Chapter 246: A Choice In The Cave (2)

"Brother, you’re going to have to decide. Hold up, not so fast troublemaker." Jeremy stepped back when Cassian took a step forward, "if you try to fight , she’ll die, that I can promise you." He reminded Cassian of Madeline’s critical condition.

"But if you try to save her, you’ll have no choice but to let

go." A cruel smile tugged at his lips as he continuously backed away from the raging storm in front of him, "choose wisely, and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to lose your sweetheart all in the na of revenge. So what’s it going to be??"

To say Cassian was angry was clearly an understatent, the young lad was clearly steaming with fury. He looked so furious that Jeremy could feel the volcano inside of him starting to erupt, waiting to burst and unleash its burning chaos, but he was also restrained because of the unconscious woman in his arms.

The woman he loved.

Looking at her face, Cassian wanted to apologize for not coming sooner, he could feel her pulse weakening, and for the first ti as he could rember, he felt stuck, unable to make up his mind on what to do.

He wanted to avenge her predicant, but he didn’t want to lose her as well. That wasn’t even an option goddammit!!!

"Ti’s running." Jeremy’s voice broke him from his train of thoughts, and ti no longer slowed down like he could hear it ticking like a bomb in his ear. "What’s your decision?"

"Allow

to answer that." Elian’s voice broke the tension as he swung his twin blade at Jeremy with lightning speed, but Jeremy, who could feel his plans getting ruined imdiately evaded the strike that would have made him lose his head in an instant.

Cassian’s surprise upon seeing Elian and Osvaldo in the cave, displayed evidently in his eyes. They ca to stand beside him as though they were his shield, and Osvaldo’s eyes glowed in a bright powerful light that forcefully sent Jeremy to his knees.

"I shall protect the last Fae." Osvaldo uttered, and they could hear sothing viciously snap like he was breaking Jeremy’s bones from just the intensity of his eyes alone, and a painful roar escaped Jeremy’s lungs.

"How did you...?"

"Your little ghost friend stopped by and said you needed help." Elian answered before he could complete his question, and his gaze lowered to Madeline that was being protectively held in the arms of Cassian.

"Is she alright?"

"She’s... she’s drained." Was all Cassian could say, his voice was barely audible as he was still confused and genuinely worried.

Osvaldo suddenly stopped when he knew the amount of damage he had impacted on Jeremy’s body would hold him down for a while. With his eyes returning to the usual hazel colors, he looked at the unconscious Madeline in Cassian’s arm.

"She’ll be fine." He reassured Cassian before stretching out his hand. "Give her to , I’ll see to it that she gets treated, and I’m sure you’d like to handle the person responsible by yourself." He casted a side glance at Jeremy, and of course, Cassian’s fury returned.

He handed Madeline to Osvaldo. "Take care of her for ."

Osvaldo nodded, reassuring him that she would be fine before exiting the cave. That left Cassian, Elian and Jeremy alone in the cave.

"Please don’t tell

you plan on giving him an easy death, let’s make him suffer before burning his lifeless corps." Elian wickedly suggested as he played with his sword, taking the first step towards Jeremy who had recovered from all the bone breaking Osvaldo made him experience.

"Do you really think..." he looked up to et Elian’s glinting red eyes, "...that you can get rid of

that easily??"

"I don’t know, shall we test it?" He stabbed the back of Jeremy’s palm to the ground, keeping it connected and drawing out blood. "Let

guess, my brother turned you into a vampire?"

"I won’t tell."

"Elian." Cassian finally said sothing, and the twin sword Elijah gave him materialized in his hand. His eyes were insanely calm, but his aura filled them all like a blazing hurricane.

"Can you hold out his tongue for ?" He requested, already irritated from having to hear Jeremy spit out rubbish, and when Elian smiled at the request, Cassian’s grip tightened against the sword, and he charged towards Jeremy.

"This ti, even your ghost will perish in hell."

What Jeremy failed to realize was the fact that he was in the midst of two Vampires who killed slowly and painfully. The blood he drank from Madeline was supposed to give him a power boost, but it only strengthened his life span which wasn’t useful in his situation, and the tables turned quickly.

Was he lied to?? They said if he drank her blood, he would beco immune and strong!! Did.... Did they lie to him???

Whether they did or not, it was too late to figure it out.

Both his arms were ripped, his tongue was slit, and his fangs were pulled out. Elian gazed at the bloodied thing in his hand and almost ’eewed’ in disgust. "Your fangs aren’t even attractive, they look like your face."

He turned to look at Jeremy who was laying on the ground, pooled in his own blood. An insane laughter escaped the lips of Jeremy, and Cassian, who couldn’t stand it, went to pick out one of the sticks that had been lit with fire hanging against the wall.

He approached Jeremy’s body, and he looked at him with pure resentnt. "Any last words?"

"You’re bullshit!"

"I know." And he dropped the fire on Jeremy’s body. It burned, illuminating the darkness of the cave, and Elian shook his head with a tsk as he watched the body turn into ashes.

"His rotten body deserved it." Elian said before turning his attention to Cassian who’s eyes still never left the body. Elian didn’t know what to make of the look, but he knew deep down that Cassian felt terrible with himself, and was probably questioning his insanity.

"Hey, he would have killed more people if you didn’t do it. Don’t judge yourself with that look, and rember, he almost killed Madeline." Elian tried to clear up his doubt, but Cassian still remained unmoving.

Releasing a sigh, Elian placed an arm around Cassian’s shoulder, and Cassian looked at him briefly.

"Co on." Elian coolly said, taking Cassian away from the burning body towards the exit of the cave.
