The Backbender (Avatar: The Last Airbender) Chapter 30 30: Hei Bai vs Kanuk 2

Boom!

Hei Bai watched as Kanuk ran towards him. With a growl, he phased into the spirit world, vanishing from Kanuk's eyes. Appearing behind Kanuk, a bright blue light flashed in his mouth.

Boom!

Kanuk felt as a massive crushing force appeared behind him. Spinning around, he sent a gigantic slash of wind mixed with vibrations. A blue light collided with the slash, exploding.

Boom!

As the vibrating slash and the sonic scream collided, a giant shockwave burst around the two, knocking down trees and cracking the ground.

Crackling*

A giant heat wave enveloped the surroundings as wind and fire mixed. Kanuk twirled his arm around as he used his montum. To make his attack stronger.

Boom!

A massive beam of flas burning at 2,000 Celcius was sent towards Hei Bai, trying to burn him down. But, it was useless as Hei Bai phased into the spirit world.

"Bastard! He keeps running... How the hell am I supposed to fight him?" Kanuk twirled around with frustration as he blocked a giant attack from behind him.

Boom!

A blue light hit his crossed arms, sending him flying dozens of ters from the impact. Kanuk's arms cracked and bruised up as the sonic scream hit him.

Katara watched as the fight continued, and she summoned water to protect herself and Fei from the heat. Fei looked around herself with a worried face.

"Katara... I feel like sothing is watching ." Katara looked at Fei with concern. She does not know what that ans, but she is the avatar, so she is sure it's not just a fluke.

"I don't know what that ans, but we can't just stand here," Katara said as she watched Kanuk get sent flying again as a bleu light beam hit him head-on.

"Tch!" Kanuk clicked his tongue as he spat out the blood from his mouth. He felt his bones nding together as his chi reserves burned, only to regenerate a few seconds later.

Hei Bai watched as the forest around him burned from the flas. Kanuk knew why Hei Bai was so angry at him and aggressive in his attacks.

He was mad that during the fight, he burned down so trees. Hei Bai is not pleased with his actions.

He could have gone the sa path as Aang and cald the spirit down. But he wanted to fight him and beat him. It seems like he couldn't do that without so cheating...

"System. Copy his attributes." Kanuk said with annoyance as he stood up, the blood on his body evaporating from the heat. Hei Bai suddenly looked at Kanuk with worry.

Growl*

The spirit got worried as he started feeling sothing changing in Kanuk. He was becoming more tuned with the world like he was becoming a... spirit.

[Ding!]

[Copied Spirit body.]

[Copied Powerful Body.]

[Copied Massive Chi reserves.]

[Ding!]

[Spirit Body, Powerful body, and massive Chi reserves are compatible with Elental body.]

[Fuse?]

"Fuse them!" Kanuk nodded his head as he dodged a beam of sonic scream. He jumped above Hei Bai and sent a downward axe kick enhanced by his chi, air bending, sound bending and fire bending.

Boom!

The ground turned into a crater as a beam slamd into the ground. Hei Bai phased into the spirit world. He was now on edge. He felt that Kanuk was more dangerous as the clock ticked.

As Kanuk continued his fight with Hei Bai. Fei was starting to feel things better and better. Her eyes flashed white from ti to ti as he watched the fight.

She was starting to feel how Hei Bai continued vanishing from Kanuk's air. As her eyes flashed for a 5th ti, she suddenly felt like she was in a different place.

"Fei?!" Katara scread in shock as he watched Fei's body fall down lifeless. She quickly caught her body before it fell, and she watched in shock as Fei's eyes glowed white.

Kanuk looked back in worry and noticed Fei's eyes were glowing white. He instantly knew what happened.

"So she entered the spirit world. I guess the ring helped her with it." Kanuk's ring enhanced Fei's affinity with the elents and things related to the spirit world.

She can better understand things in the spirit world. She must be in the spirit world right now.

In the spirit world...

As Fei opened her eyes, she was t face-to-face with a dragon. She jumped up in surprise while looking around with confusion. She looked at the dragon for questions.

"Hello, young avatar." From the back of the dragon, a voice interrupted Fei's words. Fei looked at the voice and noticed a woman of her older age sitting on the dragon.

"Who are you?" Fei asked as she took in her surroundings. It felt like the world with a purple filter on it.

"My na is Riko. I was the avatar. It seems you are much better than as you entered the world yourself." Riko said with a smile as she looked at Fei.

"You are the previous avatar! No way, that is cool!" Fei opened her eyes wide as she exclaid in surprise. Riko smiled at her enthusiasm.

"Yes, I guess it is." As this went on. In the outside world, the fight between Hei Bai and Kanuk starts entering the final stage.

Boom!

Kanuk coughed up blood as a sonic scream sent him to the ground. The beast was no longer holding back. It felt Kanuk's threat get bigger as ti passed.

[Ding!]

"RAWWRGH!!!" Hei Bai let out a scream as he suddenly felt Kanuk change. KLanuk got up from the ground, and in an explosion, his body was bathed in pure chi as it leaked out of his body like an ocean.

"Hei Bai," Kanuk spoke, his face covered by the chi outside his body. Hei Bai growled.

[Elental Body upgraded to Spirit Body.]

[1. The body can enter the spirit realm at command.]

[2. Can interact with things in the spirit realm.]

[3. Does not age.]

[4. Chi reserves increase drastically.]

[5. body becos much more powerful.]

"Can you feel it? Can you feel my spiritual energy crushing you?" Hei Bai backed off as the energy around Kanuk expanded, forming a beam of light around his body.

The ground cracked, and the wind beca fierce as the pillar reached dozens of ters into the sky. Katara, holding Fei's body, started feeling her chest tighten as she stopped breathing.

"K-kanuk..." Katara said with wide eyes as the pressure around her was too powerful, causing the air to beco heavy and her to not breathe. Kanuk noticed.

Swoosh!

The beam of light shrunk as it entered Kanuk's body, the pressure fading as Katara took a massive breath. She panted as she felt her lungs breathe again.

Hei Bai sensed the danger and imdiately entered the spirit realm. His figure vanished from the place, and Kanuk grinned. Kanuk stepped forward, and the space in front of him rippled.

Like a stone being thrown into a calm lake. Kanuk's body fell into space, and on the other side, he appeared. The purple world revealed Hei Bai running away from the place.

"Hey!" Hei Bai froze as it looked back. Kanuk was behind him as he sat on Hei Bai's back, a smile on his face. Hei Bai was about to attack him but stopped as Kanuk said sothing.

"Don't worry. The forest is good, I promise. It is growing back. It will just take ti. Here, this is proof." Kanuk put his palm out, and on the palm was an acorn he picked up.

In case Hei Bai was too strong for him to beat.

Hei Bai transford into his panda form, and his size decreased as Kanuk sat on his back. Hei Bai sniffed the acorn, and he looked at Kanuk with confusion.

He was confused by how Kanuk brought an object into the spirit world. Kanuk smirked as he saw the confused look on his face.

"I am just different. Don't worry about it."

What do you think about how the fight ended between Hei Bai and Kanuk? I did not want to kill Hei Bai as it would bring massive consequences from his death.

Fei can enter the spirit realm whenever she wants with more training, but only in spirit form.

Also, I saw people say that air and water bending are the strongest. I get why people think that but fire and earth have much more impressive sub-bendings, in my opinion. That is why I think the two are the strongest.
