“With all that commotion, there’s even less chance now. They took off before the whole city was locked down.”
“Not coming back?”
“Co back, my ass! It’s already good enough that they aren’t being asked to pay compensation. Gandalf’s reputation has been completely trashed by them; they’re likely to disband once they return.”
As they finished talking, the news conference on TV also ended. Jenny exchanged a few words with the manager and then hurriedly left, turning her head at the doorway to look at Ye Tian. Her lips moved, but she didn’t speak. Chu Tianying pulled Ye Tian along and went over.
“Miss Jenny, things are quite chaotic right now. If you don’t mind, we can go back together.”
Jenny looked at Ye Tian, seemingly waiting for his response.
Helplessly, Ye Tian replied, “Let’s go together. We have a saying in Huaxia—finish what you start. Alright, let’s go together.”

Seemingly picking up on Ye Tian’s thoughts, Jenny winked, “Don’t worry about , he’ll be fine.”

The two escorted Jenny through the crowd. Taxis had stopped running, so they couldn’t hail a cab. They took shortcuts, turning left and right until they finally reached a manor. The white villa-style house was backed by the snowy Himalayas, under a sky of blue and white clouds—an only-in-fairy-tales scene.
A barely noticeable smile appeared at the corner of Chu Tianying’s mouth, and Ye Tian caught it from the corner of his eye but didn’t make anything of it.
“This is my ho. When my father returns, I’ll make sure he thanks you both. My two Huaxia friends,” Jenny said with a radiant smile, looking every bit the angelic figure from a snowy land, her golden hair a reminder that she was still a normal girl.
It was clear her mood wasn’t much affected by today’s events.
Ye Tian said, “Now that you’re safe, we’d better not impose any further. Goodbye.”
“Hey, I was hoping you’d co in for a bit.”
Jenny pouted, looking very cute.
“Forget it, another ti.”
The two turned and went back the way they had co, leaving behind the blonde, blue-eyed girl.

The previous inn had been abandoned, so Ye Tian found a simple small inn to stay in. The passport and identity card were prepared by Chu Tianying in advance. That guy, he’s been wanting to bring him over to his side for a while.
The crowd on the streets had dispersed, leaving only littered newspapers and so plastic bottles—a ss. Scavengers sward in from the suburbs, which, while damaging the city’s appearance, eased the burden on sanitation workers and quickly cleaned things up, with most people turning a blind eye. The incident had made a lot of noise but was actually small scale, seemingly controlled as if by soone, happening quickly and ending quickly.
At the entrance of the inn, Nepal’s iconic blue ribbons fluttered, supposedly in mory of a great person, but Ye Tian wasn’t good with history and didn’t know much about it.
Chu Tianying opened the window. Their room faced the street, allowing them to see the scene outside.
“You guys seem to have a real connection.”
Hearing Ye Tian recount his encounter with Jenny, Chu Tianying turned and said this, only to see Ye Tian lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling in a daze. Chu Tianying walked over, pulling up a chair to face Ye Tian.

“Bullshit love.”
Ye Tian turned over, laying on his side, an arm under his head.
“There’s definitely sothing on your mind. Tell , and I’ll help you solve it.”

Chu Tianying shook his head, “Are you thinking too much?”

Staring blankly at the ceiling, Ye Tian seed to be talking to himself.

Chu Tianying straightened up and walked over to the window, picking up a cup of water from the table to sip, not expecting Ye Tian to suddenly smack his head, almost causing him to spit out the water still in his throat.
Ye Tian also picked up a cup of water, anwhile giving him a glare, “What are you plotting? Don’t think I don’t know. Gandalf’s gone, and you’re thinking of taking on the job yourself, right? And trying to start with Jenny? Forget it. Once this is over, we’ll leave. Oh, and by the way, do you have any contacts in Africa? I need to find soone.”
“Africa? I’ve been there. But the places I’ve been to, you’ve been too. Didn’t we carry out a mission together? Rember you almost ssed up with that local ‘black pearl’, nearly breaking her chastity and ending up as a hostage groom.”
As he said this, Chu Tianying was snickering, earning a kick from Ye Tian, which he deftly dodged.

“Nonsense truth!”
The two bantered back and forth, reminiscing about their past comrades. Thinking of those old comrades made Ye Tian impulsively want to share what he had seen in a glacier cave, but he ultimately held back.

Ye Tian had never been to Nepal before. Chu Tianying didn’t ntion leaving, just pulled Ye Tian around for sightseeing ostensibly to relax, but was actually surveying the terrain.
Ye Tian knew the places Chu Tianying took him—areas with tall buildings and narrow alleys—were perfect for covert operations. Even without saying, Ye Tian could guess the truth. Chu Tianying was good, but too paranoid otherwise he would have been promoted to deputy leader and moved into managent. A Lieutenant’s title, that’s sothing he’s been wanting but hasn’t gotten his hands on yet.
