Chapter 439: 438

The Political Commissar was in the office on the other side, incessantly tapping his fingers on the desk, ruminating over what exactly Ye Tian was up to with his shenanigans.

“Old superior? Old superior? Are you still listening?”

“I’m listening. I’m asking you, where are you right now?”

Ye Tian was taken aback for a mont and said, “Didn’t I already tell you?”

“Still in the Tibetan area?”

“Where else?”

The Political Commissar’s eyes began to narrow, “Did you participate in the recent operation to encircle drug traffickers at the border?”

“No, why would I bother with that nonsense, it’s not like it would earn any rits and it’s just a waste of my life. I’d rather spend that ti hunting snow leopards in the mountains for fun.”

“Ye Tian, stop playing dumb!” The Political Commissar slamd the desk, and Ye Tian could hear it resonating, “You think I don’t know what you did?”

Ye Tian suddenly felt a chill in his heart, “Old superior, what do you an by that?”

“What do I an? You just stay put and stop wandering around. We have to hurry, now that Arican Imperialism is hoping for our inaction, and then surpass us by mastering superpowers. Didn’t you see the other day, Ma Chao with just one arm, the trendous power that represented! If our army could have a unit like that, what reason would we have to not hold our heads high? Would we still care about pleasing others, would we still worry about the ‘C’ formation around the South Sea? We still…”

Fine, even the encircling strategy was brought up.

Ye Tian didn’t know how much this old man on the other side knew, or whether he should tell him about unexpectedly eting Chu Tianying. Telling him might complicate things further. Better solve Huzi’s issue first.

“Well, old superior, ahem.”

The old man on the other end was interrupted by Ye Tian and could only let him speak, “You say.”

“Let’s just resolve the issue first. His mood isn’t great, and he won’t let pick people, I was thinking, maybe you could sort it out for him?”

The Political Commissar, clearly irritated by the interruption, snorted, “What’s the matter?”

Ye Tian sensed his bad tone, guessing things were tough, needed to fuel the fire.

“Don’t ask first, just say whether you’ll resolve it or not?”

“You first.”

“You first.”

“You first.”

“You first.”

The Political Commissar banged the table, “Are you ssing with ! Which unit! Say it, I’ll handle it!”

Ye Tian got exactly what he wanted, the old man’s anger.

While his anger was still fresh, Ye Tian detailed Huzi’s situation, especially emphasizing the elderly parents. Ye Tian could sense the mood on the other end of the phone just from the heavy breathing.

“Old superior, Huzi even lost his life, doesn’t that more than qualify for a First-class rit? And yet, in the end, even a Second-class rit was denied, what the hell is this about? This is disheartening for our brothers! What can his high-ranking child do? Does he think he can comfortably occupy the office chair? I can’t help but curse his ancestors, with our brothers shedding blood and sweat, what the hell are you, just for a promotion, letting my brothers be trampled underfoot? I just…”

“What are you just, what are you just? Ah, what then? Are you going to blow up Beiping or bomb the Central South Sea? You think you’re sothing special, who are you to ddle in everything, you try managing it, if you can’t, then don’t make a fuss here. How many rules are there in the army, how many do you know? There are so many regulations, can you rely solely on bloodshed and sacrifice? Damn, what do you know, huh? Why can’t we look after the martyrs, why can’t we award a Second-class rit! It’s precisely because the army has too many rats like these that foreign powers surpass us, what right do they have to do this…” His speech started to change in tone. Ye Tian placed the phone on the table and nodded with a smile to the soldier beside him.

When he picked up the phone again, the old man on the other end had finished his rant.

The Political Commissar was silent for a while before finally saying, “Alright, let this go. Which company is he from?”

“He was from the Red Flag Group of the Sixth Major Achievents Company in the military region…”

When Ye Tian left this land again, the farewell ceremony was unprecedented, Jiang Dawei and Wu Wenjun stood together for the first ti without any quarrels. Behind them stood over a hundred brothers from the Reconnaissance Company, all in neat ranks, seeing off Ye Tian. Among them was the portrait of Huzi, and that bright Second-class rit dal.

“Reporter Ye, rember to co visit us, this is our territory, any issues, just co to us.”

“Yeah, we are all brothers, let’s not talk nonsense. As long as you co, we’ll have plenty of food and drink!”

Ye Tian chuckled, “Alright, whenever I co to the Tibetan area, you guys will be my first stop! Not for anything else, just for the feast you promised.”

Jiang Dawei laughed heartily, “Hahaha! Good! That’s a real man!”

Ye Tian waved to the soldiers behind the two n, the soldiers stood at attention, their movents uniform and expressions solemn.

“Salute!”

Company commander Jiang Dawei shouted, and pairs of hands neatly rose, the loud shout echoing long in the high altitude of the Tibetan region.

Walking to the uninhabited region, besides occasionally spotting a few wild argali, there wasn’t a soul in sight. The area nearby was stationed with military forces, making poachers fewer than other places, and the wild animals, sensing safety, preferred wandering here.

Ye Tian took a marching backpack from Jiang Dawei’s place, risking disciplinary action, as these military supplies were strictly accounted for; the instructor stubbornly obtained another set from the military supply departnt and ended up with a derit record.

Taking out a dogtooth curved knife from the backpack, the plastic handle ending with a compass, Ye Tian figured out the direction. He needed to head to the southern border, soone was waiting for him there.

Knife in hand, Ye Tian walked on.

On the way, he encountered two groups of poachers hunting Tibetan antelopes, Ye Tian dealt with both groups but still let a few escape by car. Using their phones, he called the Ard Police at the border, and also took their food supplies, weapons, and ammunition, packing them in his backpack, indifferent to their downtrodden expressions, Ye Tian drove off in a North Auto Warrior, all the while praising the performance of the vehicle.
