Chapter 632: 618
“You better stop running your mouth, I won’t fall for your tricks!” Ling Rong’s hair practically exploded, looking like an enraged red hedgehog.
Brat, if it weren’t for your grandfather, I’d have dealt with you a long ti ago. Ye Tian thought viciously, although his expression remained ek.
“What are you talking about, I was just complinting you…”
The flas intensified; Ye Tian could almost sll his hair burning.
“Miss Ling Rong, please, in light of saving your grandfather that night, spare !” Ye Tian groveled as if he had a tail that he’d be wagging right now.
Ling Rong didn’t really want to hurt Ye Tian; she just found his drooling over girls revolting and wanted to punish him a little.
Putting out the flas in her hand, Ye Tian felt the room cool down significantly.
“What? It’s been several days and only now you co to thank your lifesaver?”
“Ptui!” Ling Rong’s gaze soured, and she looked exhausted, having not rested well recently, “I’m here to inquire about the Red Fla Pearl!”
That day, Ye Tian’s final strike had shattered the Barrier entirely, which really startled Ling Rong, but she began suspecting even more strongly that he carried the aura of the Heaven Mystic Sect. During the past few days, she took the ti to discuss this thoroughly with her ntor.
“What pearl? I told you, I didn’t see anything! You know well that Liu Zhiming blew himself up; maybe that whatever pearl you are talking about got destroyed in the explosion too!”
Ye Tian was clear: regardless of whether the pearl Liu Zhiming had that day was the Red Fla Pearl or not, he would pretend ignorance. After all, a previously non-essential pearl had now beco a real one and was inside his body.
“Nonsense! My master said it’s impossible. So tell , if you didn’t take the Red Fla Pearl, why is there the aura of the Heaven Mystic Sect on you?” As Ling Rong spoke, her hair moved slowly like dancing flas.
Ye Tian was on full alert, unsure if he could beat this fiery girl, but knowing her temper, she might strike at any mont.
“Heaven Mystic Sect? I don’t know what that is; how would I know about your aura?” Ye Tian adamantly denied, feigning ignorance.
Ling Rong was furious, but she couldn’t easily make a move against Ye Tian. She vividly rembered the slash he dealt that day. She couldn’t believe she could withstand such a forceful slash using all her Gang Qi, and yet, to see her sect’s Holy Object right before her eyes and still not be able to take it infuriated her further!
Ye Tian observed Ling Rong’s changing expressions, from troubled to angry, and knew that she wasn’t going to make a move anyti soon. Since his life wasn’t in danger, he felt sowhat relieved. After all, he had already lost a significant part; Xiaoqing wasn’t by his side anymore, who would complain about living a longer life?
Seeing various expressions cross Ling Rong’s face, Ye Tian beca even more certain this girl wouldn’t strike him. But dodging the initial trouble doesn’t an you can rest easy later; that’s a problem.
“Damn Zhang Liang! Fatty Xu! You both hide like turtles in their shells; co save now! Damn it, I’ve been screwed over by you guys so many tis! Man, you can’t trust n!”
Ye Tian kept convincing himself, well, might as well enjoy looking at the pretty girl!
Then, Ye Tian saw an elderly man in the small garden of the hospital. Of course, seeing an elderly man here was normal, but this man was wearing the uniform of Huaxia’s first batch of military, reminding Ye Tian of the chilling pile of bones on the snowy mountain.
With a swift movent, Ye Tian jumped out of the window. Fortunately, it was only from the third floor, and since there were no people around, his action didn’t scream attention.
The elderly man seed to have difficulty moving and was sitting in a wheelchair, wandering aimlessly.
“Old sir.” Ye Tian greeted with a silly smile on his face.
“Young man, sothing you need?”
The elderly man’s face was lined with wrinkles, maybe enough to trap a fly or two. But isn’t it such elders that truly embody the profound history?
“No trouble, just saw you strolling here by yourself, and I just wanted to chat.” Ye Tian continued smiling, showing the kind of respect a grandson has for his grandfather.
“What would you like to talk about? Perhaps you’d like to hear a story?” A trace of joy flickered across the calm face of the elderly man.
That flash of joy made Ye Tian’s heart ache even more. These elders had dedicated their lives to Huaxia, and in their old age, their nas not known by others, even their stories might have bored everyone by now.
“Yes. Seeing your military uniform, you must have fought vigorously for the foundation of our nation. I’d like to hear if there were any strange happenings.”
“Strange?” The elderly man looked at Ye Tian, “What counts as strange? People like us, though we fought for our country, each of us has hands stained with the blood of others. People talk about the War God, but isn’t it just ‘a general succeeds and countless bodies lie wasted’.”
