Chapter 1121: Chapter 1123: I Will Be Careful
The housekeeper, after purchasing so items by the roadside, followed Old Master Yu Wen to the Gambling Stone Field.
This was Old Master Yu Wen’s first visit to the Gambling Stone Field. In his impression, places similar to casinos were always full of smoke and chaos. However, upon arriving at the Gambling Stone Field, he didn’t witness any of that so-called chaos; instead, he found the air slightly refreshing, bringing a transparent and delightful feeling all over.
Old Master Yu Wen nodded approvingly, "This Chu Ge, it seems, not only has achievents in dicine but also convinces people in business."
Lin Dong was sitting at the front desk, organizing sothing with his head down, when Lin Zhao suddenly ran over and patted Lin Dong’s arm, saying, "Lin Dong, look quickly, who’s here."
Lin Dong raised his eyes in confusion and saw Old Master Yu Wen standing at the stairway entrance. He frowned slightly and asked, "Why is he here?"
"Who knows."
Lin Zhao shook his head, "Should we go up and say hello?"
"Is he here to see Mr. Chu?"
Lin Dong asked.
The two exchanged words but neither went forward to greet Old Master Yu Wen proactively.
After all, they lived at the grassroots level and had never directly dealt with soone like Old Master Yu Wen, so they were sowhat nervous.
Gu Tong, seeing the two push and shove here, walked over curiously and asked, "What are you two doing here, looking like thieves."
"Bah! You’re the thief! Didn’t you see that person over there?"
Lin Dong pointed not far away at Old Master Yu Wen and said, "That person is Old Master Yu Wen. Why do you think he would suddenly co to our Gambling Stone Field?"
Gu Tong snorted lightly, rolling his eyes at Lin Dong, "You ask , whom should I ask?"
Lin Dong looked at him speechlessly and suddenly saw Old Master Yu Wen walking toward them.
He got nervous, pinching Lin Zhao hard, who cried out in pain and hurriedly jumped aside, almost bumping into Old Master Yu Wen.
Lin Zhao smiled apologetically, "You... Hello."
Old Master Yu Wen smiled slightly at him and asked, "Is Chu Ge here?"
Lin Zhao shook his head, then imdiately nodded.
Old Master Yu Wen laughed gently and said, "Don’t be nervous. I’m not a Tiger; I can’t eat anyone."
Lin Zhao chuckled awkwardly and scratched his head, saying, "Mr. Chu is in the lounge upstairs."
After the bar opened, Long Ang was transferred there as the manager, while Lin Dong and the others were left to manage the Gambling Stone Field, with Chu Ge continuing as the absentee shopkeeper.
At this mont, he was sitting in the lounge, with his legs crossed on the table, lounging on the chair back, deep in thought.
He had pledged to the Bearded Man to treat their Great Elder soon, but the dangers in Capital City were yet unresolved, and Zhang Ze and the others hadn’t taken any actions till now.
Even the Deadpools summoned by Lian Chengyu during his attack on Chu Ge were still a mystery.
He wondered if the Yuwen Family indeed collaborated with Lian Chengyu.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door. He looked up to see Old Master Yu Wen standing at the entrance, with the housekeeper carrying gifts behind him.
"Mr. Chu, am I disturbing you?"
Old Master Yu Wen approached, smiling warmly, and sat opposite Chu Ge.
Chu Ge straightened up, smiled slightly, and said, "Not at all. You’re here at the right ti, Old Master Yu Wen. I happen to have sothing to inquire about."
Old Master Yu Wen looked at him surprised and asked, "Oh? What is it?"
"I know your family possesses an ancestral Yin Summoning Talisman, which can command thousands of Deadpools. And the power of Deadpools, a hundred of them, is equivalent to the combat power of an army..."
Old Master Yu Wen’s face darkened slightly, but since Chu Ge was his benefactor, he didn’t show it much.
"I don’t know why Mr. Chu is asking about this, is there sothing you want?"
"It’s not really about wanting it, I’m just curious if you perhaps cooperated with Lian Chengyu to give him the Yin Summoning Talisman."
Old Master Yu Wen was taken aback, then laughed and waved his hand, "There’s no such thing, nor will there ever be. I wouldn’t cooperate with soone like Lian Chengyu. Besides, as you just said, the Yin Summoning Talisman can command a thousand armies, here in Capital City, I could never easily bring it out for trading."
There was no need for Old Master Yu Wen to lie. Chu Ge frowned slightly; if it wasn’t Old Master Yu Wen who made an agreent with Lian Chengyu, then where did Lian Chengyu get his Deadpools?
Old Master Yu Wen looked at him curiously and asked, "What’s wrong? Is there sothing wrong?"
Chu Ge nodded, "To tell you the truth, a few days ago, Lian Chengyu assaulted my villa with so Deadpools, which made
wonder if the Yuwen Family had reached a consensus with Lian Chengyu to give him the Yin Summoning Talisman."
Old Master Yu Wen understood and gently shook his head, "Lian Chengyu’s ambition is too great. If the Yin Summoning Talisman were in his hands, it would inevitably stir up quite a storm."
"Weren’t you cooperating previously?"
Chu Ge raised his curiosity and doubt.
Old Master Yu Wen responded, nodding, "Yes, we cooperated, but precisely because of too close encounters, we understood his character. If soone like him possessed the Yin Summoning Talisman, it would certainly lead to war."
Chu Ge pondered for a mont; if it wasn’t Old Master Yu Wen reaching an agreent with Lian Chengyu, then the Deadpools he spoke of must have been trained through so other ans, what ans, he couldn’t ascertain.
"Is there sothing you need, Old Master Yu Wen suddenly visiting?"
Chu Ge cleared his thoughts; pondering these issues wouldn’t yield anything now. But since Lian Chengyu was heavily injured, he wouldn’t be making trouble anyti soon.
Old Master Yu Wen chuckled, his weathered face showing faint kindness, "I’m here to thank Mr. Chu for saving my life."
He then gestured to the housekeeper to bring the gifts forward, "You not only saved
but also my housekeeper. Such imnse grace and virtue, Yuwen Cangyan will never forget. I know my grandson Kang Li and Mr. Chu had so conflicts before, but you bore no grudge and helped us, your magnanimity truly impresses ."
Chu Ge slightly curved his lips; he still didn’t know about the internal changes in the Yuwen Family, only saying, "Saving a life exceeds building a seven-level pagoda. The reason I saved you was rely fulfilling my duty."
"By the way."
As if rembering sothing, Chu Ge continued, "The poison you suffered is quite peculiar; it appears soone intends to take your life directly. You ought to be cautious during this ti."
At this point, a trace of sorrow clouded Old Master Yu Wen’s face, but he quickly resud his composure, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Chu, I will be mindful."
