Capítulo 1066: Chapter 1068: I’ll Tell You Everything
Chu Ge sat at the front desk, boredly swiping his phone, when he suddenly sensed sothing strange and quickly looked towards the entrance.
Lin Dong, standing nearby, looked at Chu Ge in surprise, startled by his sudden movent.
“Mr. Chu, what’s wrong?”
Lin Dong asked.
“Soone has intruded onto the third floor.”
Chu Ge said, striding towards the third floor, and Lin Dong quickly followed upon hearing this.
As he walked, Lin Dong continued to ask, “Who could possibly have the skills to enter this barrier?”
Chu Ge shook his head, “We’ll know once we go up and see.”
At this mont, Ah Peng was unaware that he had fallen into an illusion; he rely saw the scene before him change suddenly, finding himself surrounded by the blazing Fla Mountain.
Ah Peng kept wiping his sweat, muttering to himself, “Damn, where the hell is this place?”
From the outside, this Gambling Stone Field didn’t look special, but inside, it was an entirely different world!
Ah Peng decided to retreat, but he couldn’t find the exit at all. Left with no choice, he followed his instincts forward.
Flas were everywhere underfoot, and with the slightest carelessness, he would get burned, so Ah Peng treaded carefully.
Nonetheless, his pant leg was still caught by the fire. Frantically, he patted it with his hand, and after extinguishing the flas, a large blister ford on his leg.
Inwardly, Ah Peng was filled with grievance; this life-threatening ordeal was worse than a quick death!
He continued forward, unsure of how long he’d walked before the scenery changed again.
He arrived in a frozen land of icy snow, the previous heat now replaced by coolness. He rolled joyously in the snow, balancing out the heat within his body.
But soon, Ah Peng felt cold, and once that chill was sensed, it overwheld him.
Ah Peng rubbed his arms and kept moving forward; he couldn’t stay any longer, or he might freeze to death.
Having experienced the volcanic heat and now the icy snow, the alternating extres made him feel dizzy.
He rubbed his forehead, feeling weak all over.
“Damn, am I catching a cold from the freezing?”
Ah Peng said.
But there was no one around to respond.
Unclear how long he walked, alternating between heat and cold, eventually, he couldn’t hold on anymore.
Panic welled up inside; would he die here?
Ah Peng thought of seeking help; he took out his phone to call for assistance, only to find that there was no signal at all.
Even the back cover of the phone seed to be dissolving.
Terrified, Ah Peng—this grown man—sat in the snow, bawling.
“Am I really going to die here?”
He felt his consciousness gradually fading, becoming very faint.
Suddenly, when he was nearly unable to hang on, he vaguely saw a figure heading his way.
At that ti, Ah Peng opened his lips, wanting to call for help, but he fainted directly.
In the first-floor lobby, Lin Dong stood with arms crossed, looking at Ah Peng lying on the ground, itching to kick him.
“This guy ca so eagerly for the interview, he must have ulterior motives.”
After Lin Dong spoke, he made a move to kick him, but Chu Ge stopped him just in ti.
“One kick, and he’ll be dead.”
“He deserves to die!”
Lin Dong said angrily.
“I have sothing to ask him. Don’t act impulsively just yet.”
Chu Ge knelt beside Ah Peng, then raised his hand to infuse a trace of True Qi into his body, and suddenly, Chu Ge noticed the abnormality within Ah Peng.
Inside him, a toxic air was eroding Ah Peng’s body. Chu Ge hadn’t seen such poison before, but his heart filled with curiosity, wondering who from the world of martial arts would harm a common person?
Soon, Ah Peng woke up.
He slowly opened his eyes, seeing people all around, and paused, his mind still blank, unable to think until he saw Chu Ge, causing his heart to suddenly tense.
He wanted to get up, but his body seed immobilized.
“Mr. Chu, let
explain.”
Ah Peng, feeling guilty, looked at Chu Ge, “I was just wandering around, I didn’t really an to intrude!”
Chu Ge sneered, raising his hand to reveal a black Jade Pendant before Ah Peng, “Who gave you this Jade Pendant?”
Seeing the pendant, Ah Peng’s eyes flickered, “This… it’s mine.”
Chu Ge chuckled, “This isn’t an ordinary Jade Pendant; an ordinary person can’t control it. If it stays with a normal person for more than seventy-two hours, it will begin to consu their Essence Blood. You say it’s yours?”
If it were yours, you wouldn’t be lying here but in a coffin.
Chu Ge’s words left Ah Peng utterly shocked; he looked fearfully at the pendant, realizing its dangerous nature.
Lucky for him, he didn’t hold onto it for long, or he’d be dead.
“So are you still unwilling to tell the truth?”
Chu Ge asked again.
Ah Peng swallowed hard; it wasn’t that he didn’t want to be honest, but he couldn’t.
Chu Ge gave him a cold glance, “There’s a poison in you. Tell
who gave you this Jade Pendant, and I’ll help you detoxify.”
Ah Peng looked at Chu Ge skeptically, “You’ll help
detoxify?”
It seed he was aware of his poisoning.
Chu Ge thought.
He nodded, “This poison isn’t difficult for
to handle, but I won’t help soone who recklessly intrudes into my forbidden land.”
Ah Peng frowned, feeling troubled, doubting Chu Ge’s willingness to help him detoxify. If he revealed Lian Chengyu and Gao Weijie, the latter wouldn’t give him the antidote.
But if Chu Ge’s promise of detoxification was true, he could rid himself of Gao Weijie!
Ah Peng was torn by hesitation and struggle.
Lin Dong finally couldn’t stand it; he stepped forward again, intending to kick him, but was stopped by Chu Ge.
“Ah Peng, I’m warning you; if you don’t say who gave you this Jade Pendant, I’ll break your leg!”
“Today a leg, tomorrow an arm, leaving you unable to care for yourself! By then, you’ll find death preferable!”
Ah Peng shivered; no! He didn’t want to lose an arm or a leg!
Since both options were uncertain, he decided to take a gamble!
“Mr. Chu, I’ll tell! I’ll tell everything!”
