Chapter 102: ssenger Bird (2)
Cassian took an ample amount of his ti to thoroughly think about it which was why he was confident enough to say it to her. He wanted to make her conscious of the fact that he wanted her, and also prove to the stubborn woman that he has no intention of marrying another - not in this life or the next to say the least.
As much as he planned to take this discussion very seriously in order to strengthen the length of their marriage, Cassian couldn’t stop the tittering sound that left his lips after hearing her innocent reason for outrightly refusing to get in bed with him.
She was afraid he’d break her, and to be hundred percent honest considering that logic, he does have the evil intention of breaking her along with the bed, but certainly not in the beginning.
Madeline studied his expression, noticing he had gone silent after she refused to make an agreent with this particular offer he presented before her. Her eyes inquisitively narrowed at him, taking his countless reactions into consideration, silently hoping her rejection did not offend him too deeply that he would no longer speak to her.
"Fine." She suddenly heard him say with a little shrug of his shoulders, and Madeline’s eyes expanded slightly at how considerate he was to take her rejection lightly.
"Really? You’re not.... offended?" Although she’s only heard about it, she had never wished for a man to force her into doing what she wasn’t ready for. She’s heard about how most husband’s get furious when their wives deny them of their rights to consummate, and she never gave her idea on that matter since she had the ntality that she would get sold to so barbarian, or die in the middle of being sold.
"Offended?" The young lad himself found it silly that she assud he would get upset. "Why would I be? I understand your point and it’s a good thing you’re keeping
aware of what you truly feel. It’s fine, we still have ti and we’re not growing old anyti soon." He ruffled her hair affectionately, sending warmth coursing through her body before getting out of bed, and Madeline, who was still in doubt, quietly watched him make his way to the door.
He stopped and turned to look in her direction. "I’ll be in my study in case you need ."
She nodded her head in response and watched him walk out. A slow smile graced her lips after he left, and she could feel her heart pound in pure adoration.

"Hmmm..... I wonder what brother needs such dications for?" Inquired Inna as she walked through the cobbled street with Frederick following beside her. The setting sun was already halfway disappearing from the horizon, and less people crowded the street - so she recognized and was forced to pass a greeting to avoid coming off rude.
"I have never seen Cassian consu such pills, it must be for the new lady." Frederick answered while also taking a careful look at the antidepressants dications. Inna’s brows knitted quizzically, wondering why Madeline would need such pills.
"Those two are hiding sothing from ." Murmured Inna before she dropped her hands to her side and turned her attention to the path they took.
Taking a left turn down the street, Inna stopped dead in her tracks after spotting a familiar figure leaning casually against a nearby building not a distance away from the opposite pavent where she walked, and her eyes naturally goggled at his mysterious presence.
He was admirably tall and dressed in a simple but elegant tunic and breeches, his vibrant red hair accentuated the refined curve of his neck to his shoulder, drawing ritorious attention to his direction even when it wasn’t required. She paused for a mont, her gaze drawn to the small hoop earrings that glinted from his left ear.
His features were sharply defined and almost otherworldly. Inna certainly couldn’t forget a face like his, and her encounter with the strange man ca rushing into her head after spotting him at Cas’s little wedding celebration.
She curiously wondered what soone like him could be looking for in the upper East quarters.
Continuously scrutinizing the young lad with a suspicious stare, she didn’t expect his gaze to abruptly look in her direction as though he sensed soone’s lingering attention on him, and their eyes clashed as she stared into those eyes that reminded her of a sumr green leaf, and for a mont, Inna was paralyzed by the intensity of his gaze.
Without a word, the stranger pushed himself off the wall and disappeared into the crowd, leaving Inna with a sense of unease and a nagging curiosity. She knew she had to find out who the stranger was and what his purpose in town was.
"My Lady!" She heard Frederick, who had walked a few kiloters from where she stood call out to her. He must have stopped walking when he realized she wasn’t by his side.
Picking up her feet, she let out a breath and went to et Frederick who led her to the carriage that awaited them.
anwhile, the red-haired stranger continuously made his way through the crowd that had lessened, slightly wondering if that human girl was following him or if he just kept running into her at the wrong ti.
Once again, she ended up coming in between his plans for tonight.
Out of nowhere, a beautiful colored bird landed on his right shoulder, and he rolled his eyes after hearing it squeak cutely into his ears, and he was already irritated enough to listen to his bird chirp in his ears.
"Seems to
you don’t mind becoming a bird at, where did you.... and whose letter did you snatch this ti?" Taking notice of the little letter tied to his pet bird’s feet, he took it off, further letting out a sigh as this wasn’t the first ti Chester would fly off to receive letters from unknown people.
He pitied the poor human who must have mistook his bird for a ssenger bird, and his lips twitched in displeasure.
"I should start trimming your wings since you have difficulty listening to my instructions these days, where did you find this letter?... nevermind, I don’t even have ti for this." Not ready to start nagging the animal that barely listened to him, he shoved the letter into his pocket and walked off.
