301: 301 301: 301 Entering the building, the first thing is a large hall, a titanium alloy front desk, two all-tal pillars, surrounded by screens and lights shimring with advanced technology.
The light emitted from tiny pinhole-sized microholes on the ceiling was soft yet bright, making the entire hall integrated as one.
Until now, I couldn’t figure out what exactly this place is for, I’ve only recorded what I’ve seen here.
To the left and right of the front desk, there are passages, but it’s unclear where they lead.
Ponytail reached an elevator entrance, the silvery elevator was integrated with the tal wall, not recessed, and looked very sleek.
Next to it, the elevator floor buttons were touchscreen, not requiring forceful pressing.
Ponytail pressed the buttons several tis, mumbling, “Why is it so slow today, nothing is going smoothly.”
Ye Tian saw her occasionally tapping her toes on the floor; it seed she really had urgent business.
While Ponytail was anxiously waiting, her phone rang.
She glanced at the caller ID on her iPhone, her expression changed, then she answered.
“Manager Mo.”
“I’ve found the person, but the elevator hasn’t arrived yet.”
Ye Tian saw Ponytail glance at herself, her expression sowhat troubled, “Manager Mo, this isn’t quite appropriate, is it?”
Probably sothing harsh was said on the phone; Ponytail looked a bit upset, “Alright, I understand, I’ll be right there.”
Ponytail dashed away, “Follow .”
“Where are we going?”
“Who is ‘we’?
Don’t be so presumptuous.” This girl’s temper was as fiery as her hairstyle, prickly like a donkey, ready to kick at any mont.
Ye Tian stayed silent, following her to the front desk, “Stand further back.”
Ye Tian stepped back.
“Further back.”
Ye Tian stepped back again.
“Further back.”
“What?
Speak louder.”
Ponytail didn’t speak again, she stretched her neck to say sothing to the receptionist, then the receptionist took out two tal naplates from below, scanned them on a machine, and handed them to Ponytail.
“Here, take it.”
Ye Tian went over to take it, but Ponytail suddenly withdrew her hand, causing the tal naplate to slip away.
“I thought you couldn’t hear!
How did you know to co over!”
Oh, so you were waiting for here.
…
Following the corridor to the right of the reception, the two reached the end; Ponytail in front, Ye Tian behind.
“There’s no way through here.” The storage room to the right, and the n’s restroom on the left, both deserted.
Ponytail looked at him disdainfully, took out a key to open the storage room door, and went in, “Co in.”
Ye Tian obediently followed in, and the door behind him closed.
Ye Tian was genuinely frightened, it was broad daylight, the world vivid and clear.
This girl is way too bold, could it be that she finds my handso and dashing appearance tempting, planning to force herself on in so corner?
“Tsk!”
Ponytail looked at Ye Tian with even more disdain, then walked up to a wall, placed a tal plaque at a designated spot on the wall which emitted a blue light from its outline, and then a keypad appeared.
After pressing a few keys, a door opened.
Ye Tian then realized, perhaps this was the secret passage.
An elevator embedded in the wall wasn’t exactly high-tech.
These gadgets may look flashy, but they’re pretty superficial.
The real high-tech was that tal plaque, definitely so internal staff information.
“Just do as I did, otherwise this elevator won’t move.”
Ponytail was extrely impatient and frowned as she spoke.
Ye Tian did not dare delay, guessing that by now the assault on the security guard at the door must have been discovered.
The people here were not to be trifled with.
The elevator was descending, this was as Ye Tian had expected.
Watching too many movies, a high-tech company like this had to display so novelty, or else they’d be embarrassed to claim they were in the technology business.
“Once we arrive, don’t talk nonsense, just do whatever you’re told.”
Ye Tian nodded.
Unable to bear his foolish appearance any longer, Ponytail kept standing in front taking no further looks back.
Ye Tian took out his phone, no signal, and breathed a sigh of relief.
As the elevator doors opened, everything within sight glead with the luster of tal, titanium alloy?
Unsure, but surely stainless steel is much cheaper and outsiders wouldn’t notice the difference.
Besides that, various types of vehicles were present; motorcycles, automobiles, and even more parts like tires, engines scattered on the floor or hanging in mid-air.
So bespectacled experts were pointing here and there while people nearby recorded their instructions in notebooks.
Ye Tian wasn’t interested in these; instead, he imdiately got absorbed in locating soone.
The area was bustling with many people, mostly rushing about as low-level workers.
The elevator was on a small platform on the second floor overlooking the entire underground platform, to the right were the stairs leading to the workspace, and both of them walked down together.
Ponytail stopped, and Ye Tian also stopped behind her, looking up; it was the back of a man, straight suit, broad and solid shoulders, exuding a mature and composed aura.
At that mont, this Manager Mo was standing in front of a car, the people around him holding notebooks, scor
ing so data series reports intermittently.
It seed, this man held considerable authority.
“Manager Mo, I’ve brought the person.”
Ponytail spoke softly, none of the earlier roughness and disdain, won are indeed naturally prone to charm, and only n truly understand aesthetics, hmph!
Manager Mo stopped interacting with the nearby engineer, turned around, glanced at Ponytail, then at Ye Tian, cutting straight to the point, “I’ll drive, you assist .”
“Manager Mo, that’s not suitable,” Ye Tian hadn’t even recovered when the engineer beside him grew unsettled, “New cars have risks, these risks could be significant or minor, it’s still better if you…”
Ye Tian understood now, so this was setting him up as a scapegoat.
Airplanes have test pilots, similarly, cars have test drivers, all to test new vehicles’ performance and strengths or weaknesses, to further enable improvents.
But, this job is quite difficult, a bit wrong, and you might lose your life, it’s no bicycle, it’s truly a powerful engine, and there have been incidents involving test pilots crashing and dying reported on the newspapers.
Realizing this, and looking around, Ye Tian pretty much understood.
Although there are many people here, most are older individuals, with a few young ones, but judging from the notebooks and vacuum pens in their hands, they are all senior engineers or technicians, all too valuable to risk for testing vehicles.
Recruiting company security for this purpose.
However, looking at this Manager Mo, he doesn’t seem to be a man callous about life.
