted and adjusted her soft hat, giving Xiao Fei a playful glare.

The subtle yet affectionate exchange between the two made all the parents’ hearts swell with joy.

After the three elders finished their fernted rice soup, this ti Xiao Fei drove, with Tang Yuxin in the passenger seat and the three older adults in the back.

The five of them headed ho together.

Along the way, they occasionally spotted fireworks rising into the night sky from distant towns.

Sotis, faint sounds of firecrackers could be heard.

“Back when I was a kid, setting off firecrackers for New Year’s felt like a battlefield, even in busy city areas.

Now, you barely hear anything like that anymore.”

Xiao Fei suddenly remarked.

Tang Yuxin leaned on her hand, gazing out the window.

Hearing this, she said, “Well, firefighters and sanitation workers work really hard.”

“True enough,” he replied.

In the past, nearly every New Year’s Eve, firefighters had to stay up all night because fires could break out at any mont.

Over ti, incidents like that beca so frequent that citywide bans on fireworks and firecrackers were introduced.

“Dad, Mom, why don’t you both stay over at our place tonight?”

Xiao Fei suddenly suggested.

Tang Dingyuan and Mrs.

Tang, reluctant to part with their daughter, thought for a mont and then nodded in agreent.

Soon enough, the group of five arrived ho.

Hearing the door open, Wang Fang, who hadn’t yet gone to bed, popped out of the master bedroom.

Seeing everyone return, Wang Fang’s face lit up with a big smile as she ca running over.

“You’re all back?”

“Yes, Mom, I bought Longevity Lamps for everyone.”

“Longevity Lamps?

Isn’t that sothing used for bur—mrfmfmfmfm!”

Before Wang Fang could finish her sentence, Xiao Jun covered her mouth.

“What nonsense are you talking about during New Year’s?

It’s Longevity Lamps, not those funeral lamps… hey, ow!

Stop biting!”

Snap!

Wang Fang grabbed Xiao Jun’s hand and bit down on it.

Xiao Jun was utterly flustered.

Despite their age, the couple had always lived harmoniously.

Wang Fang, in particular, retained a childlike personality, which filled Xiao Jun’s days with joy.

But their playful behavior, while acceptable in private, was sothing else entirely in the presence of in-laws and their children.

Still, Xiao Jun didn’t say much more.

Just as Xiao Fei deeply loved Tang Yuxin, Xiao Jun loved Wang Fang to his very core.

Even with his hand bitten in public, Xiao Jun could only let her have her fun.

“Let go!

Look at yourself!”

“Hmph!”

Wang Fang released his hand and stomped over to the sofa, sitting down with a pout.

Though they were already familiar with Wang Fang’s personality, Tang Dingyuan and Mrs.

Tang couldn’t help but remain astonished at the display.

“In-law…”

Tang Dingyuan smacked his lips a couple of tis before shooting Xiao Jun a peculiar look.

“I can’t decide whether I should envy you or laugh at you.”

“Go ahead, laugh!”

Though he said so, Xiao Jun’s eyes occasionally darted toward Wang Fang, filled with affection.

Mrs.

Tang couldn’t help but feel sentintal.

“No wonder Xiao Fei dotes on Yuxin so much.

Looks like it runs in the family.”

She glanced aningfully at Tang Yuxin with a smirk.

Tang Yuxin blushed furiously.

She grabbed Xiao Fei’s hand and bolted toward the bedroom.

“We’re heading to bed!”

Once inside and with the door closed, Tang Yuxin tiptoed over to the crib.

The three little angels were sleeping peacefully.

Da Bao was sucking on a thumb, but amusingly, it was Er Bao’s.

Er Bao’s little foot was draped over Da Bao, while Sanbao slept calmly, occasionally smacking his lips.

Tang Yuxin chuckled and pulled out her phone to snap a picture.

Xiao Fei, anwhile, turned on the electric blanket and checked the room’s air conditioning temperature.

Finding it just right, he began undressing to take a shower.

Monts later, the sound of running water ca from the bathroom.

Tang Yuxin’s eyes sparkled mischievously, and she quietly slipped in after him.

Half an hour later.

The couple lay side by side on the bed.

Tang Yuxin nestled into Xiao Fei’s arms, lazily curled up like a cat.

“By the way, I’ve got sothing good for you.”

Xiao Fei suddenly rembered the system’s New Year reward.

The Beauty and Youth Pill, as the na suggested, had self-explanatory effects.

But the Peace Talisman was particularly intriguing.

It could be hung anywhere in the house and would ensure lifelong health and peace for the family.

Three Peace Talismans.

One each for Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin, and one for each set of parents.

Xiao Fei retrieved the small box from his coat pocket, opened it, and saw that the Beauty and Youth Pill looked like a sugar-coated bean, pure and milky white.

As soon as the box was opened, a refreshing fragrance filled the entire bedroom.

“Hubby!

It slls amazing!

What is it?”

Tang Yuxin sniffed the air and suddenly sat up, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Xiao Fei.

Xiao Fei handed her the Beauty and Youth Pill.

From the system’s description, its effects, while not as extensive as the Cleansing Marrow Pill, provided a similar benefit, minus the complete bodily transformation.

It would at least ensure Tang Yuxin’s eternal youth.

And, unlike the Cleansing Marrow Pill, it wouldn’t cause the excruciating pain that ca with complete body restructuring.

Which was fortunate… as Xiao Fei couldn’t bear the thought of Tang Yuxin enduring that kind of agony.
